I just bought my wa hunting license and Idaho hunting license with two wolf tags…. And I got my new caller I just purchased with Cabelas points! Now I just need to find a dumb and hungry squatch! 😤 Or I will settle for some wolves or coyotes and bobcats.2 points

I am an archaeologist. So yes, yes I suppose I am a scientist. At least according to my two Masters Degrees.1 point

Setting the record straight with regard to my outdoors toys and activities. I hunt moose, caribou, and bears, not sasquatches, and that's my right to do so. I have no responsibility to solve any mysteries or establish any scientific discoveries. It's really that simple. Are you a "scientist"?1 point

Don't really know why you bothered to respond then. Some might even call it an agenda if they were down far enough inside the CT rabbit hole. Except to maybe just do your bit to water things down. You know, create a bit more apathy? Apathy is good though. It's perfect for things like boredom and going to sleep and stuff. Which apparently is working quite well because, just in case you haven't noticed (apathy will do that to you), the BFF does seem a bit sleepy........yawn.1 point

I'm not interested in discovery. That's for "scientists", not me. I'm an outdoorsman. I like my guns, knives, tents, Argo, snowmobile, camper, etc because I use them regularly for hunting, fishing, and exploring. Not me. I still haven't finished building a footprint casting kit, but I have toyed with the idea of doing so to cast prints from big bears, not sasquatches. Nuthin. I'm cheerfully "copping out" with the tired old mantra of wanting to see one for myself. I stumbled upon a track way 49 years ago, and have never seen hide nor hair of sign ever again despite a full life of working and playing in the wilderness. Do you think I'm going to waste effort and money trying to prove the existence of a ghost that "science" has repeatedly proven they don't care about? I'm simply not that stupid. That ain't happening with me, either. I'm the guy who is always armed. I'm sitting in my camper right now at fish camp on the beach at Kas Kasilof with a rifke within reach. If a sadquatch jumps out, I will not be shooting at it.1 point

We have taken the past month off, but otherwise we are out every week with our ‘knives, guns, and gear’. Maybe we are just dumb rednecks with delusions of being capable of ‘scientific discovery’, but we are among the very few in this region who do anything beyond going to a comfortable camp ground to pose for Facebook photos in our adventurer gear or walking along well trodden paths trying to catch images of Sasquatch on shaky back cams. As far as the DNA aspect goes… what happened with the eDNA project that was proposed here? Absolutely nothing, that’s what. And why would it? Almost every conversation here nowadays gets derailed by a handful of members who have to spew their bitterness about any subject. They either hate the parties involved or the topic doesn’t fit with some ill defined scientific standard. It’s a peculiarity of the Bigfoot world that people who seem to hate so much of it become so involved with the discussion of it. But, that’s ok. There are still some conversations going on behind the scenes here concerning possible plans for DNA samples and how they might be properly handled. Why on earth would those involved discuss it publicly here? Look at how this thread on the Smeja shooting has gone. The constant negativity and know-it-all’s have simply driven the conversation to private message. Who knows? Maybe that was their goal all along?1 point

Why monkey around? Drop some coins here: https://sasquatchpheromone.com/ I do not know if the above source is still in business.1 point

Im gonna appeal to the stomach primarily. But I may download a few Sas vocals. A little morbid but maybe even try a baby crying. Which actually a dying rabbit call is close.1 point

Then maybe it's time for everyone to stop tiptoeing around the pro-kill approach. We ALL know physical evidence (body/skeleton/DNA) is required. REQUIRED. Has anyone bothered to even ask what the "time-sensitive" evidence was that the Olympic Project collected back a year ago in February 2020? Doubt it. What is wrong with you folks? Looking through this entire Forum illustrates that only a tiny fraction of it concerns true research and discovery discussion. The rest is guns, knives and gear in order to give one a sense that they're really into actual scientific discovery. Is anyone set up to actually take a DNA sample from a footprint? I doubt that, too. Does anyone have a lab to take a possible sample to? Probably not. Just what are you folks doing about scientific discover except copping out with the tired old mantra of only wanting to see one for oneself? There is a level of reality here about this creature and it's future which, IMHO is nothing but talk. It takes a body or some other physical evidence. Period. That footprint? Yep, it's cool, now we can hang on the edge of our respective seats for the next one. More audio? Sure, why not. How about a little eyeshine? Yep, that's good, gets mentioned all the time. But real scientific discovery? Nope, not for decades, even though the path to discovery is well known by all, as well as those who came before us. Don't get me wrong, people do try, but only trying the same things over and over, and discussing gear instead of scientific methodology erodes one's credibility and calls into question true intent. Personally, I think things here could be tightened up a bit as far as focus goes....or simply just keep on skipping th serious discovery part altogether and honestly admit the atmosphere of how things truly are here. Or....to repeat....stop tiptoeing around the pro-kill philosophy, or a DNA collection program, and get serious. Neither of which is at the forefront of this Forum other than the nod, or some kind or honorable mention just to cover one's bases. Vinchyfoot said it best, there's no real community beyond its fragmented condition regarding what folks think passes for research. Just tossing my two rocks into the camp. Nothing personal here beyond general observation of how seriously or non-seriously this community embraces or has become desensitized to the importance and magnitude of the discovery issue. What I see is not encouraging.1 point

Just my opinion but I think having a good dog with you would be an early warning system . It doesn't mean you and your dog would survive a Sasquatch attack but if they do find my body I swear it will lying surrounded by empty cartridge cases1 point

The only way we are ever going to get the scientific establishment on board is to present them with irrefutable evidence…i.e. a body. That’s it. And it won’t matter who provides the body…someone who believes that they just bagged an undiscovered ape or someone who thinks that they just shot a Zeti Reticulan. You would think that the more exposure the subject of Bigfoot gets…that it would become a bit more reputable. But, instead it seems to become more ridiculous the more mainstream attention it gets. I guess that’s a byproduct of some of the more visible Bigfoot related media like Mountain Monsters. Scientists work for some sort of organization; which is either in pursuit of monetary gain or academic prestige. The pursuit of proving the existence of Bigfoot does not seem like it offers either to those organizations. Like everyone else, scientists are going to spend their working hours on what their bosses want. There are obviously a few tenured exceptions like Meldrum, but they are in the vast majority. Everyone seems to have this impression that if we just don’t act TOO crazy, the scientific community is all of a sudden going to have a change of heart and invite the more polite segments of the Bigfoot community to sit at the adults table. News flash. They think that we are ALL crazy…whether you are attempting to approach this from a (crypto)zoological standpoint or if you are running around looking for portals with Dr J. Hunsters right. We need someone who has the moral flexibility to pull the trigger on one of these things, but has the mental wherewithal to handle the aftermath in a responsible manner. The scientific community isn’t going to be of any help until that body is delivered. There’s no money or prestige in it until then. Once we get the body, then we will find out which of us were right and which of us were wrong.1 point

The scientists who get involved in BF research end up getting out quick when they are torched online or when their opinion is put in context of BF believer advocate. Either the BF community turns on them or like Meldrum you are put in position to constantly have to dodge criticism from the academic industry. There's a reason why Meldrum has his own journal. He can control what is said. He only selectively publishes his stuff outside of what he can control. The instant a credentialed individual (masters, PhD, whatever) gets a quote in print and is associated with BF, their career is in jeopardy, unless like Meldrum, you have the backing of at least 1 person in a position of academic authority to go to bat for you. Another example is Dr. Mayor. She means well and is qualified but she doesn't really have the respect of the BF community or her academic peers. People are polite to her and some folks do take expedition BF seriously because they don't know it is staged baloney. Show me 1 academic peer who cares a wink about Mayor's eDNA results, which should have at least kicked up some debate. Instead, nothing but crickets.1 point

Now i have heard wood knocks. But I have also heard some thing different that just did not sound like a wood knock. This Knock was not even initiated by me or us. The knock sounded like a cupped hand being beated on a chest. It was not that loud and it came from a distance. So for a person to re-create this type of a knock would be difficult to make this creature believe. These knocks took place through out the year and did not take place at certain times of the year. In my opinion I would say that the knocks were some form of communication. The last time I had heard these knocks was when I was in my hunting blind. I was being surrounded by three creatures and one would knock from one direction as another would knock from another direction and yet another would knock yet again from another direction. This all occurred after they had flushed me out of my ground blind by throwing sticks at the blind. This also when i had my last sighting of a small creature waving it's arms in my direction. I never stuck around and left that area as fast as i could. I have left whole raw salmon on there tree formations as a way to keep them in an area though. This has worked over and over. But some times have wondered if it has been a good idea to do so. If you work by your self you place your self in danger and never know if you will ever return back home. Off trail is sometimes not a good idea and I would not leave any notes on my vehicle. My wife never knew where I was until i came home. Only one researcher knew and he would only know after . There is this one researcher that I did learn from I think his name was Robert Morgan. Controversial but understood this creature very well. I took ideas from him and used them in the field. An open mind opens doors. Even though you may not get pictures of them you still can get and have a encounter with them. You just have to place your fear aside.1 point

I actually have quite a bit of Bigfoot/Sasquatch related figurines and such. Taken about a decade to amass this collection. Not everything is pictured. Have a while bunch of digital books. Have some physical books too (used to have more, but sold a lot, thinking of selling the rest). And there's a few other things that are sitting in a box in the laundry room because I don't have space for them right now. Part 1... Part 2. While I love it all, the last statue pictured is probably my prized piece...1 point

I've attached a file on a report done one West African Chimpanzee's and how different population pockets of them actually utilizing throwing rocks. This 'objects thrown' stuff is very interesting, as it would be a culturally learned behavior. The reports of it back that up too. Western WA - 1/14 reports describe 'objects thrown'. Eastern WA - 0 reports describe 'objects thrown' WA Olympics - 1/13 reports describe 'objects thrown' WA Cascades - 1/14 reports describe 'objects thrown' OR Cascades - 1/178 reports describe 'objects thrown' CA/OR Klamath Mountains - 1/106 reports describe 'objects thrown' CA Sierra's - 1/20 reports describe 'objects thrown' Elsewhere, there is a single 420sq miles county in Kentucky (Lawrence) that see's just as many 'objects thrown' reports as the entire Oregon Coastal Range Mountains, more 'objects thrown' reports than all of Idaho, more 'objects thrown' reports than all of Montana and more reports than all of the Oregon Cascades and Eastern Oregon combined. If this was the case then this would make Bigfoot ape. We be beating on our chest and have one on a slab with no problem. So i have to disagree with this. When they came to our camp back in 2000 and back in 2001 they came because they wanted too. Not because they were drawn in by methods being used that we have no understanding of there meanings. Even when we did use these methods there was no aggressive behavior. The only time that there was aggressive behavior by them was when they were being shot at. This only happened after we had left our camp site. This has been posted on the BFF back on the BFF 1.0 but in the movement from server to server has been lost. I and others who have been with me do know what we have encountered. They are not some monkey roaming around in the forest but some highly intelligent being. Now whether we want to call the males as alphas that is a different story. They are most certainly the king of the forest. If you say that they do not climb trees then you should restudy what you know. Camping in a hot zone is the best way to get involve with these creatures. It takes time for them to adjust to your presence before you might even get a sighting. But once they know you , they will start to answer when you call. But it takes times. But the real deal is you might not even get a chance to see one in your life time and if you do. You have been very lucky. The bad thing about researchers is that they do not want to post what they have tried. They do not want to post what has worked. There results just stay hidden from the rest of the world. But why? Could it be that they do not want these results to come out to be true of what others have been saying all along. It is like that we are still stuck in the same place year after year and never seem to move forward with the research. What gives? The fear of being ridiculed should be over by now. We should be able to speak our minds. Not saying that we do not. But we should be able to be more open with out being afraid. If there is research being used out there to getting results then it should be shared. So that it can be proven to work else where. This way we can confirm that these creature are not all different. That they all do react the same. If they do not then we know that they are not all the same. When we camped and had these creatures visiting us . We tried everything to capture a picture of them . We used every technique that we could think of to capture a picture of them visiting. Yet no avail. We used apples, and salmon with the camera traps. We used our campsite as bait wit no avail. We used the glow sticks and peanut butter jars back in 2000. Thermo's and we caught one running way back into the woods. Again back in 2000. All i can say is that they do love salmon and I mean the smoked stuff. But would not come around the camera traps for that. But I will stop. We need to be more open to how we deal with these critters with each other. We just cannot keep going on year after year with nothing no more. It has to change. Deep woods exploration is what is needed.1 point

For folks who like herpetology, ( @skinwalker13?) I have a similar story. Remember the little book series called Golden Nature Guides? I had one on Reptiles and Amphibians I’d asked my dad to buy when I was a little kid in Michigan. I still treasured it in the 1980s when living in Colorado and actually SEEING more of the herps in the book. I met one of authors, Hobart Smith, and had him sign it. He said the other author, Herbert Zim, was still living in Florida. I sent the book to Zim and waited and waited. Thought I’d never see it again. After at least 2 months it arrived in the mail with Herbert Zim’s signature!! So — give the young ones in your life a really good book on Bigfoot to plant the seeds.1 point

Getting lots of spring rain this year, which is good, but hard to find time to hike.....makes Bigtex a dull boy, lol. A few pics from recent hikes - very old stone wall that goes for miles through the woods, a cave pictured a few times before but this time something has been digging it out, some interesting marks showing what appears to be toe slides, and in one pic coming & going, a Deer skull put into branches on one of my trails, made friends with a toad, and a cool fossilized piece of bone:)1 point
