  1. They are not. Different species. But similar. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prairie_dog https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbian_ground_squirrel

  2. Thank you. I have added Ishi's left and right foot measurements as 39 and 40 know human data points.

  3. Ive seen Chipmunks in trees out here? I don’t think they live in trees. But they climb trees well. A ground squirrel is a dedicated borrower like a prairie dog. But doesn’t get as big in the body and don’t get as packed of a colony. And usually you don’t see their colonies deep in a forest. Usually it’s in fields and along roads. You would never ever see a ground squirrel in a tree. When I was working in North Dakota and Eastern Montana. You would drive for miles and miles and never see a prairie dog. And then come over a ridge and there would be thousands of them scurrying around in a 100 acre colony.

  4. But this is certainly a step in the right direction. I think it is likely that there is a cover up regarding this species existence high up at the federal level. Bigfoot are intelligent and elusive, but they are not THAT intelligent and elusive. If there was no government cover up I am convinced the species would have been scientifically classified decades ago. However, as the Mountain Monsters podcaster mentioned, the officials working for the state wildlife agencies are just regular people with a job. They are not involved in the cover up and many are open to the existence of these creatures with many of them having their own sightings. Since our nation was founded on the principle of federalism, it is entirely possible for the individual states to acknowledge the existence of Bigfoot. And there ain't a dang thing the feds can do about it.

  5. Thanks @norseman as well. I was wondering what in the world was wrong with you. One....didn't think ground squirrels (chipmunks back east) lived in colonies and two....I just can't see someone doing that!

  7. Did the Ohio Department of Natural Resources truly acknowledge the existence of Bigfoot? If true, then this is HUGE! The preponderance of the evidence has heavily weighed towards the existence of these animals, and the U.S. Army tacitly admitted their existence in their survival guide to Washington State. But an official admission of existence? This goes beyond evidence into the realm of proof.
