I managed to get out again this afternoon, with more success than last week's attempt. This time I was able to actually reach my target locations, a small high mountain lake that I had never seen before, and a bay on Harrison Lake that was unreachable 2 weeks ago due to deep wet snow on the trail in to it. I didn't get away till noon, but the targets were within an hour's drive, and the weather was perfect. The trail to the small lake was a steep climb from the main Logging road, but not really challenging, with only a few shallow cross ditches and some small patches of snow in shaded areas. I found the right turns to make on Gaia, and reached the lake at 2 pm. I walked around some, looking for tracks, but found only some boot prints and dog tracks. The lake was still iced over, with a layer of snow on top of that, so I didn't venture out onto it, just took some photos and ate a snack, before taking a different route down the mountain towards Harrison Lake. This route was a ;little more challenging, with more snow patches, some washouts that made it very narrow in places, and a couple of dozen blowdowns, that someone had just recently cut through, leaving barely enough room to squeeze the H3 through. Once back on the main FSR, I continued N to the turnoff for the bay I was seeking. As I reached it, 3 trucks approached from the opposite direction, and turned down the trail, so I tagged on the end as no. 4 in the little convoy. In 15 minutes we were down on the lakeshore at a lovely little bay that was the site of a logging camp and booming spot to tow the logs out 40 or 50 years ago. No buildings are left, just an earthen pier and some rusty boiler parts. I chatted with the 4x4 group for a while, and then followed them back up to the main road, and then headed home. No evidence of Sasquatch was seen, but it was a beautiful day to be in the woods.3 points

I trust Bigfeet's completely, they have always let me fish, hunt, camp, and hike wherever I want. They have never interfered with any of my outdoor experiences. I've never smelled, heard, seen one, it's almost as if they don't exist, they are very accommodating IMHO.1 point

From our own @BFFbot ...."One of my friends, who I trust with my life, has told me they have seen a bi-ped creature northeast of North Bay swim and come out of a lake and walk out on two legs, although I have never seen Sabe" https://www.sootoday.com/columns/back-roads-bill/following-further-in-the-footsteps-of-sasquatch-50228991 point

I had a sighting when I was about 13 years old. I've also had several class B experiences as well, but ill just touch on the actual sighting here... This is part of an email I sent to Wes Germer before appearing on Sasquatch Chronicles several years ago.... “I have decided to share my experiences after many years of remaining silent on the topic of Sasquatch. It is important to tell you that I am believe in science, and I think that most things can be explained logically. I have a four year science degree, and grew up hunting and fishing. I have been hiking, camping, and backpacking in remote areas for over 20 years. One could say that the outdoors are my bliss, and I am quite at home in nature. I have had things happen in my life that I cannot explain using science and logic. I have told very few people about these experiences. The odd thing is most of these experiences have occurred in an area of the United States where Bigfoot is not well known to be in residence. All of these experiences occurred within the Southern Tier of New York south of Buffalo. My Family’s Property When I was just a kid, I spent a lot of time at a cabin my Grandfather owned. He had purchased the land (5 acres) from a friend who had 300 acres. The property could only be accessed by driving up a common driveway off a seasonal road. The property was on a hilltop above a small town, and bordered another 600 acre plot of land left to a local church when a local resident passed away. The church property was an old, abandoned farm. It was only used once a year for a picnic area, and otherwise had been abandoned to local wildlife. My grandfather’s property, and surrounding area, was comprised of dense forest and several large fields. We would often take long hikes after dinner, and I always loved to see wild game in these natural settings. We would often spot a half dozen deer or turkey in the fields near the cabin. My grandfather would always carry a rifle or shotgun with him, and had offered an explanation that he sometimes saw wild dogs. In 17 years, I never saw one dog or dog track on that property… but I am getting a bit ahead of myself. My sighting, as best I can figure, happened about 1986. One evening after eating dinner, we decided to walk over to the church property and check the fields to see what wildlife we could spot. The wind was blowing in our favor, and my grandfather explained that animals would not catch our scent. He was always teaching me, and telling me stories about his past outdoor adventures. He was a very accomplished hunter and outdoorsman… he taught me a lot growing up. I remember the wind blowing in our faces as we crossed the property line and headed up past an old abandoned house toward the barn that stood at the top of a small hill. We followed the dirt road around the buildings past a small pond toward a large field behind the barn. You couldn’t see past the barn until you crested the hill, and I was eager to spot a few whitetail deer or a few tom turkey. I was not prepared for what I would see, nor will I ever forget it even after 30 years. We reached the top of the small hill beyond the barn, and I scanned the field. The meadow was perhaps 200 yards wide, and 400 yards deep. My eyes were immediately drawn to the far side of the field. Something dark stood in the field, maybe 20 feet out of the tree line. It was big, standing on two feet, and covered in hair. My mind raced as I tried to identify what I was looking at, but I drew a complete blank. I could see the hair waving on the arms and head as the breeze caught it. It was far too big to be a man, and I never questioned if it could be one for a second. My mind told me it wasn’t anything I had ever seen before. My arm raised toward the creature, pointing toward it. “What is that?” I asked my grandfather. He was already looking in that direction, and replied “I don’t know”. This thing had not seen us, it was facing toward the far end of the field. Over the years, I have come to the conclusion that it was searching the field for something, perhaps a deer or some small animal. After 10-15 seconds, I saw the torso and head shift in our direction. The shoulders squared up to face us and that’s when I realized it has seen us. After a few seconds it turned, took three or four steps, and disappeared into the woods on the opposite side of the field. It did not seem to be in a particular hurry at all. The second it got into the trees you couldn’t see it anymore. Maybe it was because I was a kid, or because it was so far away, but I was not scared at the time. It never made a sound. It was there, and then in a few seconds it was gone. I have never seen anything like it before or since that day. Normally, our hikes were quite long, and were composed of long circuits around the area. That evening, my grandfather decided it was time to head back the second it disappeared, and we retraced our exact steps back the way we came all the way to the cabin. I believe my grandfather knew much more than he ever told be about that property, and Sasquatch in general. The last comment I will make about this event is that I never thought it was a Bigfoot until recently, because it did not resemble the creature in the Patterson Gimlin film. It was tall, maybe seven or eight feet but not massive like that. It was much lankier, although the frame was big with shoulders wider than a man.1 point

I get the general way of thinking and don't overly disagree, but i just don't think you can be bringing in religion to this subject as it obviously brings up geographical issues and a whole world of questioning that simply can't be answered objectively.1 point

Nice folding rule. I have a similar unit. The 6 inch sliding extension is a good option. I have plastic folding rules with the metric system. Viewers may not know that the rule segments will lock at 90 degrees so one can see width and length at the same time. Numbers show up well in photos due to the contrast.1 point

What’s the problem exactly? You are upset that someone who has a casual interest in the subject is going to a Bigfoot conference and is wearing a ‘Gone Squatching’ t-shirt? How exactly is that affecting you or your efforts? A broader knowledge and acceptance of the topic is bad how exactly? Or are you one of those people who feel like you ‘own’ the topic? You act like Jeff Meldrum said that he was going to stop being involved in research and is instead going to sit at home all day watching Finding Bigfoot reruns, or plans to follow Moneymaker around from appearance to appearance like the Grateful Dead. Like a ‘World’s Hide And Seek Champion’ coffee mug is some sort of crippling blow that will destroy all attempts at serious research. Sorry, but Inc’s description of you is pretty dead on. It’s odd that you can’t see how negative you are…without adding anything of substance to any of the discussions here beyond a constant level of complaining. ‘Community narrative’. What is that narrative exactly? You act like every well known person in the field is part of some sort of Bigfoot guild where they have to tout the party message. It seems like a lot of them just argue their opposing views most of the time. If I recall correctly, you have spoken about being zapped and having equipment mysteriously ruined before. There are researchers out there who would lump you in with the woo elements because of those claims and want you eliminated from the ‘community’. But, that’s different, right? Honestly, you just sound like someone complaining to complain…and, you kind of come across as bitter and jealous towards Moneymaker. He’s someone who I probably wouldn’t want to spend any personal time with…and he himself gets too caught up in the ‘I’m the expert’ mindset himself…but, unless I am hearing someone complain about him here, he really has no effect on me. Maybe you can help us understand your frustration. You seem to struggle with articulating exactly how these things that seem to occupy so much of your time and attention are negative to the rest of us and the subject in general. Perhaps address the questions that I posted above? I know that you received a better response to the same post on Reddit. That in of itself should tell you something…when the perpetually aggrieved on the armpit of the internet agree with you…well, that’s telling. Finally…you offered some sort of localized, community Bigfoot gathering to combat this problem with famous people that you seem to think exists. I assume that, if that local gathering becomes popular that it too would need to be canceled before the participants gained any sort of notoriety? Who is going to determine what level of recognition is acceptable?1 point

And that illustrates one of my points precisely… No one is ever going to accuse you of being overly interested in the woo, and yet you are interested in hearing what Morehead might have to say about his experiences. One of the other speakers at that same conference made more than one comment that insinuated people like Morehead or Paulides shouldn’t be given a platform to share their information because it runs counter to ‘accepted science’ and does harm to the subject. The accepted science is all that should be discussed, unless we are departing from accepted science in a way that people like him find reasonable…like explaining how a warm blooded creature can see in the infrared spectrum or how land mammals can have bioluminescent eyes. Infrasound as some sort of Sasquatch ‘deus ex machine’. That science we can get a bit flexible with, but Morehead’s attempts to explain some of the stranger aspects of the phenomenon using quantum mechanics is heresy and should be silenced. I don’t agree with everything that Morehead says, but I would like to be able to hear his thoughts so that I can formulate my own opinion on them as opposed to having someone else decide that for me. Arbitrary lines drawn by personal bias… it’s a slippery slope. I would rather have to wade through a bit of what I personally consider nonsense than have someone else filter what I should be allowed to hear.1 point

You want to know why it was closed . It was closed because the folks who rule the debate want it close to the fact that they do not want this creature to have any part of it to be Human. To have it be Human does not fit into their well fitted agenda of what ever it may be. They wanted it to be an ape/ chimp since they do not want some thing that can match up to what we as Humans are. Sure we as Human do not live in the wild since us Humans build shelters . We as Humans are not savages where we eat our prey with our hands and teeth and rip the flesh off the bone. Us Humans do not give off the fear of God to other apex animals like these creatures do what ever roams in our forest. ( I am sure that Zana never had this ) . Where you can actually feel that fear in your bones as a Human.( Where is the paranormal in that) This is pure apex in a species not felt anywhere else . It is only felt when we encounter these creatures. So what ever DnA they have it must be some thing that is truly undiscovered. True there must be some human in them but what ever other part that is in their strand is what should leave us with at a remarkable amazement. That is even if there are two strands of DnA which we are not even sure off. There could be more then two strands of DnA which would make them remarkable.-1 points
