We only saw deer and squirrels, it's early and cold still. It's in the mountains, so Everytime it rains it get foggy. It was a foggy day, but in the summer when WVFooter and I got followed. Today was nice... Below is Seneca Rocks. We tried to hike to the top, but I couldn't do it, got 75% of the way there . I have a new goal now.2 points

Seems a bit early for snakes. But I'm in snow anus deep to a tall giraffe here. I guess that's why there are no snakes here.1 point

The day after I almost got nailed by the timber rattler, I ordered a pair Turtleskin Gaiters. They're lightweight and protect as well. I am now at ease when in the area where the rattlers are abundant but reclusive. https://turtleskin.com/default/snake-gaiters.html1 point

I'd like to get out and see some nice scenery like this. I've been around MI and a little bit of KS. The real mountains are amazing looking.1 point

I have one tenant currently and I informed them last week to just let me know what they can do and I’ll work it out with them. Made sure they know that I’m not waiving rent but more than happy to defer it and deal with it when this is all over. I have funds and plans set aside for these exact situations.1 point

I don't know about squatching but I am definitely going camping after hiding in my house all winter. I'm about done with housework, online teaching and testing. I'm taking the summer off from teaching this year and just going, going anywhere whether I can afford it or not, my values have changed on what's important. I like to read about bigfoot but I have to say squatching is starting to sound like fun to me now regardless of having to pooh in the woods.1 point

I just got this beauty in the mail. I bought it before i started taking this whole Coronavirus situation seriously, but I have zero regrets. It's comfortable, rugged and bigger. I love it! Only thing I wish is that it had at least one internal pocket. Not a biggie. Now, if I could only get to the woods to actually USE it! 30L Savotta Jaakari. 👍1 point

Excuse me, but some of us out here don't have any debt and are actually the suckers who bought bonds and financed the debt you're talking about defaulting on. And then you think that "debt will return big time"? Who's going to finance the next big default? Do you think that immediately after defaulting, we'll just send some more money?1 point

Right. And the notion that small businesses can just take out a loan to keep going and keep paying people is equally farcical / nonsensical. If the money isn't coming in from delivery of service and sales, that is accumulating debt the businesses may not survive. It just means that instead of failing today, they fail when the loans come due. We are so used to last minute reprieves .. this has none. There is nothing we can do to make tomorrow "normal" but there are things we can do to make normal come sooner than it otherwise might. The thing we can all do toward that end is comply with instructions to lock down, stay home, whatever your state chooses to call it. Just because you have a right to do something does not make doing that thing wise and does not mean it comes without serious consequences.1 point

I think either would be unlikely. Many banks are deferring even mortgage payments now. Look at the US student loan situation right now. Vehicle registration renewals, license renewals and vehicle inspections are slowly being postponed for at least two months by some states. Don't know about Canada but I would imagine it would offer the same kinds of relief. I think governments have accepted that there will be no tax revenue to be had for a while. If this world had its...um.....stuff together....then ALL national debts and deficits would be forgiven and everything begins anew at zero. Mainly because debt will return big time from paying for all of this by having to borrow all over again to get everything back up and running. Deferring everything for a few months doesn't mean no one has to make up for the deferral. Just getting everyone back to work will take time also. And I am aware that "getting everyone back to work" is a highly positive statement, even without assuming a timeframe. The exit strategy after all of this is yet to be determined but the restart more than likely won't be nearly as quick as the halt in everything but essential businesses. Be that as it may I would bet, and hope, with what we've learned, that the next threat response will be much more aggressively launched then this current one.1 point

Just In Time supply strategy. Obviously, that was as wise as outsourcing our medical manufacturing.1 point

I work in trucking. We do a lot of medical supplies. We have been deemed an essential operation by the government so we do not get effected by shutdowns. Prior to this all going down my boss was in Europe, Italy and Spain to be specific so he has made it back stateside this week but is in quarantine. That leaves me in charge of the entire show as I"m #2 for the company. We are a cross country carrier so on a daily basis I have to interact with drivers that are just coming back from runs across the country. We service Maine to California. God bless these drivers for being on the front line and willing to drive and deliver anywhere in the country despite fears. So far we have had 2 employees that are awaiting results, they have come back negative for FLU so Corona test is next, they most likely have it given the symptoms. We have strict cleaning regiment we have to perform every 2 hours and we have to wash our hands at least once every 30 mins. I've had to balance my week between calming down scared employees, running the operations, and on conference calls and meetings about what we do next. I have to do my best to keep this thing going, I have a lot of drivers, warehouse workers and office staff that need their paychecks as long as they can. Plus we are delivering things to hospitals that are necessary to operate. I"m both mentally and emotionally worn out tonight, and I cant go see my gf because I dont want to expose her to anything. I go to work and come home trying to interact with the "public" as little as possible. I hate the idea that I could be a carrier that does not show symptoms and could be spreading it at stores or gas stations but I need to keep doing what I can as long as I can to move essential items and keep my people paid as long as possible. Stay safe out there people.1 point

Today is my last day working on site. I'll be working from home 'til at least late April. Possibly extended, not likely reduced. I hope to leverage this .. use what was 45 minutes commuting to work to walk down to the river and fish for 45 minutes, use my hour lunch for a walk instead of surfing the net, and add the 45 minutes I spent commuting home to the time for yard chores so I'm in a better position for goofing off when summer comes. Just have to see how effective I can be. Everybody be safe. MIB1 point

Well for sure the lack of a wood fire makes less evidence that you were there camping. I use a propane fire pit for heat. Don't smell smokey, reduces respiratory issues for me, and less fire hazard. I like the ambience of a wood fire but the smoke is very bad for me now. As a side note, and warning to others, I did a kitchen remodel about 2 years ago. It involved rebuilding a cabinet to install a new range. Lots of sanding and filling. Wore a dust mask but not a good one, and my glasses would fog up when I wore it. So idiot me, I did some sanding without the mask. So the combination of sawdust, Corian counter plastic dust, and my own idiocy, has damaged my lungs and made me very sensitive to dust, smoke etc. Use a good dust mask when you sand. The sad part is I have a fresh air respirator that I used to paint my airplane, and I was too lazy to go get it and use it. It pumps fresh air through a hose to the mask to breath. How dumb can you get?1 point
