  2. Howdy. I am from the SF bay area and like to get out into the more remote areas of the state. I have been interested in the topic of Sasquatch since I was a young kid and to say I am looking forward to talking to others about the topic inside a dedicated forum, is a massive understatement! I have had a couple of questionable experiences myself and hope to have more this summer (experienced what I think to be a few rock throws a few summers back in willow creek area, as well as an awful smell appearing in happy camp while alone on a stagnant evening). I look forward to meaningful conversations on the topic, as well as advice, and stories from others.

  3. Coincidentally, or not, Mononga Hela (as he goes by) is working on developing a Sasquatch language system. He's a military cryptolinguist. He looks for phonemes among chattering and sounds to assess patterns across the country. Pretty interesting stuff. He classifies Sasquatch vocals as speech, but this notion is not fully accepted by the Squatching community, obviously.

  5. I have always been in the camp of hominoid. It just made the most since to me as a child and now. Bipedalism has only been seen in humans and early human ancestors, so anything else would be a bit hard to justify. Sure, chimps, gorillas, and Orangs can walk on 2 legs for a short time (mostly when their hands are full of fruit), but their hips (and leg bones) are not made to support bipedalism for very long. If Sasquatch were some other kind of primate (non-hominoid), we would need some form of evidence of bipedalism in the fossil record (which we don't, to my knowledge). I don't immediately discount the "woo", but I don't have enough evidence to discount or support it. Classifying Sasquatch as a living hominoid would not be a big stretch of the imagination, as Dr. Meldrum recently posted an article which discussed the possibility of "The Hobbit" still being alive today. Also, if we compare the reports/sightings with living primates, there is a lot of overlap in behavior- the odds of a supernatural being having the same behavior as a primate are very slim, essentially 0, in my opinion.

  6. Hello, I'm from New York & have been interested in the Sasquatch phenomenon for most of my life. A few years ago I began doing research into the UFO phenomenon after hearing about the US Navy fighter pilot experiences with the TicTac UFO craft and after going down the rabbit hole with UFOs, I realized they were 100% real and there had been a concerted effort to mislead the public. Roughly 6 months ago I began thinking about various other things which had been dismissed as fringe BS mythology (like Sasquatch) and I started to dive into this world, ultimately finding content like Les Stroud's Bigfoot series, Christopher Noel's books & countless podcasts. And after hundreds of hours of research, watching & rewatching videos of purported Sasquatch, reading countless testimonials, etc. I'm firmly convinced Sasquatch exist & they're more akin to humans than apes. (Although I know that's something alot of people will disagree with.) To be clear, I'm an admitted neophyte in this area and I hope to learn more about this entire topic on these forums from all of you good people. I look forward to meeting some of you soon and appreciate all the work the admins do to keep this forum alive & well. Best regards, Jay

  8. Sorry Guy, But Please watch your language in your sentences. We all do it without thinking about it at times. Bigfoot is a big subject for everyone, even for the little ones who might pop in here from time to time.

  9. I don't think you can compare what reptiles can do with mammals.

  10. After nearly 60 years of interest and reading about the subject, I am now of the belief that these creatures are a hominid; a species of primitive man. I also believe that hybridization with homo sapiens occurs.

  11. I think some of you are getting hung up on the term "species" thinking that fertile offspring are not possible. In reptiles, cross -species hybrids are quite often fertile. So you might say "well, reptiles yeah, sure, they're lower vertebrates" but that doesn't matter if the definition of species, something that goes well beyond vertebrate biology, says they can't be fertile. But even more damming for that definition is the Fact that there are hybrids that cross Genus!! And they're fertile! For example the royal python(Python regius) of Africa has been crossed with an Australian python species, the Woma(Aspidites ramsayi) producing fertile offspring! Just something to consider within this heated and controversial debate.....
