  1. Check with OkieFoot. Not sure if he is in the area, but I bet he might know some places you could go. If you are willing to drive a bit, try the Blowing Rock area or SW VA.

  3. Hello fellow Bigfoot hunters, seekers, enthusiasts, skeptics, believers, etc. I was born in 1967, a banner year in “Sasquatch history.” The year of the Patterson-Gimlin film. I was raised on The Legend of Boggy Creek, In Search Of, Mysterious Monsters, Sasquatch, etc. I came of age in the Sasquatch mania of the 70s. One of John Greene’s books could be found in my Middle School library. I kept it perpetually checked out. I make frequent trips to the Blue Ridge with my wife, and my eyes never stray from the woods around us, just hoping . . . I hope to learn a lot here and maybe make a friend or two or three.

  5. I have a nephew in western Virgina, another in Raleigh, a niece in Chattanooga, and a sister in northwest Georgia. The movement of population to the south has been extraordinary. Several buddies of mine, and their wives, either have recently or are now moving to Florida as their home state. It speaks profoundly both about atmospheric and population climate in those states. Warm climate and friendly people. Exciting for those who move there to experience what that region offers but terribly disappointing for those who've called it home for so many years.

  6. Yes, lots of people caught on backroads behind washouts and mud slides. I got through from Chilliwack yesterday just about an hour before they closed Hwy !. Both N and S Parallel roads were already flooded up to the bottom of road signs. It'll take days for Sumas Prairie to drain down enough to open the roads again.

  7. Treeman I have a friend who lives in Honobia (well not right in it) & you might be able to ask him about your tent idea. I can PM you his name....he's a really good guy, has written a couple of books on the big guys....rather not mention him except thru private message. Are you there already? Or headed there?

  8. With all the flooding and mud slides in my area, who knows when the local back country will be open again. Even our research area has been cut off by a mudslide. Just hope everyone is staying safe

  9. Just did a map survey on where you'll be once your back in the office. your at least a couple hours from anything I would consider going out in. Theres a few national reserves but thats about it. Like @BlackRockBigfoot said I would stay out of uwharrie except for hiking. Too many local food balls out there swinging axe handles and screaming into the night to catch anything decent.

  10. Yeah, even western North Carolina is overrun with people now. Not as bad as the eastern part of the state, but it’s getting there.

  11. Hello, everyone. I just joined; I found the forum through a google search on Bigfoot Mother and Child sightings--I was directed to the Kathy Moskowitz article: Mayak datat: An Archaeological Viewpoint of the Hairy Man Pictographs. Which is a great article, btw. Anyway, I have been researching paranormal subjects for over 40 years--primarily through books, but also through personal experience, and just living life. John Keel would have termed me an "experiencer," meaning that multiple weird things occur around and to me, with sightings, PK activity, weird noises, strange dreams, etc. I have only one experience I would term a "Bigfoot" experience and it wasn't a sighting, but instead a "hearing." Howls and trees being shaken and crashes and footsteps out in our woods about 18 years ago. It was pretty scary, about 60 feet from our house. Terrified our dogs. I'm hoping mostly to listen and learn--been reading about BF/Sasquatch/Yeti for years. I'm also an artist, chef, and love to hang out in the woods. Oh, and I'm a podcaster. 6 Degrees of John Keel.

  12. When putting full reliance on a device, such as the InReach Mini (which I have and carry), one has to be particularly careful to be sure it is fully charged and your plan has $ left on it. If one of those is overlooked it could spell trouble. That's one of the reasons I also carry an ACR PLB. Nothing to think about, or do, as no plan is involved nor does it have to be recharged. The only potential vulnerability is when you're nearing the end of the 5-year period.
