  1. The denials of skeptics is just amusing noise. I'd rather skeptics exist in ignorance than expose these creatures to the awareness of mankind. I fail to see what humanity can do for the benefit these creatures.

  2. Camped last Saturday night in one of the quietest places I can remember. One Pileated woodpecker and a couple of others and that was it. Found a large track way but we're pretty sure it was melted out Moose tracks. Distance between toe-to-toe was about 48"-51+" so ruled out Black Bear. Still a bit early for them anyway: The tracks themselves weren't all that well defined: On the way into the second campsite on Sunday we had to cross a causeway connecting two bogs. We scoped out the site and then walked around to do some exploring. Nothing, and so we drove out with me following and I stopped on the causeway with my windows down to listen. From pretty far away out my passenger window I heard four knocks- like someone chopping wood (not gun shots)- followed by a pause, a single knock followed by a pause, and then three more knocks and quiet for then on. I had no cell service so had to catch up to my buddy and we both came back to listen further but there was nothing and so drove out. My researcher friend wasn't staying the second night so left later and I went back in and re-crossed the causeway and camped for the night. Monday morning I packed up and again stopped on the causeway to listen, but this time I had a cheap video recorder going when I stepped out of the truck. Wouldn't you know, I was able to capture a single knock that was closer than the one the previous. Only one. It felt good that I at least this time I got this one knock on record. This was my first time EVER for getting any kind of evidence whether it be tracks, knocks, tree falls, or stick structures. None of that has ever happened before. Now it was warming up when that knock sound happened so it could have been a section of tree thawing out or ice expanding on the bog but since the day before saw a series of similar, more rapid occurrences it leaves the question open as to the source of the single one the following day. Both incidents happened at about the same time of day with the second event much closer than the first. Here is a short audio with the truck noise cleaned up followed by a image of the sonogram: Possible BF Knock.mp3

  3. Hello all, I am excited to be here and read your posts. I think that bigfoot is real as there is much evidence pointing to that. I hope that one day I will be able to verify that with my own eyes/ears/nose. I am from western Canada and I believe that we are a prime habitat for Bigfoot but due to our sparce population, we do not have as many encounters as places with a more dense human population. This year I am hoping to make some solo hikes deep into the back country where I hope that I will have some sort of sensory encounter with the big manlike creature. Thank you for allowing me to participate in this exciting phenom with you.

  4. Last year, I encountered two Timber Rattlers and both chose not to strike. I contacted a number of herpetologists and 7 of them responded to me. I was curious about the likelihood of a strike above the knee. All of them said they have never heard of one but could imagine it could happen it you were walking up an incline, and the rattler was above you, or if you sat down on a log or rock and it could reach your thigh. There was no reason to take any chances so I bought a pair of chaps from Turtleskin, the same company that makes the snake gaiters. They are very lightweight and flexible and are used when going off trail. When wearing them, there is no concern where I step. They're light enough that you can bring the chaps in your pack and take off the snake gaiters and put on the chaps. When away from the vertical, take off the chaps and put on the gaiters. https://turtleskin.com/default/total-protection-snake-chaps.html The other rattler-related change I've made is to wear leather boots that are thick enough to fend off a bite. That's been a bit of a transition as I've always worn low trail runners when in the woods. Not any more in snake country.

  5. Thats what skeptics say about the whole subject.... That eruption killed everything that walks, crawls, flies or swims. Why would Bigfoot catch a break?

  7. Have been interested in BF since my teen years, growing up in western WA state. I was heavily involved with Boy Scouts, as a youth and went on many hikes in and around Mt. St Helens (prior to eruption) and along the PCT. Had my first encounter on Mt. St Helens, in fact. Since that time I have spent considerable time in the forests of WA, OR, MT, CA and ID. There is definitely something out there.

  8. Even a juvenile would be difficult to capture alive, I think. Too little anthesia and you have a ticked off.... something. If it is a primate, even a small one, it's going to fight like a primate...all testicles and spectacles (eyes and groin). Too much, and you now have a dead something. It would have been easier to use a regular firearm. You could set a trap of some sort, a la Mountain Monsters. But, their strength, intelligence, speed, etc. would have to be taken into account and neutralized. Btw, @hiflier... ETA: Skinwalker tagged Hiflier while I was posting

  9. I refuse to believe you are that gullible. We'll make you the first guest researcher on... Sasquatch Myth Busters (it's a new mythical reality show).

  10. That's more believable than the possibility that a few of these things were killed in a natural disaster that killed everything else in the area? And that the possibility of a coverup of those deaths is completely ridiculous? That's basically saying that they are unkillable and uncatchable...or incorporeal.

  11. Surely an early warning system of some kind that animals have, why not Bigfoot. Bigfoot always escapes. He moves swiftly to other domains, dropping gigantic deuces in its wake.
