  1. Before I left Facebook that last time, Bear would get drunk and get on the BFO page and threaten to find and beat up habituators. It was beautiful insanity, man. Just beautiful.

  2. I've been a fan of Bigfoot since I was a kid, saw Boggy Creek and Six Million Dollar Man, read the Marvel Godzilla comics (he fought Yetrigar), watched Peter Cushing in the Abominable Snowman, etc. I just self-published an action-horror novel titled Yeren that features Bigfoot prominently and I wanted to try to drum up some attention. It's FREE and is available on Apple, Kobo, Barnes and Nobles, Booktopia, and more in the weeks ahead (including Amazon). If you're looking for a good summer/quarantine read, may I humbly suggest it? If you read it and like it, I hope you tell your friends about it. Either way, if you happen to take the time to read it--thank you! And I'd love to hear what you liked or what didn't work for you. I'm quiet on these boards but I do read them and I thank you all :)

  3. Rictor definitely got the art thing down but I had to do some counseling with him behind the scenes that didn't quite work out, sort of like the bigfoot bk man dude too who unkindly turned the tables on me in one of his flamethrowing critiques of the BFF on his blog, I was not the lone ranger on that piece though, lol. Oh well, you can lead cows to water...... Coonbo answers: yep, yep and yep Not an author I would choose to read again, thats for sure, wasted $

  4. Thank you! My dad had a friend called Buddy who was a solid, stand-up guy. He was a firefighter who died on September 11, 2001. Naming that character Buddy was in honor of my dad's friend. If you read Yeren, I hope you find some characters in there you like! Good luck with your novel! We definitely do this for the love of writing. I was a little worried casting Bigfoot as the bad guy (the monster) as from all accounts I've read they are peaceable creatures. That said, I like horror, and my books are usually less about the horror of the monster(s) than how horrible (and good) the human characters can be to one another. I used Draft 2 Digital for the e-book of Yeren...are you using Amazon's service or something else?

  5. Hahaha... me too. I remember Steve Kulls as a moderator, he gave me several warning points Rictor was also here for a while, he was ok when he was here. There is some original artwork he drew around here somewhere.

  6. Let's use the analogy of wrestling to compare with bigfoot research. Amateur wrestlers make next to nothing in income. The events are attended by mostly just family and friends of the competitors. A crowd of 100 people at an event is considered a success. How many Olympic gold medal wrestlers can you name? I can think of one because there was a movie and book about him. Then there's professional wrestling. A billion dollar industry with household names. Fake as you know what. But the stadiums are packed full, Pay Per View money galore, merchandising, books, movies, etc, etc. Sensationalism secures interest. The real deal is boring. Real bigfoot research garners little to no interest in part because there's really not a whole lot to it. The woo, interdimensional/shape-shifting/invisible forest friends, UFO-connection, massacre-touting angle is exciting, dangerous and intriguing for the common lay person. The channels with the most views and subscribers are proof of this.

  7. When I popped into Rictor's Instagram page he was challenging people to fist fight him at conventions. He deleted those posts and reposted the artwork again without the comments. Between that and the vulgar (albeit funny in a juvenile manner) artwork, all I could think of is that Bob Gimlin is lessened by this idiot's support.
