Birthday knife. I have gotten a knife for my birthday every year since I was a young boy, and big folders are a passion of mine. This year's birthday knife is the Cold Steel Large Espada. 5.5 inches of S35VN steel. This won't be a woods carry knife, but you can bet that it will be in the EDC rotation. It carries exceptionally well for a folder that has crossed the line from large into semi-absurd territory.2 points

If your goal is seeking attention? Even bad press is good. If you wanna gain lots of attention to yourself? Go after the giants in the field! I think I had this guy pegged from day one. Lots of pretty backdrops, lots of hot air...... little else.2 points

I think that he originally tapped into the underlying dislike for the BFRO that permeates much of the Bigfoot community and really focused on highlighting that with his videos.. That translated into subscriptions and views for him, so he ran with it. Combine that desire for YouTube celebrity with what appears to be a naturally juvenile and abrasive personality...and you end up where Isdahl is right now. I think that he equates insulting known names in the field with YouTube success, so he is going to continue to push that envelope. His apparent rabid dislike for Meldrum, Gimlin, and Green is so strange. Disagree with their positions all day long, but the three of them come across as respectful and courteous men. Why would personal attacks be necessary here?2 points

I was a bit shocked and I don't shock easily. The letter he read seemed disjointed, i.e. bringing in something about John Green's father being a figure in the Canadian government and being responsible for the death's of huge numbers of Chinese laborer's. The whole thing seemed pointless other than heaping abuse on people living and dead as well as saying Bobbi Short's death was a murder rather than due to a heart affliction ostensibly related to consumption of Mexican sourced cherry tomatoes. I can't claim Jeff Meldrum as a close friend, but have had both in person and email conversations with him and found him to be friendly, decent and not in the least bit arrogant even when I displayed crass ignorance. Putting out something derogatory about Bob Gimlin is just stupid, it's like telling someone that their beloved grandfather was a mob hit man or something equally reprehensible. Bridges were burned with that letter and I don't see much way they can be rebuilt.2 points

Happy to report that I have not watched any of them...2 points

Palidese not stating his theory of the cause of the disappearances is hardly surprising because of his law enforcement background. A detective does not publicly voice their suspicions about who their suspects are. If he had some sort of direct evidence that it was BF, he might voice it. But because he is always reviewing the investigations done by others in law enforcement, he certainly is not going to be critical of their investigations or pin it on bigfoot if he ever wants to have access to future investigations. Professional courtesy and common sense are all part of him stopping short theorizing what he thinks might have happened. If there was evidence pointing to bigfoot or any other predator, the principal investigators likely would have found some evidence to that effect. That such evidence has not been found in these cases is what makes them different in the first place. The criticism of Palidese by the BF community is symptomatic of them associating way to much to bigfoot. We see that in those that seem see a bigfoot behind every tree in their forest pictures.2 points

Even if you disagree with John Green in every way, shape, or form; I have never seen or heard of any behavior on his part that would justify calling him a b*stard or a pr*ck. Isdahl's whole schtick seems to be standing up for those who have been ridiculed, insulted, and belittled...and he is going to accomplish this by ridiculing, insulting, and belittling people... Oh, and he is going to champion these downtrodden masses and open up the Saquatch field, but he really doesn't have the time or inclination to do anything other than post a 20 minute attack video every other day. Got it.2 points

Thanks, Bobby. I watched the video to make sure that he wasn't reading that from an email he had received. Nope. Those are his words. I also never met John Green, but I'm pretty confident in who he was and what he was made of. I now believe I know who Isdahl is and what he's made of...........2 points

Video from yesterday, and I quote. "John Green is (was?) a lying b*stard and a pr*ck." and laughed whilst delivering it. Then goes on to say "I'm just the messenger and I have better things to do in life than stand here and make up b*llsh*t". I don't know John Green, never did, but talking of the dead like that doesn't sit well with me personally, that's not the way to be. Oh well, I guess it takes all sorts to make a world.2 points

I"ll call you out on that. Throwing 130 yards? Sure!!!. The longest recorded throw for a baseball player is 445'10"or almost 149 yards. So your saying you are only about 19 yards short of the longest professional throw ever? Get out of here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glen_Gorbous A pitcher who throws at 90mph is going to throw the ball about 100 yards or 300 feet. You were hitting an 8"x8" target at 100 yards with random rocks you picked up?? Really??? https://www.quora.com/How-far-can-a-professional-baseball-player-throw-a-baseball IB4 you could have played pro ball as a child. I bet you also could hold all the world records for largest fish caught if you ever decided to turn in your your catches.2 points

If he is too busy? Then why the 10,000 Bigfoot videos right?1 point

Valid point with the hot air comment. If you edited out all of his usual oft repeated catchphrase filler words (brave, hardworking people!) and random attacks on other people you would be left with only about 2 minutes or so of content. Content which he is too busy to vet and doesn't care if it is right or wrong... because did he mention that he is too busy to care? I had some hope for him and his channel, but he turned out to be the shock-jock wannabe of the Bigfoot world.1 point

Me neither, I can't get past 45 seconds of the initial rant...1 point

This is the only one of his videos I watched completely, and it will be the last I bother with.1 point

Did you listen to the whole segment, the whole letter he reads? Worthwhile. It tells you who his sources are, who he is relying on. That he considers someone's character assassinations of John Green and Bob Gimlin credible shows he has been lead astray .. badly. I do not think we will see anything of substance from Steve Isdahl. If John Green was as he described, he never would have left us a free and valid database to describe Sasquatch behavior. Reminds me of the Lloyd Bentsen quote about Dan Quayle: Isdahl does not know the true Green Or rather if there is a dogman the foramen magnum doesn't exit horizontally from the skull base1 point

Like I mentioned before, this constant refrain of "I am too busy for _______" has gotten old. The rate that he puts out videos shows that he certainly has time on his hands.1 point

I know I couldn’t throw a rock 100 yards and I’m sure I’d strain something trying!! It’s not an easy feat hence why I doubt the average person can. Happy to eat crow if proven wrong by either of them. I’d gladly pay their premium membership for a year and give them props.1 point

Outfielders not only can they throw it 100 yards, but do it accurately.1 point

I could easily throw a rock a 100 yards. I could throw it farther than a baseball. Hit what I’m aiming at? Nope. Unless the target is a lake or a barn.1 point

Norse...I have the perfect smartphone holder for your Emerson chest pack. It can fold away when not in use and allows hands-free use of your phone. I'm going to get one and will use it when I'm scouting around the woods and bushwhacking. When I want to follow a track on my topo map, my hands will be free. There is the original Juggernaut holder for the IMPCT case for your phone and there is the FMA version of it that is a fraction of the cost. If your phone fits one of cases, it is worth considering. I ordered the Juggernaut IMPCT case and will get PALS Armor mount. Juggernaut cases and molle-case holder mount: https://shop.juggernautcase.com/categories/mounts-accys-apparel/smartphone-mounts.html FMA version (much less expensive): https://www.fma-tactical-gear.com/collections/tb-fma-1/tactical-phone-case1 point

What I’m really waiting to to find out about our distant cousins is did they hang their toilet paper over or under. Then we’ll really know what kind of people they were.1 point

I think he has done a good job of bringing these strange disappearances to the lime light. And I think some of these higher visibility cases could easily be fact checked if he was misrepresenting them. But as I said, there are thousands and thousands of cases and no one is going to get them all right. Were the Green Berets actually called in to the Dennis Martin case? Everything I’ve read? Absolutely. Just one example.1 point

I am kind of on the fence. He has a lot of charisma and is a great storyteller for sure. I've enjoyed what I've watched. But I would like to see evidence rather than just staring at his face for twenty minutes. Get out there, Steve. Start looking.1 point
