  1. Ok 1st post. Time to stick my neck out. We'll see if it gets past the mods ;>) Evidence: Isn't the thousands of eye witnesses reports from decent everyday folks (who never asked to see one of these things) enough evidence? It is for me. Proof: So I read that as a dead body of whatever these things are. I tend to think they are less like primates and more like us than we want to think. Killing becomes a different thing when they have features like ours. Also, it would seem these things outclass us in just about every way. We are not talking about dropping a huge bear. What makes anyone think they travel alone? IF you could successfully execute one, what makes you think their clan/tribe/pod would allow you to have the body let alone your life? Seems like a bad idea. I believe the governments know full well about these beings. They don't want us to have proof. That's why all of those folks who didn't ask for an encounter are ridiculed when they tell their truth. A body won't change that.

  2. ^^^ When Law and Order is ready to have a 'Jump the Shark' episode, they can do this. Some guy goes out and shoots Bigfoot only to find out it's a hoaxer in a suit. Roll intro....

  3. Exactly. Whether or not Standing’s footage is a hoax is (obviously) a matter of debate. For me, many of the debunking attempts that people like to trot out are clumsy and laughable and don’t really do anything to disprove the images. The morphing face… the image where a tree branch was photoshopped out… I am sorry, but the attempts at debunking seem less believable than Standing’s images. Thinker Thunker video analysis is pretty arbitrary… and the way that he got his panties in a bunch over a comment by Stroud told me all that I needed to know. Thinker is too emotionally involved to be a neutral judge of the images. At the end of the day, people often jump upon the ‘he’s a hoaxer’ bandwagon because that’s what everyone else says. Or, they find Standing personally distasteful. Or, he ‘stole my area’…which is silly unless he broke into someone’s house, stole a deed to private land, and then took legal possession of said land. Personally, I am on the fence about Standing’s images. But, I will evolve my opinion on the merits of the images themselves, not because someone told me to think that they were fake. And honestly… Standing is actually getting out there into the backcountry and doing the work, not sitting around preaching from his keyboard. That alone is worth some kudos

  4. Grover Kranz said words to this effect about shooting Bigfoot: The first man to do it, they will give him a medal The next man to do it, they will give him the electric chair.

  5. In my long life, even before legal adulthood, I almost never went into the woods without being armed, and now I rarely go anywhere in public unarmed. I guarantee that they can be killed. Men have killed even blue whales on an industrial scale. Any of the rifles I regularly go afield with can easily kill a sasquatch, even if it escapes wounded to die later. I'm quite literally gunned for bears.......BIG bears........because I live in an area known for big bears. That written, and even though I formerly thought that killing a sasquatch for the advancement of science was valid, I no longer believe that a sasquatch should be intentionally killed. However, just one bluff charge or stalking event, and if I get a shot, I'll punch a hole through one with no regrets whatsoever, and I'd have no problem leaving it right where it falls for its kin to drag away or for the birds to feed on.

  6. If it's real and it's flesh and blood, a properly placed shot with a .22 could kill it.
