  1. I measured the air strip (44.492203, -119.853611) which is about 4.4 miles from Rock Creek Lake. It is about 5,000' long. From what I can determine, that's enough for a small jet to take off. SWWASAS....do you think a G-3 can take off with a 5,000' runway? https://binged.it/2RCNc3y %00 According to Gulf Stream a G3 requires 5100 feet at sea level for takeoff. Landing is about half of that. That airport elevation is 2600. 5000 feet PA requires 7126 feet of runway. So it would require around 6000 feet of runway to take off at 2600 field elevation. A takeoff by a G3 at that airport could be done but would not be legal. If they lost an engine or aborted they would run off the end of the runway on a 5000 runway. Multi engine jets have an engine failure abort or takeoff speed. Below a certain speed you abort for engine failure, above the speed you continue the takeoff. Normally the stopping distance determines the minimum runway required. Density altitude is always a factor. Hot day requires longer runways. That applys to small single engine airplanes too. Most airliners, even medium size airplanes require 8000 of runway.

  2. The show started off promising and now it's a joke. Sorry I invested time into it. Folks would be better off watching Mountain Monsters...at least that has some entertainment value when the fat dude falls in the water or mud.

  3. Something was caught on thermal. Can anyone prove it was fake? Something was also caught on camera that had eyeshine, a hair was found with no medulla, and something wood knocked and howled. Were all of those fake too? If you say yes, kindly explain the hair please. In my opinion, the show produced evidence we all endeavor to achieve. To the extent it had entertainment value...so be it. It gets two thumbs from me.

  5. I admit I, Wolfjewel, am an armchair Bigfooter. One good thing an armchair philosopher can do, imho, is keep encouraging folks to 👍listen with care to all sides 👍avoid labels 👍state your opinion or experience without fear of putdowns. When people use labels that pit “us against them,” that’s the surest way to guarantee both sides will learn nothing from each other. As a BFF member since 2016, I’ve read plenty of mud-slinging posts in the past. Happily, the public part of the Forum recently got cleaned up (yay!) and violators of the decency code banned. (You can get around that in the Premium section which I’ve just joined, lol.) In 2020 I’d like to invite all new members who wish to share a sighting or experience, to post as soon as possible. Since newbies can’t start a topic but only reply, I’ll ask frequently for their input to my query. Hopefully moderators will judge their sharings worthy. I’m so psyched to hear new voices!

  6. It could have been an Elk walking away . I catch animals on thermal every time I go out at night .I don't think there's ever been a time we haven't caught a deer or a yote if we stay out the night. I mentioned that when they used the balloon thermal and pretended they couldn't find the spot when he was telling them it's right in front of you. They used flashlights , that made no sense at all when they each had a thermal they could have pulled out. That was really fake and so was the dramatic music they used . I wanted this to be real and I bought the series and still have the last one to watch but the more I watched it I could see it was fake. Sure BUT have you even been on the EDGE !!! of discovery before ?

  7. 7.62 I am on the same page as you are on. Either speak up or move on. I just do care no more anymore . If one ever does get in my cross hairs well it's good day for that beast. I am not going to chop it up. But drag the beast out and tag it and send it U of M for study. Let them deal with the gov . But you can bet that they are not going to get the credit for the kill. I am going to CMOA my self . I am not going for money cause I do not care about that. Do not even care about notoriety since that is not important . It is all about my sanity. But yes you are right that you did call it .

  8. Agreed - It's made for the tv audience, not for researchers. The problem is that Russell is an author and runs a bigfoot conference. Ronnie is also an author. Presenting this contrived and sometimes outright dishonest activity could do damage. We can be an unforgiving bunch. (but see below - risk/reward may be worth it) I perused that page on Facebook, and just decided to stay clear. I'm sure somebody will take what we've found and share it there, and the reaction could be epic. It's not gonna be me. Dr Mayor sharing her dream may have been the most honest part of the show. I am a vivid dreamer and pay attention to what is presented in dreams. My dreams get more vivid when I'm camping, and especially when I get too hot or too cold. One cool night and the dreams can get a little crazy for me. I have shared some thoughts about my own dreams in the paranormal section, so I won't mock too much about that part of the show. However, it's my opinion that they ended up at the cemetery because they knew it was there. They have the same map as I do and I can see it on the map. I can never believe they just stumbled on it. They needed the drama. I think they should be concerned, but here's a thought as to why it would be worth it. Russell runs a bigfoot conference that caters to the BF community, and dishonesty of a show like this could hurt that a little. As I just mentioned above, we can be an unforgiving bunch. BUT - It might also help him bring in many others to his conference. Risk/reward was likely worth it. Russell is also Bob Gimlin's handler, for lack of a better term. He helps Bob manage his appearances and I know he has been looking to get Bob some paydays. I think that's why they included Bob G in this series, and Bob deserves a few paydays. Can't fault them for that. One could theorize that RPG didn't like the dishonesty and got out as soon as possible. Like so many other things in the series, maybe the illness was contrived to allow him to exit gracefully. <- just a 'theory' I also can't fault Ronnie too much for jumping in when the opportunity presented itself. As an author, the publicity has to help. I just wish he didn't need to pretend that finding the abandoned truck was a 'surprise.' As for Dr Mayor, I have nothing bad to say. It's difficult enough to get scientific types involved with Bigfoot. If she's in it now, I hope she's here to stay. Mostly, I blame the producers for the garbage product. They are not concerned about 'us' and evidently not too concerned about the reputation of the cast. I'm hopeful that the show just ends with this season and we can all go our merry way.

  9. If there is a conspiracy to cover up bigfoot which has been successful this long, we stand no chance. Any tactic we choose has been anticipated and accounted for. I simply don't believe that's the case. I believe there would be evidence of such a coverup. Right now, it falls under "magical thinking" ... an excuse for failure to prove, not an explanation for that failure, no different than mind-speak, cloaking, interdimensionality, alien intervention, etc. Even if correct (and I don't believe any are), our path to those conclusions is invalid .. a guess, not science, not valid logic. Lack of proof is not proof of lack. Keep on trying. This other stuff seems just an excuse to rationalize quitting. I'm not quitting. MIB

  10. My immediate family are believers. My husband isn’t, but he only laughs affectionately at my interest. He doesn’t ridicule. I’ve had many bizarre interests throughout our marriage, so this is just another in a long line from his perspective. He used to live in Washington and spent a lot of time alone in the Olympic mountains. He’s had many experiences of that creepy watched feeling.

  11. I was ten years old in the summer of 1974 and my favorite movie was “The Planet Of The Apes”. I was thrilled to learn that in September of that year a Planet of the Apes t.v. series would arrive on CBS. I was fascinated by the special effects make-up of the apes by the master John Chambers. After enjoying a couple months of the new t.v. series, CBS aired a documentary called “Monsters! Mystery or Myth” about the Loch Ness and Bigfoot legends (at that point, I had never heard of either). I cannot tell you just how I felt watching the Patterson Gimlin beast march across that dry creek bed. I was amazed and dumbfounded. The sasquatch was so large and muscular, something that I had not seen in any of the Planet of the Apes movies. It felt to me, at that moment, that what I was seeing on the television was a real, living creature. For days I could not shake the images from my mind, and I walked away with the thoughts that the creature was some hulking deformed human that lived in solitude away from civilization that had shunned him (I thought of Patty as a male at the time as the documentary didn’t focus on or mention the breasts). Weeks later I bought a small paperback book from the school bookmobile entitled “Bigfoot: The Legend” and read it from cover to cover. Then, in 1976, Andre the Giant played a Bigfoot on the Six Million Dollar Man t.v. series and I remember being disappointed at the Hollywood sasquatch. Although tall and hairy, it didn’t look anything like the bulky, muscular Patty from the documentary, but did further my beliefs that this is a lone, freak of nature, that lived in solitude and hid from people. In 1977, Mr. Spock told me tales of the legend from the Pacific Northwest on the t.v. series “In Search Of”. So from 1974 to 1978 my interest was piqued in the Bigfoot legend until, in 1978, my family moved from the city and into the deep woods of rural North Florida. By eighth grade thoughts of Bigfoot waned as I became interested in the woods around me and the wildlife that surrounded our new home. Whitetail deer, Black bear, boar, racoons, opossum, rabbits, fox squirrels, bobcats were everywhere to be found and after a summer of mowing grass I was able to afford a Fred Bear Whitetail Hunter compound bow and aluminum arrows with razor sharp broadhead points for hunting. Bigfoot began to fade from my thoughts as I now had begun my own adventures stalking and hunting game with my bow and arrow in the woods and swamps of Northeast Florida. Now in junior high and on my way towards high school my interests where now completely occupied with girls and music and girls, and on the very few times that I heard mention of a Bigfoot, well, I had decided that the beast that Patterson filmed back in 1967 had to have died by now, and that would be the last of the “bigfoot” legend. Besides, that was in the Pacific Northwest and if any more creatures existed, they were not going to be found in my neck of the woods. I spent hundreds of hours walking through the woods stalking hogs and bucks, finding bobcat tracks (my brother eventually killed one), never, ever thinking about a sasquatch. Ever. I actually began to (because of lack of stories, sightings, and evidence) not believe in the legend of a hairy man-ape anymore. Leaving high school to start my life and family I never ever thought about Bigfoot again. Then, on a spring night in 1994, at 29 years old, my wife and I, with two small children in the back seat asleep, were traveling north on A1A which is a coastal, two laned road winding along the coast near numerous beaches, at around midnight. There was no moon out but it was a clear night. I had the music playing and I thought that my wife was asleep as well. There were no other cars around, and I had just rounded the bend near the Big Talbot State park, which was a full beach access with camping areas, grills, picnic tables and dumpsters. A1A was about 200 yards west of the Atlantic Ocean. Then, in the distance, I see what at first glance is a Park Ranger standing in the grass about 4 feet off the road to my left, his tan-brown uniform lit up by my high beams. Instantly, the form began to walk across the road toward the ocean. As I was driving about 70 mph I was closing on the subject rapidly. As I got closer, my mind went through a series of thoughts in about 4 seconds. It was as follows; “what is that park ranger (very tall park ranger) doing at this time of night?!” to “why is someone out here in the middle of nowhere with a Chewbacca suit on?” to “oh my God, what is that?!”. I had to slow down just so I wouldn’t hit it with my car. As it walked across the road (never looking at me, almost not even mindful of me), I got within 40 yards of it and came to a complete stop as I watched it cross me and walk right into the scrubby brush of the sand dunes (DuneBeast) and disappear. At that moment my wife (which I had assumed had been asleep) said “What was that?”. I said very slowly “I…don’t….know.” Then, she said “Was that a Bigfoot?”. And then at that moment, reality hit me and I was stunned. I answered to her “I guess so.” It was all surreal. I was almost in shock. I backed up the car and turned my headlights into the spot that it went into the dunes and pulled up as close to that spot as I could get. My car was now literally blocking the right lane of the road facing the bushes and dunes. I got out of the car and looked for footprints. My wife screamed “What are you doing? Get back in the car”. I started to walk up into the woods to see where it went when a cold chill hit me and I realized that I don’t want to come face to face with that huge thing in the dark…what would I do? I jumped back in the car, backed up and drove off. Looking in my rear view mirror it was pitch black…no streetlights at all. I drove home the rest of the way in complete silence….probably in shock. My wife and I never told anyone. I couldn’t believe that there was a Bigfoot type creature on the east coast, and in the south! The sighting haunted me for ten years until in 2004 someone told me about the BFRO. I made a report. My interest was now overflowing with the Bigfoot phenomenon. I started researching like crazy. The BFRO investigator told me about this site, and I joined here in 2004. I moved quickly up the rankings and enjoyed the forums every day. Eventually around 2008 I once again put the Bigfoot experience on the back burner as telling people only made me seem crazy. If my wife had not seen it also, I would think that I was hallucinating. But I wasn’t. The sighting still haunts me. I’ve been back to the site on many occasions, in the daytime, looking for clues. Nothing. This Bigfoot that we saw, it was very tall and very muscular, but lean, not bulky like Patty. Like a very large muscular basketball player covered in 4-6 inch light brown to tan hair. Anyway, after not being here in over ten years, I decided to rejoin (my profile had been deleted at some point I guess). So now I’m a Newbie again and look forward to hearing all I can about this legendary beast. Thanks for listening…here is the link to the BFRO report: bfro.net/GDB/show_report.asp?id=8514

  12. Hello everyone! I was raised a fairly avid outdoorsman and enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping which led me into curiosity about the potential of other animals that haven't been discovered. Having been raised in the Pine Barrens of NJ I was introduced to the idea of the Jersey Devil at a young age and that kind of left the door open to looking at other legends. I have not experienced a Bigfoot but I believe the potential exists. Not sure I'd really want to have an experience, that depends on the stories that one hears, but I'd like to be able to recognize it for what it is should it happen. I came across this forum when doing a search for more information about the Travel Channel show Expedition Bigfoot and looking for people openly discussing the show. Read the general forum thread on it and liked the open, friendly debate over the good and bad so thought I'd join and look around further.

  14. They really jumped the shark last night. Turns out Cliff's and Moneymaker's slams to the show were pretty much spot on. It may be interesting to see if Russel features his work on this show going forward in the community or if he backs away from it...

  15. I’m coming to the conclusion there’s 2 possible reasons. 1) It doesn’t exist 2). It’s so elusive and rare 98% of sightings and encounters are bunk, most likely including my own. Either way if you can’t put one or parts of one on a slab the government ain’t acknowledging it. All the e-dna and letters and petitions are getting nowhere. They will get nowhere. If the government don’t want it out, until it’s shoved in their and media’s face it ain’t getting out. Amateur research at best is going to contribute to help tell a hunter where to put his bullet. You want your proof right now your best chance is getting down to Marks place and figuring out what’s going on. It’s been months now of reported activity within close proximity of a house and no body......what’s that tell you?

  18. Responding to my own post in the context of added posts about the ranch I will say that my sighting happened on a previous working farm operation long closed almost a hundred years earlier after it timbered over and yes there was at least one mica prospect on the property too. My point is I do think this could be a workable Sasquatch site given the history of ranching alone---yes. We know of the curiosity of Sasquatch re: heavy machinery historically. Still don't think they would cotton to corporate jets unless they were frequent flyers.

  20. OMG... the drama.... How could a cow skull get underwater in that remote swampy area? Here's the answer... You are on a ranch. Ranches have cows. "Abandoned truck in the middle of nowhere?"

  23. I'll pass if I wanted to argue about a dude in a suit you'd see me in those threads, if your going to base any theory on PGF sorry its a fail. But I do appreciated your thoughtful responses. Do you just take stuff out of context or just can't keep up with the conversation? Again no doubt its not a snowshoe, but it most certainly could be fake or a misinterpretation. The only thing marvelous about it is they had time to waste reporting it or faking it LOL!
