In my opinion, not being together yields the best results. We are all think tanks. We approach things differently and we view how we get to the end result differently. Do we want one think tank or one thousand think tanks? One mouse trap or the never-ending search for a better mouse trap. In my opinion, the best result is achieved by a thousand think tanks working separately but sharing their methods and results.4 points

Spare the new folks who don't know any better and might try to actually read it and follow along.2 points

I’ve also heard over and over again about evidence kept in secret. That you have to be in “special circles” to see it. Personally I think it’s all stories. Probably because I’m on the outside looking in Lol. That being said, we are not entitled to anyone’s evidence they choose not to share or keep in their “special circle”. I would just recommend keeping claims of it to themselves vs. claiming they have it but not be willing to share.2 points

Feel better? I think DNA isn't going to do it either. Its too close to human and too fanciful for scientists to take seriously. I would be happy to be wrong. They are gonna scratch the surface of your sample, its looking like a human so..... human. Maybe in the future as technology evolves.... Dump a body in their lap? Pretty hard to say its human. How many people are willing to pull the trigger? Not many. So I guess we sit here and contemplate hidden videos that researchers wont share. If your fired up about organization and common goals? Have you thought about the BFRO? Or some other group active in your area? Or start your own?1 point

The government would certainly have a number of motives for not wanting the public to be aware of the existence of upright bipedal primates. Especially if the species is a potentially dangerous apex predator with near-human intelligence.1 point

I would try to track it down, but that would mean trying to rewatch every Bigfoot doc on Prime right now. I might try and look at the available ones tonight and see if it jumps out at me.1 point

No, we are not. Because if we were, and I mean TRULY were, then we would have a plan. But there is no plan and that's because we are in fact not in this together. Everyone goes their separate ways as always. We're interested in the same subject and that's as far as it goes. And that's fine, but it stifles the hell out of progress.1 point

This reminds me of a Bigfoot documentary I saw once, I cant remember which one. But basically, this guy in Florida claims to have hit and killed a bipedal ape-like creature crossing the road with his truck. And shortly thereafter government agents allegedly appeared and swore him to secrecy telling him that what he ran over was a bear. There may in fact be some truth to this, I don't know, the gentleman was interviewed on the documentary and his face was hidden behind a dark shadow and they changed his voice.1 point

Yes, both good examples of "apparent" disappearance. This may be the more likely scenario for most cases. I agree. I also think that Dave Paulides does a great job with his investigations and reporting. Separating the wheat from the chaff is not always easy in the BF world but I think there are credible witnesses, stories, reporting, and evidence that we can apply scientific methods to tilt either toward truth or fiction.1 point

I'm an open-minded skeptic, one who hopes proof of the creature's existence is proven, sooner the better. When it comes to those claiming they possess or have seen crystal clear video or film footage, I tread downright nearly to being a scofftic. If you find that offensive, prove me wrong.1 point

This is one of the more frightening scenarios. If something has Predator capabilities, a 454 Casull or 45-70 isn't going to help defensively. The one case discussed at the end of the book, Missing 411: The Hunted, involved two very credible individuals and issues science can't explain. I think about this possibility and it is very unsettling to me especially being out alone.1 point

I deal with this fairly frequently for some reason while talking to people who claim to have activity. Like you said, no one is entitled to to anyone else's property or evidence. But, why even bring it up if you are not going to share it? If it is that big of a secret why even mention it? I have a guy a few hours north of me who currently claims to have a game cam pic of a Bigfoot face that was captured when it tore down his camera. If course, he was sworn to secrecy by his fellow investigators and can never share it. It just seems like an odd thing to do... openly talk about a huge secret like that. I have never once had anyone show me exceptional private footage...of course, if they had and then sworn me to secrecy...then I guess that I couldn't talk about it here anyway.1 point

Apologizing to one member while trashing another, Inc1? Make up your mind. If you're not going to apologize to me for your "stick" comment then just get off my back and stay off.0 points

Oh good, can't wait until I can be complacent again but I doubt it will happen. Hasn't yet. What few of you understand is that for me there is ALWAYS an edge regarding why we are still spinning our wheels. As in no monkey. Anyone else feel that? Okay, so you have a plan, others have their own individual plans. Heck, even I have a plan. And we've ALL kinda worked our respective plans. But in truth, doesn't anyone think that there could be something better than what we've been doing? Ad no one is really any better than anyone else. I know I'm not, so it doesn't comes down to the individual, but to the methodology. IMHO, there's something missing in that. This thread is about videos. But everyone says videos aren't proof. Photos, footprints, stick structures, howls, tree knocks, eyeshine, strong odors, "bipedal sounds in the woods, feces, hair, reports......none of it is proof. Well then why bother with it if we all know none of it is proof. Then what is? Because that's what we should be going after. And now those who have said they don't want proof or that they've proven things for themselves and don't care about anyone else? The floor is open. But for those who think proof is the ultimate goal then only two things will suffice. Shoot one or get it's DNA. All other discussions, while fun and interesting, do not move the needle one bit, as the last couple of decades have so obviously shown. So the question remains...who wants to see the needle move? Or are we just here forever? I mean it looks like we take Sasquatch seriously....but only to a point. And like Norseman says: prove me wrong.-1 points

I think I have a solution to your problem, but it might hurt, a little. You bend over, I'll grab the stick, and you then walk forward. Voila!-1 points

You must be joking. Have you checked in on what's on the slab lately? Or in the last 65 years? No? Well, take it from me, nothing is on the slab. And nothing is laying across anyone's hood. Obviously what you say "yields the best results" isn't yielding the best results. Unless, of course, "best results" actually means "no Bigfoot" This isn't a chastisement, it's a reality check. Nothing more, nothing less.-1 points

You've never accepted the science and you never will. You still think it's powerless and in its infancy? Then how can moth species in Nigeria that look identical be determined to be actually at least ten different species? Yes, DNA testing is that good. The Maine Northern and southern Bog Lemmings look virtually identical. But genetically they are different. If that determination wasn't possible then how do you think crime labs tell the DNA of one Human from another and how close is THAT? DNA study has taken me out of the Dark Ages of species determination and given real hope for BF discovery. Don't accept that? Fine. Don't accept it. I've given you real-world examples of DNA differentiation capabilities. But if you don't think it can prove a Sasquatch over a Human? Then I can't help ya.-1 points

Useless. And I hope you get one. Sincerely, I really do. It would surely get the genome in the GenBank! Same to you. Same here.-1 points

Sounds like an pretty easy thing to do. I'll just stop going into the field and just.......hope its existence gets proven. In fact why don't we ALL just sit and hope its existence gets proven. And no one need be a skeptic to do that either. Proponents can just hope, too! C'mon, it'll be fun-2 points
