Isn't that true of every ones efforts thus far, no matter the method? At least the habbers come up with the best stories2 points

Hello! I have yet another question for those who are interacting or have interacted with Sasquatch, unsure if this has already been discussed. I'm wondering which bird calls are being attributed to Sasquatch in your area of research? I know many people hear diurnal birds at night (and reverse), owl calls that don't seem to be from owls, etc. Have any of you experienced such odd bird calls and is it common in your research area?1 point

I wouldn't put it past nature to do such a thing Got that right, Airdale. And I think that would hold true even after discovery answers the questions that we currently ask.1 point

I certainly don't think their brain is on par with ours, but possibly along with it's bipedal gait and evident omnivorous diet (and I know chimps are at least somewhat omniverous) there are other differences. While some believe the population is quite limited, I'm not so sure; they seem to have mastered living everywhere from seeming desert waste through mountain wilderness and withing the fringes (at least) of human habitation. Just between your State of Maine and mine of Montana there are vast areas seldom trod by human feet for such a creature to live well. Possibly some gene for a different type of intelligence developed independently in Sasquatch, as bipedelism seems to have done. Always more questions than answers my friend!1 point

Right. I never really knew much about habituation till joining this forum last week, but I’ve never thought of BF as our friends with fur. I’ve always assumed they’re omnivores with the potential to be dangerous. I’ve been aware of lots of people who erroneously assume big animals are our friends because they yet to be eaten.1 point

Before I leave this thread to its own, I will put into a nutshell what I've learned and have been talking about: 1) The NOTCH2NL gene is not present in any other mammal outside of Humans, Chimpanzees, or Gorillas. 2) It is not present in Orangutans because Orangutans split off BEFORE the gene appeared in the common ancestor. 3) Before the Human and Chimp/Gorilla split, the gene created a defective duplicate of itself. 4) Chimps and Gorillas kept those two NOTCH2NL genes, which includes the defective one, but neither gene does anything. They're called pseudogenes. 5) Humans had the same two genes after the split, however, another duplication occurred which REPAIRED the duplicate defective gene. So Humans now had two good genes. 6) Two more variations were created after that which gave Denisovans, Neanderthals, and other Homo species, including modern Humans, FOUR variations. 7) The four variations have been responsible for the larger size/growth of the Human brain as well as increasing cognitive abilities. So, ONLY Human contamination in e-DNA field samples would have all four NOTCH2NL gene variations. It those variations are not present the only alternative for suspect Human contamination would be the two-gene NOTCH2NL which is ONLY in Chimps and Gorillas. My contention is that even with the advanced primate, bipedal, body of a Sasquatch, it only has the brain function of a Great Ape. So its DNA should present the two-gene NOTCH2NL: One gene and its duplicate, defective gene, neither of which do anything. And that is about the best way I can give the short explanation for why I think it is so important to pursue a Human-contaminated e-DNA sample result further. Instead, scientists should look at the NOTCH2NL gene first and not just simply toss the sample out. In light of all this there would be one more point to make for you conspiracy theorists, but it'll be more fun if YOU bring it up1 point

So you trust what they are telling you is real? Why has not a single, logical, human being been habituated and thought...damn them, I'll prove they're right with the best damn footage out there and get rich...and move if I have to? And when I said logical...doesn't mean they have to be educated and smart...but putting 2+2 together gets you to the above reasoning, whether it's true or not.1 point

If an owl attempted to attack a baby or juvenile raccoon in a tribe of coons you would get a racket that sounded like what you describe. Even a raccoon fight can make you think you have awakened a demon on steroids if you don't know what you are listening to. The barred owl has faked out so many BF researchers that it is hard to count them all; I am not talking the atypical but the typical. In the sphere of arguments I heard the samurai chatter interactions of two maybe three probable bigfoots with human-like intonations of chastisement but not a language that could be identified. I do have some sound recordings on soundcloud too but I prefer not to append them to this thread: you can look them up under bipedalist.1 point

IFor those of you who listen to Sasquatch Chronicles...you are familiar with the descriptions that occasionally pop up there. People say that they see these things crawl like spiders. The host of the show even described them as moving along the ground using their fingers and toes. I always pictured them moving like Twinkle Toes Flintstone, but on all 4 limbs...1 point

Not only that but the middle manager types, knowing what happened to the First Peoples of North America, under the benevolent care of the US Government, may believe as I do, that putting them under government oversight might be the worst thing that could happen to them.1 point

I agree I didn't make my post clear, If it benefited the people in power we would have confirmation tomorrow I should have wrote. There is no upside at all in the confirmation of Sasquatch by our government or by the people who make the rules , none what so ever that I can see.1 point

I wonder if this was the advanced algorithm that the show used? " You can enjoy your morning cup of coffee without the unwanted side effects of excess cortisol and stomach acid. One way to achieve this goal is to wait until mid-morning to consume your first cup of joe. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine reports that a United States Army sleep study has come up with an algorithm to determine the optimal time for caffeine consumption. This algorithm is based on an individual’s sleep-wake cycle. However, waiting until after breakfast or until the early afternoon doldrums set in may be helpful for making the most of the dose of caffeine in your coffee beverage."1 point

Thanks to all for dissecting the last episode for me. I kept dozing off while watching it so I missed a good portion of the show. The funny thing is I wasn't even tired before it came on. I planned to watch it again on demand on my Travel Channel Go app. Now I can put it off until I have absolutely nothing else to watch. If anyone has a suggestion for a really good believable podcast about Bigfoot, let me know. I am a big fan of Josh Gates and looking forward to his new adventures next week. I think his shows on Bigfoot were much more believable and besides that he approaches things with some skepticism and a lot of humor. Maybe Dr. Mayor should team up with him to do some more of his expeditions about Bigfoot.1 point

More than a gimmick they are just spinning off of the fruits of our own SSR and other databases. If you don't peruse all of the databases you don't get a feel for who, what, where, when. I was able to coble a sighting out of using these resources, others should too without waving a magic wand and spreading fairy dust algorithm fantasies.1 point

I see absolutely nothing paranormal in what I experienced. Nada. Creatures in the woods spying on humans doing interesting things. What's so weird about that? And infrasound is a scientific phenomenon. For the record - it's none of the above. I've hung out with famous people who are names you'd recognize instantly due to working at major Hollywood studios for a decade, and I don't care or want that. I spend money on this hobby, I certainly don't earn it. More followers would be fun, but not necessary. I like the conversations and interactions with likeminded folks. My motivation is twofold - burning curiosity and I just like being outside in the woods!1 point

What efforts have you made to verify any of the stories? Not reading about them, but going in person and checking into them? MIB0 points
-
To each their own but I don't know why people put effort into stuff like this from so long ago. To the point above, it'll never be proven. And even if it was, who cares? Something existed in the 40s...doesn't do anything for us now.-1 points

You and @Sasfooty may want to connect. I'm sorry...if they can do what you're describing, this entire forum should be paranormal and you should not be going out into the woods looking for "them" unless it's for ....... Whatever motivates you. Dollars, internet fame, a cult following, or maybe all of the above.-1 points

That's a good way to tell if a habber's story rings true. We are in a BF science endeavor and determining the truth is so important. We like to collect evidence and eye witness accounts that make up what we know about bigfoot today. By having a story retold several times, provides a method to test for truths. Lie detector tests would be another way to verify bigfoot accounts but it's too impractical. What's another way to test bigfoot evidence, such as foot prints for truth? We are not finding bigfoot since most habbers don't know who to call so experienced researchers can study their bigfoots. The one exception is the on going reports, coming from the Oklahoma family. This is how the forum members and researchers can coordinate, to bring forth evidence from a habituator. Hats off to our members! Are there any other habbers out there besides Sassyfooty?-1 points
