Many encounters have been reported where a Sasquatch was reportedly shot. I only know of one where I consider the facts of the case to be totally reliable. They involve old time researchers Matt Moneymaker and Daryl Colyer (if the names aren't familiar look them up on the net). This is one of the few cases I'm aware of where a government coverup was instigated and was successful. I know of more but that's proprietary data and discussion is prohibited. This is one of the reasons why I don't go into the woods unarmed any more. You may draw your own conclusions but I still wonder how seriously the Bigfoot was injured and what happened afterwards? However, I now seriously doubt a BF can be killed knowing what we know now. BTW, I had a copy of the original report and it was lost when my computer crashed. A tech told me the computer had been hacked and deliberately destroyed. I will relate in another post what happened to me in October of 2016 and just how far the true force of Sasquatch can reach. Dang Huntster! That last sentence is very morbid thought for these creatures. @airforce47I believe that they can be killed, that they are flesh and blood. But I also believe that if we place a bead on them, they can feel it or sense it. Just like we can sense when someone is watching us. Who knows what the DoD does with these creatures. I tend to think that they are actively hunting these creatures. By doing clear cutting in certain areas. Where they make room for choppers to land. Taking these creatures and dropping them off into areas of research. But this is just my opinion. But it is through what I have observed. I think that the hacking of computers is normal in those who are getting close to some truth. Kind of a sneak and peak, destroy when they find something that they do not want no one to know. Facebook hacks, down to your computer. This is not normal and really aggravates your entire life. The worst is your phone. But you just move on. So, it does make one wonder. What makes these creatures so special that the government would go to extreme on covering up these creatures. My thought was when I sat on my tree stand. Was to try to shoot one with my bow or my crossbow. It is silent and is not loud. But then why would they stay well beyond the range of my bow and the crossbow. Could they understand the season? But going back to research and the government. They might follow certain researchers. They might not reach out to them. (researchers) But they are gathering intelligence from them. In the meantime everyone will be answering each other bigfoot call. While the creatures are being removed. Now this just my thought and opinion.1 point

In my long life, even before legal adulthood, I almost never went into the woods without being armed, and now I rarely go anywhere in public unarmed. I guarantee that they can be killed. Men have killed even blue whales on an industrial scale. Any of the rifles I regularly go afield with can easily kill a sasquatch, even if it escapes wounded to die later. I'm quite literally gunned for bears.......BIG bears........because I live in an area known for big bears. That written, and even though I formerly thought that killing a sasquatch for the advancement of science was valid, I no longer believe that a sasquatch should be intentionally killed. However, just one bluff charge or stalking event, and if I get a shot, I'll punch a hole through one with no regrets whatsoever, and I'd have no problem leaving it right where it falls for its kin to drag away or for the birds to feed on.1 point

I also noticed the somewhat hesitant gait of the creature walking up the hillside. I contrast this with what I am remembering of video footage taken by 3 hikers of a bipedal creature walking down (vs up) a fairly steep incline of a very snowy mountainside. In that video the creature looked like it was taking a brisk walk in Central Park. Yet it was going downhill on what must have been icy terrain. I will try to find that footage. Nonetheless, thank you, @Madison5716 for sharing the clip, I appreciate the chance to view it.1 point

I thought I replied to this, or maybe it hasn't been approved yet. So I hope this doesn't post twice, and apologize if it does. So very small background, but we've been trying to get on his property for some time through mutual friends. I've been hearing about him, and my friend's experiences, for a few years now. So it has been basically building up trust and a way to meet him and the place. He's just an old timer (doesn't even have internet out there) and can be somewhat crabby and distrusting in his old age I guess, hahaha. At least, that was my impression. But once got to know him a little and talk, he was pleasant. He's got some very cool tree structure pics, and a great one of a 'being' in his treeline behind the trailer watching his dog. i say 'being' because it was clearly a figure sort of crouched down. We could see the arms, legs, and eyes, and it was just odd looking in general. There are other cool things too. In fact my friend, who did the interview, put up his own trail cam up in a tree that got pulled out and tossed that it even had the metal screw attached to it bent up. We found a couple tree things ourselves. My one time solo in the area I had a weird huff/grunt thing happen and a small rock tossed at me from down in a ravine. One time we heard something that sounded like two legs run off (i'm not a scientist, but it did sound like that to my amateur ear) and briefly caught something black quickly taking off down this ravine. Of course, I can't claim what it was at all, certainly. But was just weird and made us (me for sure) jump! What is cool about the tree structures, sometimes they seem to lead or point to another down a ways, and then another, almost like directions. My one friend theorizes they point towards water, but I don't know. I'm just going along for the ride He has a lot of acreage, and the land next to his is owned by a company, and full of really dense forest and hilly areas (it's the spot where he and his friend saw the big black one step out). There's also a church nearby that a lady also claims she has them come there as well. And really, for me, it's just a lot of fun to get out and hike there anyway. I also find interesting, since getting into all this, that I have since found so many stories and podcasts and etc that are pretty darn close to his place. It's not definitively corroborating, but just I found personally interesting. Anyways, this answers absolutely nothing and helps even less, lol! But just wanted to give a little more info. And I needed a break from work for a few minutes, so thanks for reading! Hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend.1 point

I voted yes on this poll. Yes - not because I think there is government knowledge of this creature with an associated documented strategy to deny existence. Rather I have read of sightings documented by federal (fish, game, forest) personnel who would have little reason to concoct a story that isn't true. (The Oregon Bigfoot Highway written by Joe Beelart and friends comes to mind as one source of some of these stories.) These stories are one of the reasons I continue to find this area so fascinating...they don't really prove anything, of course, I recognize that. Ultimately I don't know any of these folks personally and am unable to vouch for their credibility and integrity. That said, someone who speaks up (usually very quietly) against the natural pressure to say nothing always gets my attention. Having been around the block a time or two, someone speaking up coming from that environment generally has already reported to their supervision what they have experienced, they don't just go rogue and decide to tell their story to brighten their day. I have enjoyed reading forum member's perspectives on this topic, thanks, everyone, looking forward to learning more about people's thoughts on this. Cheers to everyone.1 point

I had a possible sighting several years ago cant recall the exact year. But the one that I know deep inside was an actual sasquatch was the howl. I was sitting at home, around 12:30 am. Watching tv as Im a night owl. This was maybe 10 or so years ago. I reported both experiences to a bigfoot reporting place, cant recall exactly who but I will try to find out as they must have kept records of reported events. Anyway I was sitting in my livingroom, it was most likely summertime. I heard this exceptionally loud howl which was very close to my house and gave me goosebumps all over. Living in a rural area im very used to what owls sound like, coyotes and vixens. I went online and found audio clips of every animal sound for animals in my area. Nothing matched. Then I found a website that had audioclips of sasquatch recordings. A few were a bit similar but there was one recording that was the EXACT match... some "moan howl". Maybe from a sierra recording? But still, its my experience and no witnesses so what could I do? I reported it and am interested in the subject... thank you1 point

I have had a handful over the last 20 years starting in a couple encounters around the Round Valley reservoir in NJ and then to my great shock a few years later to the woods around my new house in NC. This is not my report but I suspect it is the same BF that was killing dear and making a commotion at night near my house in Hunterdon County NJ. https://bfro.net/GDB/show_report.asp?id=20608 My NC encounters are only in the late spring to mid-fall so I suspect they are using the rivers near me as migration routes from their summer mountain territories to other hunting grounds mid-state when the weather gets colder. I do not go searching for them but tend to trip over them every year or so hiking in the woods and wetlands around me with my dogs. I have developed a way to kind of track them which I have been working on the last couple of years that does not involve foot prints since the floor of our woods is 100% covered in vegetation and leaves. Good Luck,1 point

My first experience, when I saw the unmistakable prints was by chance. During the week after, it was reported in the news that a fly fisherman had seen a sasquatch in the creek below where we saw the prints, the day after. We moved to a place shortly after, that had screams, samurai chatter, howls and such. My brother saw one during this time. I believe they still come around there, but, their property is small now and we do not have access to the old property we had before. My brother and I decided to go hunting in a place we had not been to in a few years. We saw what I believe was a woven vine maple nest. Close by, that day, we went down an old cat road. The tops of all the fir and alder trees that lined the right side of the road, were close to 20 feet tall had the tops twisted to the right and were left hanging at about 12 to 15 feet high. This was for the entire length of the cat road and no other trees had this. We heard dozens of wood knocks very close by, sometimes as close as 50 yards, that paralleled us all they way up. A buddy and I decided to go to another place to hunt about 4 miles away as the crow flies. We heard knocks all evening and knocks every time we hunted there. We decided to hunt a spot a few weeks later about 10 miles away. I experienced a mind speak thing and my buddy saw a sasquatch near my location. A buddy and I go hunting and decide to hike in at night to do some elk bugling and a large boulder was THROWN at us. I go camping with some buddies for a hunting trip over 100 miles from where these experiences happened and we had a very scary night time visit. Another buddy and I go hunting in an area far from anywhere I had the experiences and we hear EXTREMELY loud roars similar to an African lion. I have an experience in the woods while hunting that was very much mind speak, but I can't say for sure that it is sasquatch related, although, I suspect it could be. My brother has a terrifying night with one charging their campsite with such veracity that they had to leave. He also had a full moon sighting of three sasquatches in a meadow that looked like boulders at about 50 yards away. Something didn't look right as they looked to be moving, so he approached the boulders. Then one stood up and my brother froze. Then it lunged forward and my brother ran through the woods back to the car. There are a lot of things that happened on my parents property that I could go on and on about. It does seem like there is something more than coincidence. But, I really don't want to read too much into it other than sometimes unexplainable things happen.1 point

I found that really interesting too. I can't remember where I saw it last either. But seeing that really shows that Sasquatch still prey on humans which is scary as hell. I'm sure some cases are Dogman related as well, maybe more of the cases I don't know.1 point
