  1. Northwind, whatever you get I suggest that you do not relay on the camera to camouflage itself. Figure out some sort of natural covering material, mount it high, and hope it is not noticed by both humans, who likely would steal it, or BF to avoid. I an not at all sure that it is the IR that gives away the game camera in daylight operations. It could just be the strange box strapped to a tree that does not belong there. But the IR flash likely is the giveaway during the dark hours. Bigtreewalker has a photo sequence that shows what I think is a BF noticing a game camera during the daylight. He has not posted it because the BF is so far away that you cannot be sure what it is. But its behavior does not look human. Once it sees the camera it goes into the classic get behind trees and peek at the camera routine. A human would not have done that but would have marched right up to the camera and messed with it. But the fact that the BF saw the camera from that far away, demonstrates to me that they are wary of anything out of place in the woods. With all the game cameras deployed, something must be giving them away to BF who avoids them Most are not camouflaged, which is probably the biggest factor. As I have mentioned before, my back yard is wooded. If someone hung a game camera there, I would notice it immediately just because of it being out of place.

  2. Out of all of the BF sketches that exist on the net (I shared a massive site not long ago), nothing matches what you saw?!? I'd suggest you didn't see a Bigfoot then and you might be using your time better suited looking for answers elsewhere. I don't see how what you said is possible and you are here talking Bigfoot.

  3. I know I keep bringing this up but e-DNA testing of streams and brooks that flow out of these remote areas could be one solution for BF discovery in such inaccessible terrain. Those flowing water accesses would be much easier to approach than dense, rocky mountainous locations. Less time to get to, and daytime sampling would be a given. People have been dancing around this concept for the last eight months or so which only leaves the difficult tasks of chasing these creatures down in some of the toughest environments they have moved into supposedly due to our past efforts over the years of finding them. Personally, I think it's time to step into this new technology (like Meldrum, Disotell, Mayor and others have shown) and start getting ourselves scientifically tuned to the issue. I found his article which I found interesting: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4100498/, especially in light of its source: US National Library of Medicine , National Institutes of Health It tells me government science has looked at the subject of Sasquatch and DNA, or at least found it interesting enough to allow the paper to be published through them.

  5. LOL, well, even I need some fun sometimes. I looked over NW's link and I think he's picking up a good tool for the BF trade.

  6. That's were I am at right now. Someone doesn't agree with me? Who cares? It's all speculation at this point. No one answer seems to have a 'one size fits all' sort of answer to the phenomenon, so someone else's guess is as good as mine. I have zero ego invested into any one explanation, because none of the explanations do a good job of explaining it. The video that Norseman posted is intriguing though. Paranthropus lived in a warmer climate than we currently experience. Could Bergmann's Rule somehow play into the size difference? Can creatures who live throughout the eras get larger in response to global cooling? Paranthropus was what....5 feet tall and some change? Probably under 100 lbs? That's still a huge difference from the average Sasquatch reports.

  7. Actually, a werewolf might be a sasquatch colored with uneducated theories to explain the phenomenon. A mermaid might be a sea creature colored by the stories of even less educated, rough, tough, sex-starved, 18th Century sailors. Vampires? It's a matter of history that Vlad Dracula was much more bloodthirsty, murderous, and efficient than any story the completely uneducated people of the region and era could ever describe or Hollywood can even depict. Imagine a forest of 20,000 impaled humans rotting in the sun and feeding the birds. It was so utterly horrifying, it accomplished the desired effect; the Ottomans turned around and went home. A monstrous legend, created by reality, survived and evolved for centuries. Paranormal? Nope. Evolving stories/theories to describe an incredible reality? You bet......

  9. Doesn't fit, doesn't "work" for the size of the "guy" I saw. They should be close to us but I think that is too close for there to have been enough time. I don't think we have any potential answers that aren't incredibly speculative at this point, so much so that nobody should be investing much ego in any specific explanation. Instead, we should focus on refining the questions since we don't yet have answers or a way to choose among the potential answers. .. but that's just my view. MIB

  10. Bob Gymlan had a great video explaining how many creatures that came to the Americas across the Bering Ice bridge and Straight developed vigilantism when they arrived and became the megafauna here.

  11. You would have to check in with Young but the manifestations of mythologies throughout history all fulfill some kind of need deep in the subconscious mind. In this case it has been suggested that bigfoot could be a call within us asking us to return to a better relationship with nature. UFO's have been suggested to be a current manifestation of what used to appear to us as angels and demons. Nothing about our understanding of physics makes the existence of spiritual forces impossible and saying so is unscientific in itself. I am not saying i know that I am right any more than you can know that you are right. I am just saying that it is a possibility that fits the data. Yes its a bit out there but then again you and I are on a bigfoot forum....... discussing bigfoot so no one gets to pull the straight shooter card without earning the nickname of Pot, as in Pot calling the Kettle black.
