It is 8 years after my vocal encounter- I just learned of a class A sighting a mile or two west of me on my road- it was featured in the movie finding jay, and it was a police officer responding to a dispatch of a hairy man carrying something. It was walking down the middle of our road with a dead dog, the officer came to about 50 feet behind it and turned on his Mars lights and his spot- it turned toward him and launched the dog at him- landing on the hood of his car- and it walked off into the woods- the officer was mocked by his fellow officers and kept it silent till recently. This gave me some good amount of closure on my vocal encounter knowing this was not mine alone to happen in this small locality.

My first encounters were right on the edge of town - Eugene, OR - with a population of 200K. Sure, we're surrounded by prime habitat forest on 3 sides, but WOW! So yeah, I have no doubt that sometimes, for whatever reasons, they can come shockingly close. Researcher Christopher Noel has written several short books on the same subject that you might find interesting. Good luck if you continue your research. Thanks for the great stories. Yeah, Phil. Phil is on a forum I spend a good bit of time on. Everybody seems to want to think Phil's miracle means it's a good idea for them. They don't have Phil's skill or his luck. When people bring this incident up, Phil gets real real quiet. His message to me by PM was what he did, putting himself and his clients in that situation, was a mistake that should have gone wrong and nobody in their right mind would repeat it. I intend to learn from Phil's mistake in planning, not double-down on his bet. .. just sayin'. MIB

When in Ely Minnesota, check out Steger Mukluks. Patti Steger has a 'garage sale' event in July for various footwear products. Pdub has suggested a visit to BWCA. Habitation goes back about 8,000 years. Ancient pictographs and petroglyphs can be found. Images of 'tricksters' have some similarities to the Dover Demon. Pdub had a strange encounter. Of the trickster kind?

If you have time get out into the BWCA. It’s a beautiful place and is the most wild place in the Midwest. If Sasquatch exist and exist in MN that’s the most likely place for them to be. It’s also where I had my only strange encounter.
