  1. Boys and Girls, here's first dibs on the soon to be released 'lite' version of the Nest Area analysis that i finished for 2021. This report prior to today, has only been viewed internally by Olympic Project members and a very selective few others. As mentioned, it's the 'lite' version that i just wanted to release due to time restrictions and going forward, i need to analyze both weather conditions and moon phase correlations among other things, when time is a little easier to come by for me. Anyway, it's important to me that BFF members get a first look at it and i hope this thread can ignite productive conversation among us. It's important to note that all Bird and Mammal recordings analyzed were clarified by multiple people using the MaCaulay Library of Sound. As and when i make edits due to people pointing out grammatical errors etc, i'll update the report and post the most recent edit here as we go along. The recording project is continuing and recording as i write and i can tell you that 2022 and the first Winter that has been recorded so far, has been extremely productive and Winter was the season that was most interesting to us due to the timing of both the original Nests found (February) and the 2020 new 'under construction' Nest find (February). If anybody has any questions at all on anything, please add to the thread and i'll try my best to answer them, checking in to the thread on a minimum of every Monday and Tuesday at least. I'd be really interested on peoples thoughts and/or experiences of the possible Coyote Warning/Locator call correlations that were found. Sharing is caring, enjoy ! Edit : If anyone wants this on PDF, just message me your email address and i'll send it across soonest.

  2. That brings back memories of clearing trails every Spring with Thomas Steenburg and Bill Miller, on the route used for Bill's "Sasquatch Country Adventure Tours". Chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and brush hooks to clear a section Thomas dubbed "face slap alley" About 4 km from a beautiful waterfall to a great lookout over Harrison Lake.

  5. Hey everyone, My name is Morgan. I live in San Diego county and have researching Bigfoot and other cryptids for a few years. On 5/5/2022 at 8:35pm,my wife and I heard unidentified howls and vocalizations in Idyllwild Ca. I was able to record the last 35 seconds for the event and sent the audio file to 2 different Bigfoot research groups . One got back to me saying the recordings does not sound like a known animal and left it as unidentified but called it interesting. The other said its difficult to make a identification, but could be a squatch. I have been obsessed with listening to the audio and want to get more involved with the community and make friends with this interest and not just reading about this mystery. Thanks, Morgan.

  6. Hello all I am from Minnesota. I had some class B experiences in WV while doing an internship with WV wildlife biology department in 2002, that lead me to 12 years of research mostly in MN but other states as well while doing some large group expeditions trying to find some answers…now I’m even more confused LOL! I’ve had some crazy things happen while out in the field, but I have never laid eyes on one (does eye shine count?) found some strange prints in the mud, have heard a wood knock very close, have had wood knock replies, smelled them (I think) and have had some really bizarre things happen. I haven’t made much of an attempt to join any forums or post anything I’ve found, kind of stayed away from the internet as in the past it was pretty hostile, but I thought I would give it a try and hope to meet some cool people and hopefully learn some new things. When in the field I focus mainly on capturing audio and trying to stay out for multiple days at a time. I enjoy reviewing the audio and trying to clean it up. I really enjoy the camping that comes along with the hobby as well as backpacking. I’ve done remote ATV camping trips, boat in to remote location trips, and backpack into areas for research, really enjoy that aspect of the challenge. Thanks again for having me and look forward to chatting with you all. Feel free to PM me and ask any questions or if you would like to hear about any of my experiences.

  7. Very good point! I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately about how so many researchers and scientists, and archaeologists want to be able to be “the one” to discover a new species, and now in present day, a lot of what was classified as “new species,” needs to be reconsidered, and likely falls into place of a species that has been discovered. The term “species” i think is often used and taken out of context. I will use an example in my response to this thread’s original question. I have been waiting to post my own thought of what it could be!

  8. Considering how there is constantly new evidence about primitive and modern hominids not only co-existing, which even 50 years ago was something many people didn’t believe could be true, it’s now proven inter-breeding happened, and I think science has just discovered the very tip of the iceberg with that. Why would it be any different with this hominid species? Definitely something to think about!

  9. This is pretty Incredible. Great work . Curious if the data showed any percussive patterns repeated ? I recall Chris Noel doing some recordings in vermont which seemed to show some knocks and clicks which were recorded multiple times in a pattern. thanks for your work, look forward to seeing more of this .

  10. I've a heart arrhythmia problem, so my outdoor jaunts have been curtailed. But friends are recommending the trick of wrapping duct tape around your ankles, sticky side out. And of course tuck your pants cuffs into your socks, and tuck in your shirt. Try to keep the demons on the outer surface of your clothing.

  11. I actually talked with Adrian Ericsson after his Quest came out. He's a nice guy, says he saw Bigfoot 6 times, also vouched for Todd Standing

  13. Olympic Project Nest Area, myself Mr Norseman and Mr Hunster, two weeks, with someone dropping us in sausages and steaks to BBQ each night and we'd get the job done, no doubt in my mind. Oh ok, i'll add Corson, Hale and Spencer in there too for the crack !

  14. People have a tendency to try and explain away things that are unknown or unexplainable at a certain time to fit whatever paradigm that they have, whether it's cultural or personal, so I tend to view the "Woo" stuff for what it is and just don't engage in it because it's pretty clear to me that it's a normal flesh and blood creature. What that creature is, who knows but it's definitely a primate. I tend to go along with the human ancestor hypothesis, whether it's a lost lineage of Australopithecine or direct human ancestor. We still know so little about our past and only have modern apes as a reference, which is inherently skewed.
