Missing 411, the thread's title, is about unsolved cases of people missing in national parks and elsewhere. At what point did you make the jump to finding out what Bigfoot is?2 points

@PNWexplorer I'm sorry to hear, that sucks! My boss had it, and 8 weeks later, she's only able to work 2-3 hours a day. Wishing you both good healing!1 point

I always find it puzzling that they hold a townhall meeting, get a bunch of eyewitness accounts from locals, which are nearly all daytime sightings in very specific areas, then they go out at night in the general area and bumble around with all of their fancy gear and get excited when they see a squirrel in a tree.1 point

Connecting dots and "investigation" are not going to tell us EXACTLY what bigfoot is. Describing bigfoot precisely and accurately in either anatomical and/or genetic terms should be the first priority. After that we can talk about its biology and maybe environmental needs. David Paulides is not doing any of this. And he certainly is making a living doing whatever it is he does. I already feel too much time has been wasted just saying his name.1 point

That is a very good point. There was a time when I never would have even considered the possibility that an unclassified species of bipedal primate could exist in North America. It was only watching an episode of Monster Quest, the Sasquatch Attacks episode, I realized there might be something to this phenomena after all. After do some more research on the subject, I came to the conclusion that it is not only possible but even probable that Sasquatch exists. I am sure there are many other Sasquatch enthusiasts and researchers who have similar testimonies. In this respect shows like Finding Bigfoot are a positive. As far as the research quality of the programming? The way Moneymaker and his crew go about their investigations, they might as well trample through the woods with an accordion. They couldn't find a raccoon in the forest, much less an elusive and intelligent bipedal primate.1 point

I think that Dave Paulides lets his viewers connect their own dots. In this manner, he creates a wider audience by not mentioning Bigfoots or UFOs.1 point

What lab did this DNA work? Was it repeatable and was that done? Dr. Svante Paabo ran the nuclear Neanderthal vs. sapiens results 100 times before concluding we are 2% Neanderthal. Another problem. The Bili Ape is a chimp subspecies. Chimps have a greater distance to gorillas than humans. Chimps and humans cannot interbreed. The time split between gorillas and chimps is greater than for either and Homo. So the hybrid theory needs a hell of a lotta proof.1 point

Beautiful fish! Morton and Packwood sound familiar re: BF activity, those elk are a good sign, maybe around May... Forks is a good 2+ hours one way from SEA, as I'm sure you know. I'm scheming about how to maybe get there for a couple days since family trip there got canceled last year.1 point

Hello, Logger Charlie here. Had a Great Uncle who was Hunting Buddies of Roger Patterson & Bob Gimlin who worked in the Logging industry all up and down the west coast from Washington, Oregon and Northern California. He started out as a Faller and later when his body wouldn't allow him to Fall timber he bought his own Logging Trucks and hauled timber till he retired. He passed away a couple of years ago but the things he told me as a young lad got me hooked in 1970 when at a family reunion Loggers Picnic I asked him about Roger and Bob and what they caught on film, well if you knew my great Uncle he was a no nonsense, honest as the day is long, trustworthy man. The kind of guy you wanted to be when you grew up, the type you wanted backing you up in an alley fight cause he wouldn't run and would have your back. Well when he looked me straight in the eye and said "lil buddy....Roger an Bob might have been a couple of wild ones in their youth by but they weren't Liars and if they say it's real and for true, well you can bank on that. From that very minute I was convinced Bigfoot was way more than just legend or hearsay. I'm in my late 50s now and want to talk to people like me who have seen and heard things there is no logical explanation for.1 point

Smoked sturgeon is really good stuff. It takes quite a bit of liquid courage for me to have caviar. Cannot get past I am eating bait until that happens.1 point

I am certainly on the same page as you with regard to the trolls. Probably a lot of people who might be thought to be BF researchers that have quit are like myself. At one point I had a youtube channel and was posting research results on line. That is like putting out meat to attract vultures with regard to the trolls. There is a segment of society that seems to feed on ridicule of others. While there were a few people who subscribed with genuine interest in the topic, the majority of responses were from millennial idiot trolls who probably think their neighborhood park is the woods. I got tired of the daily abuse from these people and finally deleted all of my posted videos and for the casual observer probably seemed like I got out of research. I just went underground for a few years. After my bout with COVID I decided to share more with forum members. More out of fear that what I know will be lost. . I had been holding back quite a bit as far as locations etc. If anyone on the forum does research in SW WA, I would be happy to divulge locations via private messaging. I will not share anything with BFRO members. While my research area has gone inactive due to logging, in 10 or 20 years the forest could have regrown enough to provide the cover for BF to return to the area. They seemed to be very reluctant to leave when the logging rolled through the area. I will not be around in 20 years but perhaps some of you will.1 point

The paracord came in more quickly than expected. I took at few pictures of the solid brown and brown-camo paracord next to one of my trailcams. The bark is Eastern White Pine. It shows the difference between a solid color and a camo pattern. The solid brown matches the brown color in the bark so it is as close as I can get. The camo contains the same brown but has lighter and darker color patterns as well. I am very pleased with the result as the brown-camo paracord nearly disappears even at close range. Someone looking at it from 50' will never see the paracord. I will use brown camo (the actual name of this paracord) whenever the trailcam is being attached to Eastern White Pine. It was purchased on eBay and it came in a Paracord Planet package. p.s. This trailcam took a lot of abuse so some bark has fallen off. You can see glue here and there. That will get fixed and the trailcam will be in ship shape by April.1 point

Since you guys are listening to various audio what do you think of this one? https://youtu.be/EVVGZZl0TKI 7 years ago, so its a little older. Daughter helped her mom post it to YouTube, She refuses to talk to anyone about it. Its about 45min away from my house and 30min outside my usual research area. As for the main question here, I went through the same phases several years ago. The various "groups" just didnt seem work for me, especially being in WV. There are 2 groups I know of in WV, one is the one I am co-founder of and the other is a group of rogues who see bigfoot every time they go out or find tracks etc... So I didn't mix well with them when I first started going out. If your looking for a group I suggest vetting them out first, make sure they are worth their salt, and trustworthy. Conferences in your region can help too. Again just be very guarded until you know for sure everything is on the up and up.1 point

I don't understand how she could not. After meeting with so many credible eye-witnesses, and experiencing things in the woods that she admitted had no explanation, and finding tracks? I don't get it.1 point

50 degrees here on the East side of Washington today. Girlfriend and I came down with Covid a week ago and have been miserable. She got it from her parents, who caught it at their weekly Bible study. She got sick last Sunday, then I got it Monday. Started feeling achy and out of sorts. We both went and got the quick tests from our company health clinic and both were negative. By Thursday, we were both barely able to function with horrible body aches, sore throats, fevers, and lost our sense of taste. I went to the hospital and got a PCR test done on Sunday as well as some steroids. Still waiting on my test results. She got another quick test this morning and was positive for Covid. We're both starting to feel a little better, but my throat is still raw. Doc said I was negative for strep and flu and is certain it's Covid. I've never been this sick for this long. Usually only a day or two under the weather. Never a week straight of being worthless.0 points

OK, you guys tell me something. This David Pallades (or however you spell his name) started, circa 2012, to research bigfoot-human hybrids. He identified the daughters of "Patrick" and had another individual who claimed to be half bigfoot and had some very strange anatomical features. This issue, if someone contains bigfoot genes, is something that can be researched and answered with certainty. Not only that but we gain exact information on bigfoot genes. It was a wonderful idea. But then this guy took a huge left turn and began "researching" people lost in the forest. David Palades is the one lost in a forest. Other than the obvious human and personal tragedies of people essentially dying, why is this of interest to anyone? I have lived in a forest for 30 years and people go missing all the time. Most go missing in National Parks where there is the most supervision of visitors. So instead of working to discover what bigfoot fundamentally really is, he dropped the ball completely and went off to joust windmills. Yet nobody has called this guy out, why? The least he could do if he refuses to follow up an obvious course of research is to turn that data over to someone who will follow it up.-1 points
