  1. Shadowborn, I don't think I really want to have a face to face encounter, too many people have been traumatized. I don't discount your experiences, I'm thankful you take the time to share them. Strange owl calls seem to pop up often and now MIB and others have mentioned crows, I had wondered about crows, too. bipedalist, really interesting about the medley, so it was noticeably odd. Georgerm, the loudness stood out to you, like the call was blasted through speakers? I'm so familiar with our local birds that if anything stands out, I make note of it. If I hear an odd call, I try to look it up online. bipedalist and NatFoot, as I wrote in my intro, I've been reading this forum since 2013, read all the old threads. I am interested in this phenomenon because I am one of those people who had strange things happen while I lived in an old cottage in Wisconsin. Seems I had what would be described as typical Sasquatch behavior, we couldn't find any logical reasons for the odd occurrences. House slapping, motion sensor removed from motion sensor light mechanism, racket on the roof, etc. I didn't have the internet, cable tv, or tv at the time, I didn't know what to make of the events at that cottage. Later, after I went online, I realized that the odd things that happened fit in with other reports. I also now believe they are more common than many people realize and I do believe the majority of people are telling the truth of what they experience and what they see (not misidentification.) I thought I'd join so I would be able to ask a few more questions that I've wondered about. I am not looking for them in my area but I do believe it is a very good thing to know that they exist along side of us. I do read all kinds of reports and pay attention to all experiences.

  2. @BRB - Beautiful! It does fit perfectly in there with lots of space for additional items to be kept organized. Congrats! @Redbone - That's too bad about the zipper. I hope you find a replacement case. The $7.95 Condor H2O case arrived today. I am favorably impressed and it fits the thermal, two battery packs, and a voice recorder. It is well cushioned but I added additional padding so the thermal is safe. It has molle webbing throughout which will make attaching it to a backpack or chest pack a breeze. I be thrilled with it at $30+ but for less than $8 it's a steal.

  3. I agree with NatFoot. The P/G film is better quality than most thermal gear can produce and science is divided about if what it shows is authentic. While thermal gear may soon be as good of resolution as that, it might be another 50 years before someone with that gear or better has the same opportunity to film and unobstructed Bigfoot subject. I do not believe photography without corroborating evidence will ever be accepted as proof of existence by science. At this point with DNA ambiguities, I think only a body or skeleton to examine will be accepted as proof.

  4. Thanks to all for dissecting the last episode for me. I kept dozing off while watching it so I missed a good portion of the show. The funny thing is I wasn't even tired before it came on. I planned to watch it again on demand on my Travel Channel Go app. Now I can put it off until I have absolutely nothing else to watch. If anyone has a suggestion for a really good believable podcast about Bigfoot, let me know. I am a big fan of Josh Gates and looking forward to his new adventures next week. I think his shows on Bigfoot were much more believable and besides that he approaches things with some skepticism and a lot of humor. Maybe Dr. Mayor should team up with him to do some more of his expeditions about Bigfoot.

  5. True. So many people talk about how human they look too. Aside from self-defense, I think it would take a very unique set of circumstances to overcome that and be able to kill one. While I have no doubt they have the potential to be dangerous like all creatures, I admit I’m very soft-hearted and don’t want one killed.

  6. I think I will agree with that statement, based on what we've seen. I love the Stacy Brown footage, it's #2 after the PGF, imho. And the 4th of July adult and baby.

  7. How else are you going to see one if you do not do what people tell you to do what you are not suppose to do. The best way to have a in your face encounter is to do the things that they do not like. After my first encounter in 2000 on the first weekend of September we started having them do barred owl calls . I believe it was in April we spent a week up in northern Michigan where we had more encounters with these creatures . It was then that we started using the barred owl call to have some sort of a communication with them. I remember that it was late at night and I kept making my best impression of a barred owl call that I could do and what ever was out there in the dark was calling back with it's best impression as well. As I went back into my camper to sleep I slept on the floor of the camper and my dog slept on the couch. I slept on the floor since I was scared that I might be grabbed through the window after having my encounters with these creatures. Yes, I slept with my loaded pistol. As I slept my dog started to get strange on me . He started to curl by my head and the door handle started to wiggle but did not open. What I heard next was even stranger and that was the barred owl sounds I was messing with earlier. It was sounding off as it was moving away from the camper. Now I know the difference of barred owls as back then I did not. From what I know now and from what I heard back in 2000 up North . Those sounds were not coming from barred owls. I now know the difference after going hunting and understanding the wild life. Once you start to understand what is natural that is out in the forest Day and night. You then start understanding the difference of what you are encountering. I have looked for my recordings of the conversations I have had with these creatures but have yet to find them. A lot has to do with just giving up on no one believing what we had encountered back on BFF1.0 in 2000. It is a shame since we had really truly encountered these creatures in Northern Michigan. Then have encountered them in Lower Michigan and have really research the heck out of them. If they want to imitate other species they have that capability. If they want to misdirect they have the capability to do so by imitating other species. But then again what the heck do I know, Right ! I have been blacked balled so many times that I just sit back and laugh.

  9. Armchair researchers are great people who do great work in this field. I say this since a lot of us do not have the patients as they do to go through reports. They have always been the ones who have been able to get into the details of the reports . They have been able to get the details of the creatures and the responses that the witnesses have given that some of us have not been able to catch. They are very detailed in information. Very helpful and full of knowledge that some of us may not gain in the field. They are of a different type of researcher that is always needed. Yes, so thank you for being a part of a large family that I am not sure if one really wants to be a part of it. I say this only because of the ridicule that comes in believing in this creature we call Sasquatch.
