  2. I can't believe that I am wading into this train wreck of a thread, but... I don't even comprehend what a lot of you are trying to propose. We want to get rid of the infighting and bickering in the community and become a united front...but, then immediately begin to talk about how a large segment of people immediately need to be shut out due to their theories. If you are just looking for flesh and blood, no-kill folks who are going to actually do anything more than the usual wood knock, howl, 'let's leave a bag of marbles on this stump'...then rinse and repeat...good luck. If someone wants to actually put a body on the slab and prove it, or if they have had any other strange things happen to them while they were in the field...take a hike. That's unity all right. I have just skimmed through this thread, but so far the ideas seem to go like this...well funded, organized teams in the field spending extended periods of time conducting research. Established professionals in the scientific community who back the investigation who are committed to the search for Bigfoot. Almost everyone who is involved in this has to fund it out of their own pockets and have to balance their field time with the demands of real life. I am out more often than many other people...and it is a part time pursuit for me by necessity. I guess that I could all in and end up living in a shack like Dahinden, but I guess that I am not that dedicated to the cause. Short of getting that mythical deep pocket patron who wants to set you up with equipment and then pay you a stipend for looking for Sasquatch...the only way to devote yourself full time to this sort of thing is to make it self funding. Heaven forbid that someone tries that, because then they are going to be attacked as 'selling out'. Write a book, make a podcast, star in a show...and this forum will freaking release the hounds and go after you. I understand that I am saying this on a forum of grown men (and women) who devote a large percentage of their time to the study and pursuit of something that the general public doesn't believe exists...but, I have to wonder how much of this stuff is based in reality as opposed to some sort of live action role play type of fantasy. It's the same thing that we saw in the thread where we were discussing a possible BFF youtube channel. Things immediately went out of the realm of actual possibility into this weird sort of fantasy land. 'Hey, let's each shoot a clip and then cut them together into a single video to showcase the field investigators on the forum'. That somehow morphed into livestreams from the woods (who has signal out there?), celebrity hosts, etc. It's like it is just a fantasy to indulge yourself in as opposed to building something that might actually be possible. Same thing with the eDNA thread. Lots of conjecture and grandiose plans, but nothing actionable ever came of it...because it got too complicated. Here's an eDNA plan. Get a group of people in different areas around the country who agree to follow established and agreed upon eDNA collection procedures and commit to gathering possible samples for study. Find a lab who is open to testing the samples. Determine the price and then determine if we have the resources. If the resources are available, the members involved then collect samples as they are able and then the samples are sent in for testing. The results are shared openly with the forum. Bam. Done. There's your plan. From the what I can make out, a lot of the discussion here is how can the members of this forum work together to strategically to bring us closer to discovery. To some degree, it already does that. At least it does for me. I communicate with a handful of other field researchers who I would not have otherwise connected with. We bounce ideas off of one another, give each other recommendations for equipment or practices in the field. Skinwalker has been a wellspring of knowledge...especially in the area of casting. Of course, this communication takes place via messages as opposed to open discussion on the forum, but that is due to necessity. The reality of the situation is...we have a handful of people who are involved in a varying degrees of field research or the categorization and recording of data related to the phenomena. We are scattered across North America and few if any of us are able to devote long periods of time in the field in different parts of the country. We are not going to fund any groups of researchers to be in the field for any length of time. Unless some of you have been holding out on sharing it, we don't have any billionaires as members here. We are not going to collectively convince any scientists that Bigfoot exists...not with a letter writing campaign and honestly not with some poop in a plastic bag that might come back as having human DNA in it and as a result be immediately labeled as tainted. Scientists are paid to do science...and unless their employer is paying them to look into Bigfoot, then the best that we can hope for is that an occasional one will have some personal interest in the topic and will utilize some of their personal expertise and resources to look into it. We are not going to set up elaborate, expensive operations. It's just not going to happen. If you think so, please refer to the Youtube thread that I referenced earlier. Here. You want a plan to utilize the resources of this forum to advance the search for Sasquatch? Encourage communication and the sharing of information between the members here who are actively involved in field research. Set up a reporting function independent of the BFRO where witnesses can inform us of recent sightings. Gigantor has already started this. The BFF is an established entity that doesn't take full advantage of its name recognition in the field. Take advantage of it and have this be an alternative to the BFRO or some crappy Bigfoot Facebook page. Establish which researchers are available for each region to possibly investigate those sightings. Have those researchers share the results of their investigation here with their peers. Each researcher is still independent and does not need to conform to one single style of investigation or even one single belief in the origin of the phenomenon. If funding is available, use it strategically on projects that will give us the most bang for our buck...like the eDNA testing or the Researcher of the Year contest...knowing that those projects may only enable the eventual discovery as opposed to some sort of Bigfoot proof silver bullet. When those projects are decided upon by the forum, put volunteer members in charge of the planning and execution. We always seem to suffer from all chiefs, no Indians. Keep it simple. All of these things are doable. All of these things are realistic. They are not as glamorous as some of the ideas floated here and will more than likely not result in some sort of immediate acceptance or proof of the phenomenon. But, they are REALISTIC.

  3. The late, great Bobbie Short's interview with Aeron Paul Wilson. The interview is regarding Wilson mistaking a bent-over Sasquatch for a black bear, and sending an arrow into the creature, which proved fatal. The hunter provides an absolutely detailed description of the event, and of the body of the creature. Hoping you'll enjoy the interview as much as I did.

  4. Its called “it takes MONEY”..... How is it working for everyone? About the same as everyone ELSE? At least when I blow on my predator call with a freakin GUN in my hand Hiflier!? I’ve got a freaking chance!? How’s your rubber gloves and zip lock baggie working for you? I told you that I would support your DNA study by getting you hair and scat samples.... hello? You gotta lab address I can send em to yet? No.... of course not. You say mentally flexible? I say wishy washy.... You don’t stick to anyone thing. You blow with the wind. You jump on bandwagons like your running for Homecoming King. While throwing all your old nerdy friend under the bus..... I haven’t taken things to extreme here YOU have. I wasted my time helping you write a PRO KILL book! I’m such a idiot huh? Hey Hiflier? Lose my number.... I’ll be over here with my pitch fork under the torch light. When you pull yer head outta the sand? You know where to find me.

  5. Attention Witnesses: This thread contains information about active BFF researchers and the areas they cover. If you want to contact a researcher, please send them a private message, do not post your sighting report in this thread. If you want to post your sighting report, please do so here. Thank You! Attention Researchers: You must be an active researcher willing to be contacted by witnesses. You should post a sighting report of any investigation in the sightings section. Attention Members: Please do not post in this thread at all for any reason.

  7. What would solve the mystery in the absence of a corpse and having all that dna for reusable testing? Hair samples won't do it. That argument died a while ago. Meldrum talks about it because he has nothing else to offer up and hair samples are in abundance. Forget hair. What about feces? Why is it so many rural areas with verifiable BF activity report giant feces piles yet none of that ever makes it to a lab? Perhaps a grass roots campaign to alert rural folks of the need for Bigfoot feces. Along with it, a recommended process to collect samples so chain of custody becomes evidence. Instead of a reality show, there can be PSA clips. "You don't know me but I'd like to discuss Bigfoot with you. The discovery of Bigfoot needs your help. If you have feces on your property or an area with known Bigfoot activity, we'd like to see it...." Etc.

  10. And for the record there's a lot of evidence out there. And it's not hard to find. We ALL started out as skeptics. Each and every experience affects each and every individual in it's own way. Maybe not try so hard. Let them come to you. They will show themselves on their accord. That's all I can tell you.😉

  11. If that is what you seek, ask and you shall find. Start a thread specifically for that reason. That's not what this one is about. That's rather insulting. Plenty of people here have had encounters. I've never seen one, am doubtful they exist, but I did have something weird happen once when I was out in the woods and it has made me, though a skeptic, keep an open mind so yeah, we do know what it does to you. Nevermind us, some of us are just tired of hiflier always yelling about how Bigfoot hasn't been proven and no one is doing anything about it, at least not to hiflier's satisfaction.

  12. I hope this is a reasonable question but is there a place I could go and talk with those that have had experiences with these beings? The arguments here are from those that have no idea of what the experience does for you once you have had that experience. I'm not trying to be an ass clown but the arguments just continue to go to personal attacks and I for one to refuse to have those conversations.

  13. You seem like a great person, but there is a-lot wrong with your statement. First and foremost? Many researchers are NOT trying to prove the creatures existence! Secondly? We already have ZERO credibility with science. Just with the foot cast, PGF crowd.... Let alone the portal woo crowd. Lastly? 99% of the the BF crowd are anti kill. The mindset is that the weight of reports and trace evidence will slowly destroy the bias of the scientific community. More foot casts, more audio, more reports. The PGF is what? 50 plus years old! Science has never wavered on it requiring physical evidence!!! So? We as a community can either accept that and take it on as our goal? Or we continue casting foot casts and recording whoops in the night. And then bitching about why science wont accept our evidence! How many of us are working with a genetic lab? Scientists on speed dial? Biologists? Anthropologists? How many of us own a rifle, a knife and a 4x4? Leave the ultra whiz bang sciency stuff to the scientists. Most of us dont even truly understand what we are talking about when it comes to genetics! How was the Bili ape discovered? Through the bush meat trade! Yes call it pitchforks and torches if you like? Its the reality of the situation. If your goal is to discover a new species of primate in north America. If you have helicopters, and net cannons and an army of geneticists at your beck and call? Then obviously you have more options on your plate than the layman Bigfooter.... So I guess we can just continue to act cool and tiptoe around the issue while using cool sounding words? Or we can hit the woods and roll up our shirt sleeves and prepare to get dirty. I know which i prefer...

  14. One thing desperately needs to be said, however. In order to facilitate discovery and species recognition the Bigfoot community needs to set aside its differences and come together. In a research community as large as ours it is inevitable that there are going to be different perspectives on the subject. Pro Kill vs No Kill, Ape hypothesis vs Hominid hypothesis, which type of evidence is helpful and which is useless, interpretations over certain types of evidence etc... The list could go on and on, but this petty infighting is getting us no where. Instead, what we should do is recognize that while their are inevitably going to be differences, we ultimately all have the same goal, species discovery. We are all Bigfoot researchers and enthusiasts. With this in mind, there are only two doctrines that I believe all rational Bigfoot researchers can and should agree upon. 1. That Bigfoot is a real, flesh and blood creature from this planet (either ape or hominid), paranormal beliefs and their proponents should be rightfully excluded from our community, as they only serve to discredit an already controversial subject and make it all the more difficult for responsible researchers to be taken seriously, and 2. That hoaxing and hoaxers shall not be tolerated and known hoaxers should be openly denounced and ostracized from the community. Other than those two essential doctrines their, or should be, much room for differences in opinion and research methodology. If the Bigfoot community sets aside its minor differences, because really those differences are minor in the wider scheme of things, than we will be much more prepared to achieve our ultimate goal. Species discovery and scientific classification. I apologize in advance for the rant. Just my two cents.

  15. I'm glad you both got out, and your conditions look pretty much like what I found on Sunday, wet spring snow and blowdowns. I'm hoping to get out again this coming weekend, the weather is supposed to be great.

  16. You don't seem to mind derailing other folks threads, like you did here. All you ever do is stamp your feet and demand Bigfoot be discovered and accuse others of having ulterior motives. I don't recall you ever doing so much as post an interesting photo or video.

  17. Report. Went back to my old haunts behind Lake Ellen. Got almost to the cow corrals before the snow got to deep. And I didn’t want to chance it again! 😬 Saw a lot of moose sign, blow downs from all the wind we are having and the skunk cabbage is in full bloom. I did find two tracks in a spring off the side of the road. Pretty old. Nothing I would send to Meldrum but they were human shaped with a heel. No toes visible and they were bigger than my size 12 boots. So? Who knows? Both pictures have a .45-70 shell for comparison and the tracks are pointing left. On the way out I snuck onto the Rez and checked out Elbow lake. Cool area! The tribe has logged back in there recently. White mountain has a lot of snow on it still. Last pic is of the Columbia river on the way out and they are still feeding the Angus bulls together on the Cowley ranch.

  18. Oh, and it was my new brush rifle's first time out in the brush. Still waiting on the Vortex Venom to get back from Vortex. First one was bad out of the box. But, the rifle carried well and I really liked the Limbsaver Kodiak Lite sling...

  19. Got out in the woods today, finally. Sunny and breezy with temps in the low 60's. Headed East into Idaho and saw a little bit of snow on the hills. Got to my secret morel spot and there was no snow and very little mud. The surrounding area showed signs of excessive winds with several large trees down. You can see their root balls spread out over the area. The area next to my clear cut area got logged heavily last year. Lots of elk and deer sign... Got all excited at finding what I thought initially was a tree structure... But, upon closer inspection and the high winds in the area earlier, I think it was likely just a random phenomenon. Still, it was odd. Trunks showed evidence of lots of force and twisting... Still too early for morels and too late for antlers, so no bounty. Decided to go check out a really Squatchy area deeper in the woods, but there ended up being a lot of heavy, frozen snow and I nearly got stuck a couple of times when my 4Runner broke through the crust. Turned around and got buried a couple of times on the way out, but didn't take pictures. I was puckered up pretty bad and just wanted to get back to dirt. Just got a pic on the way in before I started sinking in.

  21. Patty IS a fit for what I saw. Not exact, but correct. Patty is female. Imagine her male counterpart if the species has marked sexual dimorphism. Assume she's 7'3" to 7'6", then picture 10-1/2 feet with more bulk to the shoulders, less to the belly .. not a lot, but "it's there." If she's 6'2" like some claim, then you get an even different picture with 10-1/2 feet. Then, again starting with Patty, assume she's a slightly pudgy middle aged mom ... now picture the equivalent of her 13 year old son, her height, but still relatively spindly ... spindly like a human tight end or power forward. So .. dunno what these people you mention, or you, saw, but what I saw is biologically consistent with Patty. That's why when I finally did see the P-G-F, it was a no-brainer to me: that's real, that's in the ballpark with what I'd expect the female matching the male or the mom matching the late juvenile / early adolescent I saw SHOULD look like. I do not expect them to be cookie cutter duplicates in size, bulk, hair color or length, ... or temperment. That's biology: look for bell curves. MIB

  22. What are you trying to do here with that kind of a statement? Kill a rare, rather incredible and amazing species? Especially i you think it's real? That's the best you can come up with? Tell me something, Sir, might you think that getting behind science and giving them a good sound collective nudge in the right direction would be time better spent? Because having an affinity for a military style operation is again a "you go get 'em" kind of thing. This thread is, again, intended for a "we" thing. There's no room for torches and pitchforks.

  23. After years of taking a No Kill position, I have reluctantly concluded that taking a type specimen is the only way to prove the creature's existence. Taking a type specimen will likely take a lot of time, effort, and perseverance especially considering how elusive and intelligent the species is. We already know the animal's habitat, the Pacific Northwest from Northern California to Southern Alaska. There probably are other, much smaller and more isolated populations in the American South and an even smaller population in the Eastern United States. But the Pacific Northwest is where the vast majority of credible reports come, and has the most suitable habitat in North America for a large, unclassified primate, so that is where we need to concentrate our search. At least in my opinion. As I stated before a few pages back, the best way, in my opinion, to take a type specimen is with a large, dedicated, well-equipped and well-trained group of researchers divided into many smaller teams spending months at a time in prime Sasquatch habitat and continuing the search until a specimen is taken. Looking for trackways would be the first step. If we could find structure and remain in place in that area until one shows up, even better. The problem is, we are likely dealing with a highly intelligent apex predator. It will likely know when humans, even well-trained researchers and survivalists, are in the area before we have any idea of their presence. This is why, as I said, a lot of time, effort, and perseverance is needed. Not to mention a lot of money. If such a group could be properly organized, then it is very likely a specimen will be taken. But it would likely take several months.

  24. Oh good two MORE people from the Steering Committee. That makes THREE stumbling blocks just on that last page. And one has to wonder why? Not true! there are PLENTY of people doing something about it. But nothing has worked. No one seems tired of Norseman's rants about shooting one. That's why something is obviously off here. It's time to at least try and include a different way. But all there is, and has been for about the last two years or so, is senseless resistance. Can't figure out why that is. I mean, it's only science that I've been trying to bring in. What's the big deal. What's wrong with doing that or even promoting that? It's not like saying, "Hey, let's all go find Dr. Matthew Johnson and open some portal." It's about including science and having scientists engage us. Just tell me truthfully that no one wants scientists in our court and I'll be gone.

  25. Correct. It's not the Steering Commitee (and I always use capitals when referring to it, that's called respect) that I'm impugning. It's the people that happen to be on it. It only coincidence that the ones that fight the hardest come from there. Normal members or not. It's always the same people, from Inc1's snide comments on down the line. Maybe I'll just refer to you folks as "The Group" because that's how you all seem to show up. It's like clockwork, I have even predicted when the "phenomenon" occurs. And when it does there's NEVER anything positive to add, there's only ever pushback. I would never know to say such a thing if I hadn't observes it to be so unbelievably consistent over the years. And don't worry, I've really had enough of you guys, too. None of you want science here? Fine. You want a stagnant Forum? Fine again. Have at it.

  26. Threads evolve all the time, but it doesn't matter anymore anyway, Rockape. This thread is dead. Intentionally torpedoed and blown right out of the water. Good job guys. You should be proud of yourselves. The BFF can now safely be moved back into the shadows under you fine tutelage.

  27. What a condescending crappy thing to say. I do. But not for hair or scat. You want a lab find one in your area, try the WSU. The hair/scat dance has all been done before and what was the outcome? ANY outcome. I pick my spots carefully and will not cry wolf to a lab. Now quit the snarky attitude. What is it with you guys, you're so danged angry. Isn't this thread dead enough for you? More condescension. Is that all you got? You keep harping in that but you didn't help me write anything. I don't know WHERE in you head that you think you did. A long time ago you talked about the right gun to use but that was in normal internet conversation and you were actually speaking to someone else at the time. I thought it was good information and when came to writing the book I put the information in it. YOU, SIR, did not help me write anything so lose that thought. You were NEVER a part of that process. Truth, norseman. The absolute truth, and now it's on record. I didn't say anything before but I sure as hell should have. Now you know, and so does everyone else.

  28. Ever think there could be a reason for that situation? It's called "no one makes the effort". There's a reason for that, too. No one is tiptoeing around anything. Why do you always take things to the extreme? As far as I know, you have been mentally pulling the trigger on this creature for the nearly nine years that I've know you. NAWAC? a dozen or more. And there's a lot more folks out there gunning for the thing on top of that. How's that working for everyone? Your "suggestion" to just grass one was noted on this thread pages ago. So we know okay? EVERYONE knows. Let it go, Go find a geneticist and a lab and educate yourself. I'm being harsh because you didn't have one good piece of considerate discussion with Wooley Booger. He's got 135 posts, you've got over 16,000 and are on the Steering Committe but somehow felt the need to slap him down? Haven't you learned anything? And from then on it went downhill fast. One pseudo compliment and what? That was good enough to unload? I do need to say this, though, leaving the "sciency" stuff to the scientists is essentially saying shut them out. It's a Dark Ages approach and it's difficult to believe that with the years that I have on you age-wise that I am more mentally flexible and open minded than you. So, there re scientists on our side and you're saying not to tap them? This 2021 not 1830. I mean it's one thing to not accept science for yourself but I see spreading your selective anti-science mentality around the Forum as unproductive and stifling to progress on the BF subject. EVERY tool we have should be used- INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO the bullet. You say you don't understand genetics, but it's valid. I don't understand rocket science either, but it's valid. I don't know how many grains to pack into a casing for whatever projectile but I know guns work. ALL the tools should to get deployed. This isn't a race, it's not competition, it using everything available. You're not for that?
