  1. Most of my field trips tend to be work related, but at least it takes me to some pretty cool and occasionally remote locations in northern BC. This is between Bob Quinn and Bell 2, BC, roughly 100 miles due east of Wrangell, AK. So many bears here, typically seeing 7-10 black bears a day and a handful of grizzlies over the shift. Closest reported sighting to here is this - from 2 years ago and about 100 miles south: https://www.bfro.net/GDB/show_report.asp?id=65630 Very few people in this country and most places on the map aren't even towns, just gas stations/camps or lodges.

  2. Took a bike ride today on my wife's family property! This ridge is alot steeper than I realized! There are some 100 ft drop offs.

  4. Congratulations BRB!!! The XQ38 is the bomb! The quality of your thermal imager is outstanding. It will open up your world as there no longer are limitations to doing work in the dark and night time is now your friend. On bigfoot TV shows, they seem to always use red hot or a color theme. In my opinion, it is more colorful for TV purposes but not for visual detail. I toggle between white hot and black hot and prefer the black hot for definition. Did you get a spare battery? They're not cheap...$80, or so, if memory serves me. I would highly recommend accessing "nightvisionforumuk.com" for information. It is the most informative about thermal imagers, especially Pulsar, on the internet. You have to register an account first before you can view posts. Bruce, aka "phoenix", on that forum is the Einstein of Pulsars. https://www.nightvisionforumuk.com/index.php?sid=82a9b9f1f0cb11c2ad00033fce81f600 Kindly keep the videos coming and best of luck with your XQ38 in the days and weeks to come!

  5. A small group of us went out Sunday We were looking for a camping spot for our upcoming 1 week outing. We also took a friend to the sight of our 2016 rock throwing incident. That friend Jason Z. Currently has a go fund me going for his upcoming 60 day expedition

  6. Nothing special. When camping in grizzly country, sleep with either a shorty shotgun or my 450 marlin. Also sleep with large sharp knife (if Mr. Grizzly is coming through the front door, I am making a back door) Normal camping I often carry bear spray and/or a 44mag mares leg with a full stock on it

  8. Lol. I almost tagged you and said that, unfortunately, this one is not going on a rifle. It was a compromise buy between myself and my SO, so we got the model with the smaller body. I will have a Pulsar thermal scope by fall, though. The quality of these things is amazing. Of course, I will need a new rifle then too...

  9. BASU eAlarm Plus. I chose it over many others out there because it has an attachment point on both ends of it. Most only have it on one end. The extra attachment point allows you to nail one end down and run fishing line around the vulnerable area and attach to the other end of the alarm. You can also run fishing line from the fixed end, around the vulnerable area and attach to the other end pull ring. https://www.basu.com/store/p2/ealarmplus.html#/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpmqWri1OlM

  10. Great photos, langfordbc, thanks for posting them. Your job reminds me of a well known Glen Campbell song, and I bet you've heard that comparison a thousand times! I've spent some time in NE BC, but not in the NW where you took these. Anywhere north of Prince George gets wild and lonely in a hurry, and goes on forever. I've followed sections of the cut line for the old 1880s telegraph line that was supposed to eventually reach Russia.
