  1. Brewed coffee with Irish creme for me in camp in the morning. Water in the afternoon. Then Fireball and water in the evening, unless I'm ice fishing. Then it's hot buttered rum......

  2. Allow me to give you one. I appreciate your tactful manner of disagreeing with some of my posts lately. I really appreciate it and will respond in kind. You have really brought some good points into the discussion.

  4. Now that's a knife! Congratulations. The last several knives I've purchased have been online (ESEE) but this is a good reminder how important it is to handle a knife first before puchasing. Assess its balance, the details of its fit and finish, and more. Select the pick of the litter.

  5. It caught a lot of flack when it came out, because it is bigger and broader than the classic W49. But, the tang is skeletonized…and the balance is actually superb. It is very lively in the hand and recovers well. It feels ‘alive’ in the hand. These are mostly handmade in India by Windlass Steelcraft, so the quality control is all over the place. It always has been. You might get a masterpiece…or you might get a lemon. I had the clerk bring out a couple to look at them, and got the second one I looked at. The first one was fine, but the guard was the slightest bit crooked. This one is great on fit and finish. I might sharpen the swedge so it can deliver a proper back cut.

  8. Thank you sir. It is all water under the bridge as far as I am concerned. In all honesty, we don't know exactly what Bigfoot are. And we will never know until a type specimen or DNA sample is collected.

  9. Eh. I was going to actually message you this, but I will just throw it out here in public. I’m man enough to admit when I am wrong. Going through some of our exchanges, I came at you pretty fast and definitely put you in a position to feel the need to defend yourself. My bad. I am not even a big proponent of a lot of the crazier stuff, but I do play devil’s advocate a lot because I think that there is an opportunity to quickly dismiss and possibly overlook legitimate activity because it comes wrapped up in a woo ribbon. The devil’s advocacy gets carried away sometimes. Anyway, you have been the bigger man and have been quite cordial. I appreciate it and will make an effort to do the same.

  10. The good news is there has been a resurgence of hiking, at least in my region. People need an outlet to exercise and enjoy so they've discovered hiking. Good for them. I think my lexicon is ok and I had to look it up. That's a good thing. The BFF has become a phrontistery. Kudos Kiwakwe!

  12. I would add China/Tibet, India, Nepal, and Bhutan. I suspect the official discussions took place between the U.S., Russia, and China in the 1955-1970 timeframe and the realization that non-"discovery" benefitted all (including the creatures). From there the other nations were brought in on the quiet agreement and saw the wisdom in it right away. I believe the United States government has known of these creatures for the better part of the 20th Century, and maybe even before 1900.

  14. I happen to have an interest in all matters related to Jack The Ripper. Exactly who was the most famous mass murderer of all times? There is a forum where exceedingly knowledgable people post questions, or information, and others, similarly endowed, provide answers or opinions---much like here. Were I to go on the Ripper website and, right from the start, make claims that I had thousands of pages of Ripper documents and photographs, I would be met with a healthy bit of skepticism. Those claims are received much differently from someone who has presented himself/herself and has become known to those similarly-minded people on the forum. For those who may remember, in the 1980s there was an EF Hutton TV commercial telling folks they did it the old fashion way. They earned your trust. So it is with many aspects of life. In my opinion, the bigger the claim, the more responsibility one bears especially when you haven't introduced yourself to your fellow readers. Who doesn't wish to be courted before being asked?
