I built the second recorder today. I found battery eliminators online that comes with a usb plug. You can get them in single battery up to four batteries. All I had to do was drill a hole to run the wire through. Since I’m running alkaline batteries, all I had to do was snip off the usb. I learn a little more each time I build one. This one is going to be lag bolted to a tree.
since 2 D cell batteries ran the recorder for 31 days set at mp3 320kbps for 6 hours a day, I’m setting this one that way as well. I could drop down some on the recording rate and get more time, or increase it to get better quality. I’m happy with 30-35 days. The recorder only accepts up to 32g sd cards.
If you want to build one, or want me to build one for you, let me know.
Thank you. I did not think much of it until a few days later when I get hit by a couple sneezing fits. Wasn't sure if the pain or adrenalin hit to the heart was going to take me first.
Thanks NW....I like the Glock 20, going to take a look at one of those this weekend! Yep, love finding the Sotol discards, lots of info there....has to be the Hairyman IMO just because of the shear number I have found over the years, the remoteness, and the bruising & teeth scrapes found on the leaves. Here's a nice neat pile of discards, what animal would do this and lay them out so neatly, hmmm?
Just pulled the trigger on this little boat - it's only a few pounds and I can carry it for a short hike to a high mountain lake! We'll see how it does. It's a Klymit packraft.... could be a lot of fun! Found it on sale for $150 with free shipping and couldn't resist.
