  1. Expedition: Bigfoot! The Sasquatch Museum will be featuring Ron Morehead on both Friday March 20th and Saturday March 21st. Both presentations will be from 6pm to 8pm; additionally, on Saturday from 1pm to 4pm Ron will be doing a book signing for (I'm assuming) his most recent book: The Quantum Bigfoot. Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance, there is a limit of 65 guests per night. They've already done a pre-sale of tickets and according to their Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/1EXPEDITIONBIGFOOT/ - they are about halfway to being sold out for either night. The museum is located just south of Blue Ridge, Georgia (it seems that Google Maps lists it as Cherry Log, GA) and the phone number there is (706) 946-2601. They are open daily from 10am to 5 pm but keep in mind they are in the Eastern Time zone. Their website also has the event listed here: Expedition! Bigfoot hosts Ron Morehead

  2. How do you tell the winner of a knife fight? It's he who dies last.

  3. Yup, what's when I got mine. I saw the ad that was the knife in a reverse grip, I believe, coming down on a cheating poker hand, and had to have it! It's been a great blade over the years. Even butchered a cow and a couple of moose with it. The handle made for a nice non-slip grip, and is still in great shape. And I always wanted one of those Puma White Hunters.

  4. @NorthWind I was working in a cutlery shop when the original Cold Steel Tantos arrived on the scene. Somewhere in their advertising they could be seen puncturing through car doors, because that happens a lot....But what a piece of work. Should have bought one back then, it was a unique, robust blade on the scene. @hiflier Same goes for those Pumas, I recall we had a boxed hunting set in a plush red felt? lined box I think. German make, with an antler handle. Is that the Bowie you had? I'm sure sorry for your loss--ouch, I looked for one a while back, should have bought a dozen as an investment--spendy!

  5. @BlackRockBigfoot The MM is quite heavy. The micarta scales are very slick when wet (it's almost always wet here in Oregon), which is why I wrapped it with paracord. The stock is very thick (I want to say 1/4"), bombproof. Works great for firewood. And at 17", a quite intimidating piece of badassery. It's almost a short sword. I wouldn't recommend it for EDC, but works great for a camp knife / chopper. My buddy got the MM tapered tang fighter, and seems to love it.

  6. I have a half dozen Moraknivs, a Kershaw folding knife that I've misplaced currently, and this lovely CRKT hatchet. I'm looking to get a leuko knife like this one soon. I'm also in the market for a neck knife and I'd really like that replica knife based on Otzi the Iceman. https://sportantiques.co.uk/large-sami-leuku-knife I also have a little $6 Csbelas multitool knife that I like a lot. The saw blade works awesome with my ferro rod.

  7. I'm a fan of ESEE and carry two knives when out in the woods. One is a neck knive, the IZULA. It is on a lanyard and can be accessed instantly. The other is an ESEE4. Great all around knife for survival purposes. I've been looking for a large knife although I don't find them as nearly as practical for every-day use in the backcountry. My 4" ESEE batons wood nicely. TOPS has several large knives I've been looking at. Having enough choils, especially in the right place for your hand size, along with an adequate amount of upward-sloping jimping makes all the difference in comfort and control when bearing down on it. Also, don't forget to make sure is the knife is legal in your state.

  8. 14 x 8 with a fence around it for a run dont sound to bad for 55 chickens considering they housing can go vertical very easily. I believe the goat was a pygmy he said, pretty small. Listened to the whole thing, pretty good stories and he sounds sincere but the only criticism I have, and I always have to play devils advocate, he seems to hit on all the major BF stories, stealing or messing with kills, throwing things, messing with farm animals, messing with vehicles, stalking the house etc. So are these typical BF behaviors that we can start putting together a pattern or are they points people telling stories hit on to try and get credence and fit the typical story? I"m not claiming that is the case here but it always makes me wonder and I tend to lean on skepticism first so as not to try and fall for a con. Hopefully more comes of this and there are good updated.

  9. So it seems now that this rock was thrown a few feet from the hunters and not inches. Why am I not surprise by this admission . It was not trying to kill these hunters nor has these creatures tried to kill any of these other clients. It seems to me that this hunter was after the same game that this creature was after. It deems to understand that it threw this rock to get these hunters off the game it was going after. But why did they embellish the whole story from the start. Why not just come out what actually happen from the start of the event. So now how are we to believe what this rancher is truly saying what is on his ranch. If this rancher cannot get his fact straight. How often do these events actually take place on his ranch? when all we have heard of has been maybe three to four events that have taken place. That rock throw should not have been a life changing event for a seasoned hunter .Which I am thinking might of had some adventurous events on this ranch to pay out that amount of money for those seven years. It is just food for thought.
