  1. Hello all, I live in Northern Utah. I work in Natural Resources research, 25+ years of aquatic macroinvertebrate taxonomy specifically. I have a degree in Environmental Science with a minor in fish and wildlife management. Some of my interests include hunting, fishing, wildlife observation, and motocross. I’ve been researching Sasquatch for two years now with a specific interest in bioacoustics. I am learning some ecological analysis modeling from my team member ‘BugMaster’, also on this site. Collectively we are known as MC2. I’m a technological caveman striving to come out of the Stone Age. I look forward to learning more about this phenomenon we call Sasquatch, and possibly contributing to this growing body of knowledge. -Matrix

  2. I'm sure it can be terribly disappointing if someone's principal objective is to prove to the world they exist. Undeniable, fully-verifiable proof. Me--I could give a hoot. What keeps me out in the woods day-after-day for weeks, months, and years on end is the desire for a sighting. I'll take a sighting that is a fleeting moment or a mere glimpse. No need to tell anyone, no need to prove to anyone, no need to document, although that would be fantastic. The satifisfaction I saw one of God's magnificent creatures is all I ask. There is no frustration whatsoever with failure. Fieldwork provides me the opportunity to be out in the woods, experiencing nature in all its glory and gloom, while putting myself in the position to see one. In many ways it's a mirror of life itself. If one can only find pleasure setting an objective and conquering it, sadly you'll miss the absolute joy of the journey.

  4. Hi, I live in Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island, aka Ape Island. Have always been fascinated by myths and monsters and growing up in the PNW, it was only natural to be consumed by all things Sasquatch so I'm looking forward to learning more.

  5. Yep, it's the old Loch Ness eel DNA dance. Just because we got bear DNA from the Himalayas snow tracks doesn't mean the Yeti doesn't exist.

  6. Hi Folks! Seems appropriate I post a hello in the new members area. Been over 2 years since my last post. Super cool to see a bunch of the old schoolers still posting!! Glad to see faces didn't melt off in my absence. ;-)

  7. It still brings up the point, though, that other than anecdotal evidence, with all of the supposed types reported globally for at least the last couple of centuries, that there isn't one specimen to be had, partial or otherwise, that science will accept as proof. Not one. IMHO, that borders on the absurd. We talk about our 12,000 or so plus reports in North America? What about globally? The Yeti, Orang Pendak, Yowie, Yeren, Meh-Teh, Sasquatch, Sedapa, and a myriad other creature types and locations. And all we are left with today, with science and all of its investigative powers, is for some citizen scientist/researcher/hunter to either shoot one or collect DNA? The sheer gross imbalance of all of this is truly incredible to even ponder.

  8. My problem with these shows (pretty much all of them) is that no matter how "active" an area is, there is never any proof or real encounter. It's all knocks and noises and shadows. And when there IS an opportunity (like when the creature is supposedly "right outside" the tent or the abandoned house (where they slept the first night), they do nothing but film their "terrified" faces. **** man - Run outside with flashlights or thermal cameras or shoot the thing through the tent. The film crew has a thermal drone. They used it like twice. Why not fly it constantly looking for or tracking the creature? They showed the thermal footage of it "walking towards the camp" and then.... nothing. This creature supposedly trashed their camp - no one saw it. It destroyed their tent. No proof. The episode where they set up a tree stand and are going to man it each night.... The one and only time they do this (so far), the guy in the tree stand "promised himself" to not turn on the light he had with him and the creature is supposedly right below him. Really? How convenient. He's got a gun, and a light. No radio? No way to call back to camp? No thermal camera? If you look at all the drone shots from the camera crew in the day (and look at google maps of the area), it's just not that much land, and it's a peninsula. If bigfoot is terrorizing their camp, it seems relatively simply to capture a photo or video or something tangible due to the location of their tent and restricted access to it on the peninsula. I get that if you are a normal person and you aren't looking for bigfoot and something happens, you aren't prepared or are too scared to do anything. This is not the case with all of these "expert outdoorsmen" "trappers" and "bear hunters". They are there for the simple reason of bigfoot. They have equipment and weapons to defend themselves. Yet it's all Blair Witch footage. Ugh.

  9. That is a good question. I think before I answer, I have to ask "which yeti are we talking about?" There seem to be many variations from Sykes mystery bear to some kind of primate. I do not think we should assume we know all there is to know. I do not think we should turn our backs on a potential question rather than truly investigating it. Something is truly wrong with Science when scientists must choose between doing science and facing ridicule. We are still there. MIB

  10. Hi, Found this site through researching Giant Black Panthers in my area I have never seen a Bigfoot type creature, but have seen other odd things, mostly Giant Black Cats with saber teeth. Just interested in other sightings of odd things in the Appalachia.
