  1. JKH, I ran out of likes today (it seems easy to do) so I just wanted to say thanks for the links! Cheers!

  2. I don't think that we have enough data to rule out appearance or grooming habits. Youtube comments voicing someone's opinion doesn't invalidate a witnesses's account. As a matter of fact... YouTube and Facebook comments are pretty safe to ignore. The amount of just made up crap that people spout as fact on social media is insane. Everyone wants to be seen as an expert on these things... Here's a picture of a gorilla. I doubt that he smells terrific, but he's not visibly matted with filth. There could be a lot that plays into grooming habits...age, environment, social structures or lack thereof.

  3. MM is not infallible, but his knowledge and that of many other researchers combined is still extensive. Here's one example: http://www.bfro.net/GDB/show_report.asp?id=9317 Sybilla Irwin's art work with witnesses may be of interest. http://www.sybillairwin.com I remember years ago there was discussion here about an unpublished video which was reported to show grooming behavior.

  5. @BlackRockBigfoot@ the H4,5,6 all have the option for a wired remote that should help you out with the locking situation. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RC4--zoom-rc4?mrkgadid=3341928464&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=gpla&mrkgbflag=0&mrkgcat=studio&recording=&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=92700046937640933&lid=92700046937640933&ds_s_kwgid=58700005287223865&ds_s_inventory_feed_id=97700000007215323&dsproductgroupid=373671252709&product_id=RC4&prodctry=US&prodlang=en&channel=online&storeid=&device=m&network=g&matchtype=&locationid=9009182&creative=353486410734&targetid=aud-418160834130%3Apla-373671252709&campaignid=2005754838&gclid=Cj0KCQiArvX_BRCyARIsAKsnTxMYnCgkCSjLHH8YvXkX8Wwr28jdm7Ubwk9ITJceWsI7pIq1u1LisRgaAmsMEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

  6. Primates that live in family groups generally tend the be more manicured, humans included. It also would make sense that a creature living in the woods would maintain its hair to a degree simply to cut back on snags as it moved through the brush. tangled matted hair has a tendency to be painful, catch on everything, lead to infections, and can make clean movment difficult depending on the location of the tangled hair. If they were as unkempt as some would assume one would think hair samples would be fairly abundant. Just food for thought from a naturalist perspective.

  7. Welcome, nightlistener and forestdenizen. You're older than dirt, if you're older than I am, nightlistener. I look forward to hearing experiences form both of you, and all the other recent joiners, as well. It's good to "see" new faces and ideas come on board.
