  1. So, this may seem counter to the question asked but I actually do the vast majority of our investigations during the day. I do this based off sighting report data, the vast majority of reports are in daylight and dusk. I do stay out late though from time to time, but rarely past 3am. Ive pulled plenty of all nighters but the majority of data we've recovered has all been between the hours of 5pm- 2am in the fall then 8pm-12am and 5am-7am through the summers. Just our personal observations here in Appalachia.

  3. Hello Bigfooters. This is GenesRUs checking in. Some of you may remember me, as I was a member of the previous version of The Bigfoot Forum using the same screen name. I was not a frequent poster at the time, but I did contribute several lengthy posts to the entire "Ketchum Affair". I am a biochemist/molecular biologist by training and I thought my expertise might be useful in understanding and debating Dr. Ketchum's claims and publication. I got involved in Bigfoot after reading John Napier's book in 7th grade, and have been interested in the topic ever since. I was the first BFRO contact in Colorado, but was swiftly retired as I was busy with career and kids, and never had sufficient time to follow up on sightings. Currently, my family spends summer weekends camping, fishing, climbing, etc in Colorado. I've had 2 unusual events, one in northern New Mexico and one in northern Colorado, but no actual sightings. I look forward to perusing the entire website, and hope I can make some useful and meaningful contributions.

  4. I thought cougar too. But had to look harder and seen that it was a bear. @norsemanNever knew that bears go through hair phases. Well at least with Black bears. The Bigfoots might be doing the same thing as well. Michigan you have to go through a lottery to get a tag. It takes times to get your tag since it is on a point system. Never tasted bear but I have heard that it tastes very well. Nice little spot to hang a tree stand. Not sure if you bow hunt. Does seem like a good area for some excitement though. I have stopped using bait. Started looking for rubs and scrapes and setting up in between their travel routes.

  6. Heck of a shot. Nice job by your brother. I like to read about U.S. historical events particularly the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. Very interesting and challenging times. Your brother's shot was from 200 yards with a modern rifle and scope. The turning point in the Revolutionary War came from a rifle shot by Timothy Murphy at Saratoga, NY. He climbed up a tree and killed British General Simon Fraser from 300 yards using a rifle with iron sights. British General Burgoyne subsequently surrendered and, with that, the French entered the war paving the way for victory over the British. At a gun club I belong to, it is very difficult to even see a 12" target at 200 yards much less hit it. I can't imagine trying to shoot something at 300 yards, with iron sights, and with the pressure of everything on the line!
