  2. I'm finally getting back to some hiking, but doing by myself now, miss my Lulu:) Had some good rain Friday & Saturday, and found these great prints....rare to find double prints, senior & junior, so close together, very cool, plus I found this weird skull nearby in a tree that wasn't there on Thursday. Guess that's a goat, never seen any of those running around out here.

  5. Best to discount anything from Robert Lindsay. He seems to be a self appointed misinformation machine for unknown reasons. Some say he was hired to spread lies, some say he does it on his own. Any way it is looked at the guy is off the rails.

  6. This is a nagging open question. What should have happened was BF just scrambles away into the nearest woods and that is it. What appears to happen instead is the BF tries to engage or reacts surprised. If that didn't happen I don't think the rest of the events happen. It was only after they had a chance to get a closer look that decisions got worse.

  7. I've always maintained that smartphones of today are part of the reasons why we have almost no chance of getting a clear photo. In the old days, if you saw something, you pulled out your 35mm, focused on your subject, then shot. Nowadays, the "smart" phones of today have no idea what to snap a picture of. Here is a photo I took last year of a deer that was on top of a mountain I had just climbed. I made sure to double tap on the deer to tell the phone that was the object to focus on. I took nearly a dozen photos and the deer's head was in the focus box every time. Each one of them was fuzzy. In my opinion, if you want a clear picture, bring a real camera in manual mode and ditch the smartphone.

  8. Haven't had another since it was initially brought up. But now that I live in Texas....maybe I should try a local tradition before importing some of WVs finest dog recipes?

  9. I thought I would post a few of my latest acquisitions. The balisong is a Kershaw Lucha. I love it! I have flipped these things for years. After my original hand made matching balisongs were stolen years ago, I have been wanting another one that is pretty high quality. On the bottom is a German Otter Mercator "Black cat" knife, in high carbon steel. It is super slim and awesome. A buddy of mine had one and when I used it, I knew I had to have one. The blade steel is fabulous! But no big deal if it ever gets lost as they are quite inexpensive. The Benchmade Autocrat is on the right. Configured for a lefty, of which I am guilty of being. I really love the shape and lines of it. The carbon fiber handles are sexy with the stainless bolsters. Yes, it is an automatic. Kind of spendy, but I just had to. The Opinel on the left was given to me by @Madison5716. It is made in France, and has a twist-lock collar and beechwood handles that Opinel is famous for. This one is for mushroom hunting, hence the brush on the back side. I am looking forward to harvesting some chanterelles later in the season! It's super light, too!
