I think that's probably a bit of an over statement, especially on the religion and govt front. Most the bigfooters ive met in person are quite the religious bunch, and the govt would likely just pretend it never happened lol. This is nearly impossible. They are all protected sites these days and this is why: 20 miles down the road from me 180 mounds once stood, today there are 3 left all of which the center chambers had been excavated or partially excavated. These three are where 7-7.5 foot beings were found wearing very large copper adornments around their wrists and copper plates placed on their chests as well during burial. There is a protected field of 30 unlisted mounds that were going to conduct a LiDAR survey of this fall, any kind of NDI (non-distructive inspection) is permited at most historic sites. Thats lukely the only way were going to see anything in modern day.3 points

@Arvedis So my wife is a teacher and the US Govt has 100% controled the info taught in classrooms for the last 15 years. Its done through stamdardized testing, if its not on the test its not taught. Which is why classes like home economics, civics, and economics are no longer taught in schools. They simply are not on the tests. Even textbooks have been formated as such, if its not on the test its not in the text either.2 points

If there are any undiscovered mounds left they should not be disturbed. Whatever historical authority should deal with it in it's own time and underfunded kind of way. `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Have great efforts been exercised to suppress the knowledge and remains of Giants or Bigfoot? My bet is no but regardless, good luck to anyone finding the freezer. Is there a conspiracy to hide the true history of the Earth? How would the info be hidden? Outside of dictatorships and communism, governments generally don't tell their schools what to teach. My experience with western academics is they are not good liars. They are not paid off by anyone and want to get noticed for their ability to prove things. Freewheeling authors like Graham Hancock distort history more than the ivory tower. Is evidence hidden by the Smithsonian Institute to back up Darwin’s theory of evolution? Personally, I don't think so. Too much turnover in personnel and authority over the years to keep secrets The Smithsonian makes no money for anyone. It just needs money to stay open. The Smithsonian is not a holy shrine of wisdom. It's really it's own educational thing which is why they identify with an .edu domain. It's a history junkyard. Would the discovery of Giants or Bigfoot cause people to question evolution? Of course. Why would the Smithsonian cover up documented examples like the Arkansas Chickasawba mound or other giant skeletons from Native American Indian mounds? Maybe it's not a coverup. Maybe it never existed or they lost or misplaced evidence or maybe things weren't well run when it happened. In the wild frontier days, things got destroyed and stolen Sensationalist journalism is also unreliable. What policy determines which information makes it to mainstream historical knowledge? Like a government policy? That implies continual enforcement of policy despite changes in power over decades.2 points

Hi everyone - my name is Stephanie and I grew up in the PNW and currently live in Northern Alberta. I have had a couple encounters with Sasquatch type beings during my life. I am looking forward to discussing and continuing my journey towards increasing my knowledge of these beings.2 points

Well, getting the research year to a bit of a slow start here in WV until last weekend. We were supposed to head out to this site the weekend the report came in but we had a state wide ice storm that had us crippled for 6 days. We finally got on sote on Feb 27th and have been processing data since. This new research location is perfect IMO. 85 years worth of history, sightings of white BF and most recently, Feb 13th some Ohio howl like sounds were recorded. The biggest plus is the massive variety of food literally EVERYWHERE you turn. A family could easily rough it out there and survive fairly easily as thif family has for nearly a century. The witness was getting hounded but luckly recognized me, and trusted we would treat her encounter and the stories she had respectfully. We spent a day surveying the area cataloguing the food supply, fresh/clean water sources etc. Our witness also has some activity 2 days before we arrived where her husband claimed something had thrown gravel at him while he was taking the trash out. Nothing but a large well worn game trail to be found near the trash though, as expected. What wasn't expected though was the track way we found just before we left the site for the day. 5 deep impressions in the ground, most were in the recently sown grass and hay, but 2 were half in a creek and one just on the edge of a mountian stream, where it left toe impressions that had collected water from the previous rain that had come through. We cast the track and documented the others. The gaite ranged between 4.5ft and 5ft heres the one track that we were able to collect. A tuft of grass eliminated the ball of the foot, and some mud from the stream had been left in the footprint as well whoch is visible in the image of the print prior to casting. We documented the entire day using Video, 2 Audio recorders, and multiple cameras for stills. The full video will be up soon and I'll share it here Other footprints were found on the property but were in deep leaf litter and nondescript but worth noting.1 point

There are reports of very large hairy men, sometimes up to 20 ft. tall, in Alaska and Canada. These reports are rare but these reports do exist. They seem to differ from bigfoot in that they are tall but lean and sometimes are reported with four toes. Here is a short video: So the question is---are you on-board with this? Do you think they are real or are they legendary?1 point

Hi, I'm Craig. I've always been an outdoorsman, and it was only with time that I eventually had my own suspicions of the existence of something greater out there, stronger, and more intelligent than the typical brown bear. I believe only in scientific means of research and information which is what lead me here. I'm a local tour guide, and I see my fair share of wilderness. What was unexplainable happened back in 97' when I was heading to my van late after my shift, only to see what can be described as a pair of eyes staring right in my direction, far taller than any man or typical wildlife could be. Since then I've been surveying and keeping watch over the woods, but have yet to get any visable photos or audio on camera. Hoping to find some like-minded people and new findings.1 point

That is the million dollar question, and one I would like the answer to. What would it take to gain permission for an archaeological excavation of the burial mounds for the purpose of exhuming and investigating these giant skeletons?1 point

So this is a topic ive actually been writing a book about over the last 3 years (literally). As late as the late 90's the Giants discovered here in the mounds of WV were actually in our textbooks and taught as part of "West Virginia History". The "coverup" was conducted by simply using idiots to do the work guaranteeing misshandeling of artifacts and remains. There were 3 giants exhumed from the Charleston area, 1 in the Creil Mound, 2 from the Shawnee mound. Dont let the names fool ya, they were both constructed by the Adena here in the state around the same time that Moses was leading Israelites out of egypt. A vast majority of the artifacts went missing, there is a paper record of 1 of the Giants being returned, for re-burial, to the deleware. Once that return took place and the ceremony preformed the remaines are set to never be disturbed again. We also turned up what we believe to be the earliest bigfoot Effigy on historic record in a private collection of artifacts that had been removed from the mounds illegally, and had been found at artifact dump sites along the Ohio River (yep thats a thing, blew my mind but attests to the degree of misshandeling) the tribal lore of " the other tribe" "elder brother" etc began as peaceful and had elements of co-habitation. It wasnt until the tribes began to war with themselves that the stories of "red haired giants", "cannibal giants", and "wars with gaints" started poping up in their history. So my big question Is 7-7.5 ft really a giant human or does that sound like something that were a bit more familiar with on this forum?1 point

Actually Dr. Mayor answered those very questions in her latest video. I think she is being sincere. Perhaps I was too rush to judgement since the press release does reveal quite a bit on second read. However, I do expect to be disappointed since I'm not jiving with the show. I think the most amazing part of this not a blip of a reaction on social media. I have not seen anything at all, not even on the show's own postings with promo clip. Not a reaction from anyone at all so far in bigfootery that I have seen except here.1 point

Evolution is self-evident. A revelation of existence of bigfoot or that giants existed in some form would not affect my appreciation of clear and ongoing evolution in the prehistoric and historic record. A conspiracy of existence of giants from the record is a fascinating subject. I do often wonder that it seems that the history of the North American mound-builders seems haphazard, at best. And thus I wonder if that history is neglected or actively suppressed.1 point

I try not to think about it. I say that in the sense that you are interpreting and predicting rather than observing and concluding. I think interpreting and predicting is what has gotten us to the standstill we're at because it leads us to look for data in certain places and overlook data from others. We really need to start with the whole of the data and let it guide us rather than cherrypicking data that supports pet theories. I hope that does not sound too harsh. It is merely my honest opinion. That your post follows mine warning of that trap shows just how insidious the trap truly is. We seem to be "wired" to fall into it, to dive into it, even when we're saying we're avoiding it. Very interesting. I have always wondered if there is some sort of connection between the Sasquatch and the discovery of giant humanoid bones during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The North American Indians had legends of Sasquatch type creatures and a race of giant men and the stories do have several similarities. For one thing, both the hairy Sasquatch like giants and the giant men were described as cannibals. Both had hostile encounters with the native tribes. Several Indian legends claim the continent was inhabited by a civilized race of giants before they arrived. If Sasquatch are a type of hominid, then perhaps they were the ones responsible for the ancient burial mounds and left behind the remains of giant humanoid skeletons. If this is true however, the Sasquatch has certainly gone through a considerable process of de-evolution as they have not to my knowledge even been reported to use even stone age level of technology with the exception of clubs in a few reports. Though apes have been known to use blunt objects as weapons also. Still, I find it statistically unlikely that North America contained two unrelated types of humanoid giants. So I feel if the stories of human giants are true then there most likely is some sort of a connection. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this matter?1 point

Please clarify the question. Are you meaning seeing people hiking through the forest, camping, fishing, hunting, etc., or just standing on the bluff and watching the cars go by on the interstate a mile away? In other words, a fairly close interaction (even if it is unknown at the time to the humans involved), or a distant awareness of humans? I would say no to the first part and probably to the second. And I agree with Bobby, the ones in the boondocks of Canada and Alaska probably have had little, if any, interactions, with the possible exception of an aircraft flying overhead, with humans. Those in the CONUS are probably all too aware of humans and their activities. I would say almost all of them have had at least some type of contact with humankind, even if it is only crossing a road or watching cars pass by.1 point

One of the reasons I suspect this whole theory could be true is that we can say things like "never in the history of homo sapiens sapiens has it ever been the only bipedal mammal." In fact, there's a neat little chart in this Bob Gymlan video It clearly shows how often multiple species shared the earth. And the statement he makes about people who think we are alone now when we haven't been for our entire history being like believing the earth is flat is spot on.1 point

There might be a kid out there somewhere who sees EB and has his lifelong interest in the subject kindled... just like In Search Of and MonsterQuest did for a lot of us when we were younger. Maybe that kid will be the one who grows up and finally solves the Bigfoot mystery once and for all. As long as it doesn't make the search for Sasquatch out to be a laughingstock, then the show has some value.1 point

Well, to be fair, some fat guys (and gals) ARE bigfoot hunters LOL! Talking about myself. Ouch. But I'm neither a liar nor paid to do what I do, so there's the difference! That said I've never seen the show, nor do I plan to. All those shows are ENTERTAINMENT. Don't look to them for much true research value. I do like to whoop and hollar if nothing is happening though at the end of a hike It might work (though it hasn't in two years).1 point
