  1. Who snores the loudest in the camper? Great photos, norse, but didn't Nathan get any of you? I went out solo today. My youngest boy was supposed to come along, but his girlfriend's cat took off just before our planned departure, so he had to deal with her panic and search for the critter, which they eventually found, hours later. In the meantime, I went out to a steep creek valley that I was pretty sure would be quiet, even on this long weekend, and I was right, I saw no one at all for the whole afternoon there. On one branch of the road system, I hit snow at about 1000m elevation (3300'), and on the next branch, at a lower level, was stopped by a big slide and washout. I could see that some quads had gone through, but it was a bit too tight for my H3. Some deer tracks and 1 bear scat was all I found for wildlife. On my way out, my phone pinged that I had a message, which turned out to be from Thomas and Magni, telling me that a mutual friend had just bought a new summer place near Harrison Mills, and we were invited to his first BBQ, so I called my wife to tell her I'd be late, and stopped in for the free food on the way home. Although the weather was much cooler and overcast than yesterday, it was still a great way to unwind for the day, and I got home late, tired, and happy that I'd made the trip.

  2. It's been an unusual year so far but not without drama.

  3. It's Spring and the Sotol snacks are ready to chow down on....they seem to really love scrapping the tender white meat off with their teeth, it is tasty and bit sweet tasting.

  5. I would definitely consider the chest pack at some point, but the nerves are slowly returning and everything is slightly uncomfortable right now.

  6. Had a great trip with Nathan! Pretty country! Rain today. Nice yesterday. Saw a couple cool suggestive track ways. Nothing solid. Nathan did some audio and thermal recordings last night. Saw lots of Mule deer. No Moose, no Elk. Saw a Griz hair pole Nathan knew about where biologists collect hair samples.

  7. Lucky guy! The best way to buy the Junglas now is through The Knife Connection's "Knife Builder". You choose the forged knife then separately choose the handle. For example, the Junglas I'd want (black linen micarta and with brown burlap) would be $93.92 + $63.50 = $157.42. That's a heck of a deal to begin with much less getting the exact handle you want.
