  1. I was once a diligent BB (Bigfoot Believer). I spent several years and several 1,000's of Dollars in search of this mythical creature, all in the hotbed - PNW. Never found a thing. Nothing. Didn't see anything. Nothing. Didn't experience any UFO's whisking BF away....no 3rd dimension portals....didn't get zapped by ultrasonic waves, etc. Set trail cams out in 100's of supposed hot spots - lot's of bear, deer and cougar pics (as well as a couple of hippies doing the wild thing out in the wilds) - but nothing of the hairy man himself. Came to my senses, BF ain't real...never was and never will be. It is a connived scheme to generate revenue. Jerky commercials, Finding Bigfoot-type shows, t-shirts sales, etc. Heck, even the How to Hunt dude, a guy who certainly doesn't believe in something as silly as BF is using the situation as click bait for his videos. Anybody who'd tell you they've seen BF is doing 1 or 2 things: trying to fool you or, trying to fool you and themselves. But, to keep this "industry" alive, I've done my part - I went from being an amateur researcher to a part time hoaxer. I've laid out fake prints for people to find, some have even been shown as pics on this forum. I've got a fairly realistic "ape" like suit that I've worn to run across roads in front of oncoming vehicles....I've done some recon around campgrounds late at night and have done tree knocks and howls to get the campers to respond. I've even have my own youtube channel (won't disclose it here as I'm not looking for the "hits") where I "discover" prints and follow them with a cam....of course with the obligatory "howl" off in the distance warning that I'm getting too close. Frankly, hoaxing is a blast, especially when later you hear of or read a report about a BF sighting or track sites knowing that all along it was me. Im not alone, there are several others who are dependently "in" on the ruse. Don't be mad at us. Admit that we've entertained you and have kept you looking and looking... We don't mean any harm and I would think most of us consider hoaxing a service to the continued industry of BF. See you, or...maybe you'll "see" me out in the woods sometime...

  2. Todd, you just can't resist the urge to blow your cover. Check your FB page and take a look at you sharing your home renovating. So that part of your story is probably true. And with your dedication to policing BF research, it is entirely possible you are hoaxing to prove whatever points you want to make. You should lay off Madison though since she has the respect of the BF community regardless. You on the other hand are lacking such status.

  3. BRB, the speed and grace she described is very much like my own encounter many years ago. The figure moved very smoothly uphill from a creekbed to the top end of a clearcut in what seemed like 2 minutes, across terrain that would have taken me at least 10 minutes to scramble up, and never appeared to be running. The impression I got was that it almost seemed to "flow" uphill. That definitely appeared superhuman to me.

  4. @wiiawiwb, Survived yet another close call!! Bet the gaiters are on next time and you never see another. That "print" looks as if a sas was running on its toes. Does seem to have potential. Love hearing the loons at night, nothing like it. I had 2 run-ins with rattlers in 4 days while in the AZ strip. I saw the first before stepping down off of a rock onto it, the second I didn't see but the warning sent me flying, don't think I've ever jumped so far. Did a bit of research on gaiters after that. The latter encountered in the appropriately named Snake Gulch and pictured below, a Grand Canyon rattler I believe: Screen Shot 2020-07-17 at 7.56.59 PM by LIght Pirate, on Flickr

  6. I blame you for my missing the fun. I spent my time today on the site being a responsible member answering your earnest questions about something I posted and in doing so missed on the fun. It is your fault. I had open season to play for an hour and missed the opportunity. Stupid me. PS - Just n case this is not clear, my post is entirely in jest.

  7. I'm sure I have it somewhere on this forum, but can't locate it right now, so here's a link http://thomassteenburg.com/?s=Brad+Trent to an interview regarding the sighting with Thomas Steenburg a while ago. I'm fortunate in living only a few miles from Thomas, and I join him regularly to check out sighting reports and interview witnesses. The valley where my encounter occurred in the late '70s has since seen most of the clearcuts from that era fill in with new growth. Thomas has reports of several other sightings in that same valley, some from near the same time as my own. In addition, my then 13 year old son had a sighting there a couple of years before mine, which I missed by seconds because I didn't respond to his excited calls soon enough. I also found a trackway in snow there on another occasion, which is recorded in John Green's database.

  12. Hi everyone, New to the forum, but not new to the subject of Bigfoot. I reside in the UK, so the chances of me spotting a squatch seem remote to say the least. Looking forward to getting stuck into some of the threads and seeing what current research is occurring.

  14. If you are re-roofing your house, then you don't have the money to build a 'muscular--dynamic suit'. Still using over-stock carpeting. Here is a hypothetical scenario: you prance around in your suit and get shot. Does the person that shot you become a 'Carpet Bagger'? Currently, I believe all campers are armed. Be careful out there.

  17. @Kent Walker In another thread you told Rod Hunter "I think we've ran into each other in the field before". Rod is from Great Britain. At what point in your hoaxing career did you decide that the Pacific Northwest was no longer scratching the itch, and decided to take your show trans-Atlantic? I guess flights are pretty cheap right now.

  18. Sounds like The Truth/BFRO Todd. Kent Walker is a well known taxidermist who would not post this kind of troll bait. It's standard procedure for Todd to use unclever aliases.

  20. I don't believe you Did you also build the nesting site in the Olympic Peninsula and manage to get your arms to swing naturally with your elbows in their proper places and, assuming a 6 ft. height, still manage a 30" shoulder span?

  21. Accounts of the strength that these creatures possess doesn't surprise me. Gorillas are what? 400 lbs? And about roughly 10 times stronger than a man? It would make sense that a 800 to 1000 lb Sasquatch would be orders of magnitude stronger. What does strike me as interesting is the accounts of the SPEED these creatures are claimed to possess. We have seen or heard fast moving SOMETHINGS during our outings. But, never seeing more than a shadow or dark outline... I can't say that what we are seeing is Sasquatch, Usain Bolt out for a forest run, deer, etc. However, there are accounts that these things are openly seen moving at cheetah speeds or greater... moving unbelievably graceful, almost to the point of looking unnatural. Take for instance the British woman who had an encounter in northern California who was a guest on Sasquatch Chronicles episode 515. She seemed like a credible witness. Her exact words were something to the effect of "The way that they moved. Almost as if they were gliding across the beach.". You can hear the distress in her voice as she recalls their movements. We don't see any evidence of this speed in the PGF, or in the Freeman footage, or in any of the other footage whether it's considered real or fake. I have been around large animals before and I know full well how quickly they can move in despite of their bulk. However, these things consistently are described as having almost supernatural speed, grace, and agility.

  22. IMO there are a few who do. We get calls from our local and state PD from time to time informing us of a sighting that was called in. Wheather they believe it or nlt they at least take us seriously enough to give us a shout and let us know specific location.

  23. Peak Refuel seems to have very good reviews, and a much higher protein content than most other brands. Haven't tried it yet but I did just put in an order a few days ago.

  26. Yes but Patty leaves tracks and has some pretty good torque movement. Hulk Hogan can barely walk and leaves Segway tracks, easy to spot.

  27. Yes, it bothers me! I bust my butt looking for evidence, put hundreds of miles on my old truck every month going out in the woods and have spent a lot of money on this hobby/obsession! Hoaxers are liars and waste my time and money. No tolerance for that BS.

  28. Hoaxers make field work more difficult. When you have to sort of what might have been done by humans and what was done by something else. I consider call blasting, making vocal calls, and making wood knocks nearly in the same category as hoaxing. It forces field researchers to have to figure out if humans are in the area making those sounds. Even worse than that, I have seen little evidence that it increases the chance of having visual contact with BF. Evidence seems to show that it just scares BF away once they determine that the sounds were made by humans. Another factor related to that is what those who have had extended contact with groups of BF tell me. BF do not like humans to be deceitful or tricksters. They seem to have no sense of humor about that sort of thing. I guess it is a matter of trust. They need some level of trust with a human to want to have contact. Trying to lure BF in with vocalizations and knocking would create an atmosphere of distrust.

  30. Discredits and hinders the search, that's for sure. It gives the skeptics another reason to disbelieve. I will not be a part of it. And though I will tease @Madison5716 verbally about dogman or even aliens, I will never fake some kind of "evidence" for humor's sake. My humor is more along the lines of bad puns and dad jokes. And then having to explain the jokes because they are so bad nobody else gets them.

  31. There is quite an extensive classification system for BF sightings. First it goes through a committee, members are kept secret from the general public. This goes through a number of meetings and reviews, heavily scrutinized and voted on. So a "class A" area is pretty well regarded. Others include: Class B: almost A but not quite. Class C: meh, not so much Class D: not much expected to be found in the area. And it goes from there. Class Z is supposedly something to do with zombies but no one is really certain.

  32. I got back yesterday from a quick sasquatching adventure. Went in at 6am Friday, poked around by day looking for tracks, then did night ops and left Saturday morning. For the second time in three weeks, I came across a Timber rattler...up close and personal. For decades, I've hiked and backpacked in an area known to have them but never once saw them nor knew anyone that did. Why, suddenly, the recent encounters? This incident was about 2 1/2 miles from the one three weeks ago. I went with a fellow sasquatching buddy and we decided to approach this general area from a different location. To get there, we had to ascend over 1,100' with full packs so I cut weight wherever I could. I wrestled with my decision, but the snake gaiters got left in the car. It allowed me to save a whopping 22 ounces! We set up camp then hiked to an area a mile away and poked around looking for fresh tracks. We saw one that was really deep but only about the length of a quart-sized Gatorade bottle. Our footprints barely sunk 1/4" whereas this was 2" deep. I couldn't pull away litter without unearthing soil. Maybe it was nothing. As we returned, the Timber Rattler was on the trail and nearly impossible to see until I was almost on it. I was closest with my buddy behind. It rattled and I stopped, then I kept my eyes fixed on its head, as it was clearly upset. I was near the business end. I "guessed" it was ~5' while my friend said longer. In either case it was big, camouflaged, and in no mood for visitors. It crawled into the brush and I tried to get a picture before it disappeared but wasn't too successful. I was only interested in knowing where its head was. Taking my eye off it to view settings was not going to happen. Clearly, this rattler, and the other one a few weeks ago, just wanted to be left alone and chose to exit when it could. That doesn't change the fact that I couldn't initially see either and got way too close for comfort with both. If I was motoring along on the trail, as I would if I wanted to get back to camp, I might have stepped on it. Three weeks ago, I said I would always wear the SP gaiters when in this area. This time, I rationalized that saving a small amount of weight was more important as lightning rarely strikes twice. Shame on me as I was in further this time and, if bitten, the hike back to the car would have taken close to three hours with no cell service anywhere around. That said, all-in-all it was a fun time filled with adventure and a loon happily provided melodic entertainment all night. The view of the area around this secluded pond was gorgeous.
