  1. Sort of, maybe. I do not follow MK Davis. He burned a small amount of time researching the 'hairy back shot'. He found slime. There is a way to analyze synthetic 'hair / fur'. The parent material is extruded in a 'natural' color for the respective plastic. It is not brown, grey, silver. Colored dyes have to be added. The color of the end product may require several applications / combination solutions of dyes. I have read about analyzing the reflected light coming off the target to determine underlying dye colors. I spend very little time checking images on the internet and I have not scanned hair / fur. 14 years later and still 'an unknown'. Let go of it. I used to know a marine surveyor who had a special acronym for items on his vessel surveys: "N.T.D.K." 'Neat Thing, Don't Know'. Neat Thing, Don't Know. We should use that term.

  2. I got my long duration recorder out yesterday. Recording 6 hours a night, it will go for 36 days. Hopefully. We’ll see. This area is rarely visited other than hunting season. Most of the trails are overgrown and full of deadfalls. I’m worried about chipmunks chewing the box and mics.

  3. We did find some oddities. And got a tree break or knock on audio. The granite rock wasn’t on top of the mushroom a few months ago. It’s about 10’ off the ground. The tree is probably nothing, just cool.

  4. I got to thinking about if a mic would fit into a cable gland. I first tried a #9, it fit perfectly. But I couldn’t recess the mic into the gland. A #11 worked great! With a bit of patience, I was able to slightly angle the mics. The box is waterproof, and the mics should stay out of the rain. The angle of the box put the mics pointed downward slightly also.

  5. Spending effort on meaningless (and likely hoaxed) pics and videos. It's like handing money out of your car window to panhandlers; you think you're doing good, but what you're really doing is rewarding bad behavior and motivating more people to bad behavior.

  9. Awesome. I'll get your number and give you a call one of these days. I spoke to Mr. Hunster last year as Alaska is my first choice (I love the north) but I don't have any opportunities up there.

  10. I strongly suspect government has studied them, both a necropsy and field study, and now simply disciurage discovery........yes, to the point of occasional active cover up. For an example of their passive discovery discouragement, I point to The Malibu Artist and his YouTube channel on white sharks along the southern California shoreline. I grew up in the LA area, and I was an surfer during high school. We knew white sharks ranged there, but we had no clue whatsoever that pretty much every time we went out on the water, we had them swimming around under us, following us, checking us out, etc. But the authorities knew. Police, military, and news channel helicopters travel up and down the beaches daily, and have been doing so for more than half a century. If drones can see these sharks like this, so could the helicopter occupants. Since "Jaws", authorities have poo-pooed shark fears while simultaneously banning white shark fishing and engaging in propaganda campaigns discounting the exaggerated fears of sharks, even when reporting the shark attacks, which occur regularly, including fatal attacks. "Once the shark bit him (nearly in half), it left, realizing that the kayak fisherman wasn't his usual prey". I'm sure the fisherman would have been relieved that he wasn't actually eaten........had he survived......... To summarize, if you've gone in the water on the southern California coast (especially Huntington Flats), you've been swimming with great white sharks near and around you, and government has known this for decades and didn't want to publish the details because they didn't want to scare you. Would government do this with a giant primitive human species in our forests? I say: you'd better believe they would...........

  11. It does sound like it hasn't been proven a hoax yet, so there's still some meat left on that bone...

  12. How much property you got there? Been looking at property in northern Idaho alot lately and property nearby in Newport looks very affordable. Sold my rental house on Vancouver Island last week and if the house I'm in was in selling shape (mid renos, at the moment), I think I'd have my Visa already and be moving the family south.

  13. Ultimately? It doesn’t matter. It’s a photo or two. Photos don’t prove anything. Evidently not even Chimps that while strange? We have DNA of in eastern forests…. Why would there be DNA of Chimps in eastern forests? Long ways from the Congo. Obviously someone turned some loose? A lab? A zoo? A pet escaped? Who knows…. Either way this simply further proves beyond a shadow of a doubt in my mind? It’s going to take a body of a Bigfoot. If people will not accept a photo of a Chimp with corresponding DNA of Chimps present in the wilds in the (200 miles) regional vicinity? They will never accept DNA, and photos of a undiscovered bipedal primate in North America. Won’t happen!

  15. At the end of the day, it is still a mystery. ABS has the copyright on the image, not the original person. The one submitted image is cropped. Usual backstory in the way of no proceeding or following images. Image release was 2012 with the image being taken 4 years earlier. A 'white flash camera', aka 'flash and dash' is good for color of hair, fur, skin, stripe / spot patterns at night. Still used by fin & feather departments to identify individual animals via color, stripes, spots and weird coats. IR flash images don't have the same capabilities for details. Opinions go back and forth. Still a mystery.

  19. We can leave religion and aliens out of it! IF you go into the woods unprepared and without respect and reverence to mother natures power? IF you do not realize from the moment you step out of your car door that you are nothing more than a meatsicle? IF you place your own morality onto wild animals competing for the right to exist on this planet? Your a dead person! Maybe it will take a week, a month, a year or a decade. But your bad habits will eventually catch up to you. Dead man walking… Also! Bigfoot is not a Homo Sapien. The term Cannibalism only applies to Sapien on Sapien consumption. A Bigfoot eating you is no different than a Grizzly eating you. Again. Do not place your morality onto something fighting for survival. You will lose. Buy a gun. Buy bear spray. Buy a knife. By a GPS tracker. Become competent with them. Save your own life! Don't become Timothy Treadwell!
