  1. I would roll around on the ground just so I could get the scent of a given area on me. This way I would smell just like that forest. So yes, you are right that they do have a natural ghillie suit on them. This lets them blend in very well within the forest. So, spotting them in the trees or in the forest does make it difficult to spot them. Unless you are right on top of them. The trees do support the idea of them not leaving tracks when tracking them. Also does the hard surface of rock ledges of ridges that they might take. High ground is always an advantage to any animal or Humans. As well as knowing wind direction, in which case I believe they are capable of understanding. Now I am not familiar with larger game other than whitetail deer. But big bucks have a tendency to watch trails as well as understand wind direction. So, these creatures might have the same ability to do the same. Just my opinion. What seems odd is that this family happen to be outnumbered by these creatures. Now they were not attacked, but only observed. It could be that they might have never seen this act of skating on ice. We have to place ourselves in how they might have been thinking about these humans. Skating is not the same as walking. Skating is a gliding motion that is performed on ice. This act could be the trigger that brought this clan together for observation. You have an intelligent being that is now learning something new for the first time. It seems kind of scary to say this. But what could have happened if this group of Humans would have left a pair of skates behind? would they have picked up the skates and tried to use them as a tool? There is no way that we would ever know. But one thing is for sure. This group of Humans unknowingly did get the attention of a whole clan. Thats even if this story is even true. Which I am thinking that it is.

  2. I'm excited to head south and visit Skamania soon. Will be near some known hotspots and do some hiking and audio drops. It's the first opportunity I've had in a few years recording far from home.

  3. I don't know why, I just have a hard time believing anything from tiktok. It could be a video about the sky being blue on a sunny day and I'd probably still raise an eyebrow.

  4. Seems that in general there is a curiosity by BF, be it of adults or kids. I’d guess on a very basic level there are three main interactions with BF. Curiosity or observation - Most likely in a neutral or safe environment for BF. Aggression - Most likely due to a perceived threat be it territory, food/water, or family. Avoidance - For whatever reason they move the other way, to many reasons this could be.

  5. Seems like a congenial enough fellow! Interesting story. I'm intrigued by the account of the one climbing the tree. Might have some bearing on that old thread about do adults climb trees and how can the branches support them?

  6. Hi everyone. I've been a Bigfoot enthusiast for many years, especially after reading Jeff Meldrum's book, Sasquatch Legend meets Science. Was amazed at how much actual evidence there is. Bigfoot kind of faded from my memory for a few years until I was browsing through Discovery+ and came upon Expedition Bigfoot. Really enjoyed it, and had a bit of discussion with a family member who recommended this forum. I'm retired living in central Texas and enjoy gardening, cooking and French bulldogs. Probably spend to much time on the sofa watching classic movies, hence the potato moniker. Don't think there's many sightings in my neck of the woods, although we had an issue with feral hogs a few years back . Hope springs eternal.

  7. My new book is available. You can order it on Amazon or Pre-Order an autographed copy at my website here: Alasquatch Podcast Website Here is the description from the back of the book: Ignored by mainstream science, the burden of proving the existence of Bigfoot has been thrust upon amateur researchers and citizen scientists. Bigfoot enthusiasts have taken to the woods with little or no training in how to collect, document and preserve the evidence they discover. In Squatch Cop: Investigating and Documenting the Bigfoot Phenomenon, retired police investigator Larry “Beans” Baxter provides a detailed guide for those hoping to find and collect evidence of Bigfoot and other cryptid phenomenon. Drawing on his years working in law enforcement in Alaska, the author details the best methods and practices for documenting and collecting evidence. Included are chapters on how to photograph, collect and store physical evidence, collecting DNA evidence as well as interviewing witnesses and report writing. This book is an important addition to the library of any serious enthusiast who wants to spend time in the field searching for the elusive Bigfoot.

  9. Bobbie Short, curator of the immensely popular Bigfoot Encounters website, witness, and decades long Bigfoot researcher drafted an important book, The de facto Sasquatch, before her sudden passing in 2013. The title was taken, by permission from a lecture by the late Ph.D. wildlife biologist Dr. John Bindernagel. Family members Chris Millet and Reverend Kimberely Brittan enabled the draft to be completed in installments. The first installment concerns Native American history; and, military reports. The editor and prime mover of Bobbie's book is Molly Hart-Lebherz. Molly is assisted by: Sharon Day, Steve Summar, M.K. Davis, Sybilla Irwin, Don Monroe, and others. Contributing artists are: RobRoy Menzies, Alex Evans, and David Claerr. The first installment is available through Bigfootencounters.com or directly via: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/596c0bae4c0dbfa1d26e86be/t/5b9bff06562fa7cfcdf1bfc8/1536950038606/The+de+facto+Sasquatch+premier+installment.pdf .
