  1. I agree that the spotted owl calls are similar. Let me just check the range map. Oops... my sounds were recorded near the yellow arrow. Edit: A juvenile Barred Owl could be a possibility. Check the last sound clip. Not quite the same, but maybe?... https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Barred_Owl/sounds

  3. Hello! I have yet another question for those who are interacting or have interacted with Sasquatch, unsure if this has already been discussed. I'm wondering which bird calls are being attributed to Sasquatch in your area of research? I know many people hear diurnal birds at night (and reverse), owl calls that don't seem to be from owls, etc. Have any of you experienced such odd bird calls and is it common in your research area?

  4. I stayed at a remote wilderness cabin in the Smokey Mountains region and the proprietor said he once had a guest (a mother and two children) who were hiking in the woods and they heard a very deep snorting sound. They ran back into the cabin and locked all of the doors and told the proprietor that a Bigfoot was in the area. They never claimed to see anything just heard the noise. I enquired further about the incident and the proprietor said it was most likely a buck snort. Granted the woman was probably not too familiar with the forest, but this leads me to wonder if Sasquatches might potentially mimic buck snort.

  5. Direct reports of Bigfoot being observed mimicking wildlife? No. Just like we have no direct reports of them being seen making a tree structure or a wood knock. But, it sounded odd. Like I said, I didn't see what made it and it didn't sound like a normal owl.... however, it could have been just a weird sounding owl. I have never heard it again in that area.

  6. Hi I'm Jorge from California. I've always been a big believer in Sasquatch ever since my mom(rest in peace) saw one when I was a kid. I've traveled across the country looking for the elusive beast. I am very interested in joining the community of believers and I was recommended this forum by a good friend of mine.

  7. I'd suggest one should just go to a fairly active trail, step off to the side and don't move and you to will "disappear", no camo needed. I have had a few encounters with trespassers while turkey hunting, and I highly do not recommend this, but it has been hilarious being "invisible" while they hunt me. I've even whistled at them, that's when they leave and go report a Bigfoot encounter LOL. The whistling I've done many times as a youth out of a tree stand as well, its a very interesting reaction, to watch people that realize, they are being watched.

  8. Greetings, I'm Samantha from New York. I've been fascinated with Bigfoot since seeing something on tv as a child, probably In Search Of. But I didn't get really into it until I saw a stabilized PGF. I am fascinated by the PGF and Dr Meldrum's studies of the mid tarsal break. I'll probably just lurk for the most part but I enjoy reading the discussions even if I don't participate.

  10. Hello Bigfoot Forums, I’m John in Washington, lived in Alaska for 25 years and have had some experiences that caused me to look beyond the ape hypothesis and consider paleo-hominid explanations..Also torpor in cold weather.. I’ve witnessed a 7&1/2 foot bipedal, hair-covered hominid walking, then accelerating to a run into the bush 50 yards in front of my car, with a speed that was uncanny.. tree twists and breaks as well as woven vegetation.. my game cams got so twisted around and messed with I gave them all away.. I often wonder if whatever it was that messed with them could have a visual sensitivity to the edge of the IR spectrum, as the cams were the quietest and most reliable going.. Glad to be here! Thanks for you all being here too!

  11. Hey there, I've been interested in Sasquatch since I was a little kid. I moved to Ohio a while back, was surprised it was such a hotspot for bigfoot activity.

  13. Hello, I have been an active researcher (audio for the most part) since around 2010. I have some very good audio captures and have had a couple of fleeting visuals.

  14. Hello all, I am excited to be here and read your posts. I think that bigfoot is real as there is much evidence pointing to that. I hope that one day I will be able to verify that with my own eyes/ears/nose. I am from western Canada and I believe that we are a prime habitat for Bigfoot but due to our sparce population, we do not have as many encounters as places with a more dense human population. This year I am hoping to make some solo hikes deep into the back country where I hope that I will have some sort of sensory encounter with the big manlike creature. Thank you for allowing me to participate in this exciting phenom with you.

  16. Have been interested in BF since my teen years, growing up in western WA state. I was heavily involved with Boy Scouts, as a youth and went on many hikes in and around Mt. St Helens (prior to eruption) and along the PCT. Had my first encounter on Mt. St Helens, in fact. Since that time I have spent considerable time in the forests of WA, OR, MT, CA and ID. There is definitely something out there.

  17. That second one almost sounds porcine in nature. Any pigs in in the area? The first one is strange. Sounds like Chewbacca in the garbage chute. IDK

  18. One thing about birds .. so I've told about the first night visit in 2011 in the pitch black when 3 or more "things" were around our camp, about the inability to breath, even mouth-breath, without great labor, and about the muscles in my face spasming, and about the pressure waves I could feel inside my eyes, then about the wood knocks. As the worst of that subsided, maybe 45 minutes into it, I guess I fell asleep. I woke some time shortly after midnight and the moon had come up. It was no longer blacker than the inside of a boot in a dark closet at midnight, it was very bright out. At that point, I noticed how heavily, "deathly" silent it had been before ... because it no longer was. I could hear fish spash in the lake and I was hearing a lot of birds in the trees around camp. That was when I knew things were normal again. I'm not used to day birds at night, but on a bright moonlight night, some, sometimes a lot, will be out and active. My point is this: hearing day birds at night is not a definite sign of bigfoot mimicry. We have to be walk a careful balance between accepting the truth of what is while not getting caught up in the moment and accepting for truth things that are not. MIB
