IMG_1278.MOV IMG_1279.MOV Giant photo dump, sorry! Lots of elk, could have shot three branch antlered bulls. Forest is crawling with elk and sign. Never saw someone bolt a chair to a stump to hunt them. They are that regular here. Popular spot though. No bear sign and one old cougar track. Stark contrast to my neck of the woods. We heard one weird call one night. Kinda a scream yell? A fair amount of hunters in the woods so who knows?3 points

Sometimes in the field you win and others times you come home empty. Returned today from an overnight. It was really windy and en route to a spot I wanted to stay, a dead branch from high up on a tree broke free, hit a low branch, spun, then hit the side of my face like a baseball club. Almost knocked me out. Cut and bloody, I decided to shorten my trek and get to a lean-to a mile away where I felt safe from falling objects. It was really strange. Howling winds during the day, at sunset the winds had died down, then picked back all up night long. It was a good call to stay at the lean-to as much as I wanted to continue on to one of my spots. I couldn't hear anything with the wind and likely couldn't have been heard. I built a fire and hoped to get lucky but nothing happened last night. Oh well, I strikeout a lot more than encounter things but am committed to keeping my line in the water.3 points

Perfect spot, I wish I was sitting next to you. I hope to get out at least one full day this long weekend (Canadian Thanksgiving) for mule deer, even though its supposed to rain all weekend.1 point

My limited experience with both law enforcement and ADFG personnel in Alaska is that they don't take it seriously, but that might not be so true in prime Alaskan bigfoot habitat at the very south end of southeast Alaska. I would really like to talk to Area Biologists from GMUs 1 & 2, espcially if they spent as many as 10 years on duty in those units. An interesting bigfoot event occured at the village of Illiamna (southwest Alaska) in the early spring of 1977. An FAA employee had a huge sasquatch cross the road in front of him, and the story got published in an Anchorage newspaper. The employee caught some harassment, so challenged "the experts" (most of whom were hunting and fishing guides) to come see for themselves. Several did. They followed tracks until they lost the trail, and interviewed the natives, who matter-of-fact told them that the creatures had been there all along, and they just left them be, despite the creatures stealing drying salmon on occasion and pulling their clothes off the line every once in a while. One guide who scoffed at first (Jim Repine) had a change of heart after going out there.......1 point

@7.62 The sneaking is going on in the S to N direction these days, with non-US refugees trying to cross into Canada from the US, and US citizens, who claim to be heading to Alaska, winding up in Canadian locations far off the direct route to Alaska, presumably because of our much lower covid infection rate, which is the whole reason the border is closed to casual travel right now!1 point
