  2. I've finally got wheels and a lift and leveling kit together. They go on tomorrow at dawn. Fuel wheels, and BF Goodrich KO2's in the 35" size. I just got done loading them all up. By myself. No power equipment. Just physics. I was going to ask @Madison5716, but she has this little hindrance called a busted arm. Sheesh. But now, I think I'm going to take a little rest. And, I got ducked for the first time in a parking lot while I was picking up a few groceries. Kinda cool!

  4. Check out the Tazer Mini from Z-Automotive. You can make all needed changes yourself and it's not more than going into the dealer for a one time flash: The Mopar 2" is a super simple kit to install, shouldn't take them more than a day and that's if they've never installed a lift kit before. Down on shop help is understandable, but that kit isn't extensive to install.

  6. They do the duck thing here in Canada, too. I occasionally get the wave from a Jeep driver, then they look at me funny when they realize that the 7 slot grille is on a Hummer, not a Jeep. I'm about as interested as you are in team sports. In a hockey crazy country, I've never watched a game, even though my younger brother played in a beer league.

  7. I used to see him on various outdoors related forums years before I joined here… For those of you who knew him…my condolences for your loss.

  8. I'm glad you did your homework, Northwind. Many don't, and find it comes back to bite them. I just wanted to make sure you didn't make an expensive mistake.

  9. Either works for me on a personal level, however, I'm more of a sasquatch man myself. It's kind of like calling a skunk a skunk or calling a skunk a stinker.

  10. Dealing only with the subject kind of lingering in camera view, more than one size track was observed... so if the creature is genuine then it had backup so to speak. It could be drawing his attention from the other specimen for any number of reasons. It could be moving away or even flanking him. Many people think there was a baby or young creature involved her as well, so it could be drawing attention away from the young as well. That would certainly be a common reaction to a possible threat to offspring in the animal kingdom.

  11. Honestly real or not, I find it to be some of the most intriguing footage I've seen after the PGF. I'm aware of the controversy surrounding Freeman and his research, but the film itself is quite interesting. I especially find the point when the subject stops moving to be very intriguing, as the figure almost disappears (and blends into the environment to the point of being almost invisible) until it starts walking again. The sequence reminds me of so many witnesses describing how the creatures seem to disappear before their eyes. Perhaps, if this is genuine, the subjects natural camouflage is just that good...

  12. I'm confident that it's real, but the video footage is poor.

  13. welcome to the forum, glad your looking around out there. so this is purely my opinion. i do teach tracking classes though so there's experience behind my opinion here. first, it looks like an old boot or tire print thats been smoothed by time and weather, the edges are really hard edges, there's no roundness that i can see second, anything that would have stepped in that water would have also pushed that leaf into the substrate, it does have some dirt on it but its dried out. the substrate also has a lift in the shape of a V just by the leaf that wouldnt be left behind by something walking through that day. those are my quick take aways on the image. keep your eyes peeled, never know what you'll find out there.

  14. I believe anything that makes you wonder and engage in analytical thought is a positive thing. If these creatures have existed for this long and not provided "indisputable proof," then hats off to them and their kind. I do not think a North American Primate of some sort is impossible. Greater credence has been awarded to less deserving pursuits. They certainly have a thing or two to teach us about living in this world, again a positive thing. They are wilderness creatures and should be approached and respected as such. There is always a certain amount of danger involved with wild animals. More so with this creature because we have much to learn about it. As we do, we will also learn about how much most of us have lost our ways of communicating with the natural world. What used to be instinctual has been suppressed by this modern world and its "advantages." More positive. The more violent an experience the more attention the media gives it. Evidently it is what many people want to hear because it sells. I don't like to dwell too long and hard on what kind of an experience I might have with these creatures. It will make me crazy!
