  1. Been super busy the past couple of weeks. My dad fell ill and has extreme dizziness and balance issues, then kidney issues. Kidney issues resolved but still no idea what's causing the dizziness. It started a few days after his 4th Covid booster shot and I've heard there's been some issues with lot's of other older folks. He had to go to the ER, then the hospital, and now is in a critical care nursing unit of a local old folks home. I ended up having to re-home his bird dog, Norm. He's an English Setter professionally trained by some master trainer in Cheney, WA. Norm is only 4 and super sweet, but full of energy and my dad can't care for him anymore. I ended up taking him in as I couldn't find anyone that wanted him. So, looks like I will be getting into bird hunting, lol. Went out to pick him up yesterday and there was a bad accident about 300 yards down the road from my dad's place. The vehicle on it's side is a Honda CR-V and was stopped at a group of mailboxes 20 yards away when it was rear-ended by a 1976 Ford F-250 4x4 lifted and running 35" tires. The impact was so severe that it launched the CR-V down the road and onto it's side. The F-250 was pulled over and still drive-able. What does this have to do with Bigfoot? Well, if you recall, the last bad accident here made national news when a lady claimed she was driving at nearly this exact spot when she saw a Bigfoot chasing a deer along the road and the deer ran in front of her car and caused her to crash. I suspect this crash had nothing to do with Bigfoot, however, and simply a distracted driver, possibly looking for elk and deer that are typically out on the hillside to the left in the second photo. Oh, and I got a new girlfriend who lives up in Mead, WA, has a 4Runner, new camper, and loves to explore the woods, so that will be nice this summer. Norm...

  2. Thankfully, the Canadians stopped them. They even stopped Alaskans from driving home for a while. I like a 2000 mile wide border!

  3. Sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope he recovers soon. I'm 78, had all my shots and boosters, including the latest bivalent Covid, and Flu shot recently, with no side effects other than a tender spot on my arm for a few days. Norm's a great looking dog, I hope you both get out in the field often, it'll be good for you both. Congrats on the new lady friend, it's wonderful that you can share outdoor activities together. My wife loved camping and 4 wheeling with me for many years, but is now confined to a wheelchair, and can no longer endure even a few hours in the 4x4, it's too hard on here body now. Make the most of your times together, they'll make great memories.

  4. You know, that may not be a bad idea. I don't know what people generally think of Mr. Robert Morgan, but I've read his books and he takes a very non-provacative, peaceful approach of respect as I recall. He instructs one to go in with respect for not only the creatures but the land. I've heard him talk of holding your arms up and turning and saying hello and stating how you mean no harm and even apologizing for intruding. His book "Bigfoot Observers Field Manual" outlines these approaches. Worth a look see I believe. Also....welcome back SAWASAS!

  5. I don't believe 100% it was a horse either for several reasons. The two times it looked away when it turned it's head it didn't swing it's head like a creature with a long neck would it turned it's head like a human does. Yes, Doug. It surely was freaky. I like to consider myself a nature person. I have Native American heritage and grew up learning Lakota skills. Animals don't usually get me excited in any way. I've been within rock-throwing distance of black bear and mountain lion many times and it didn't creep me out like this did. This scared me enough that I drove out of there as fast as it was safely possible to get back over the little bridge to the main road. More so by the expression in it's eyes than the fact that it was there and I didn't know what it was. If I didn't have the notion it might have been a Sasquatch I wouldn't have posted here and it wouldn't be haunting me the way it has since it happened. From it's size and the way what I could see of it moved the thought that it was a bigfoot went through my mind as I shared eye contact with it. I've seen some really big male deer in this area but I don't think it's possible for a buck's eyes to be above my 6 foot 4 inch high truck (jeep) roof as far as away as it was. At a guess from where it's eyes were from the ground it was almost 8 feet tall. I would guess my head is close to 6' off the ground sitting in the drivers seat. It was looking down at me from 8 to 10 feet away. I somehow knew if it took one stride with one leg, not even half a stride with the other, it could have it's nose on my window or bash away at my truck if it was going to. It ran off when I released the brake pedal and my brake lights dimmed. We were still staring at each other as I did that. It's such a relief to finally get this off my chest, share this story. It's really been erking my mind pretty badly since it happened. I get flashbacks of it staring at me the way it was often.

  6. Well, from what you've described, sasquatch is as good a guess as any. That said, it's not proof or even evidence, because you didn't see it well enough for a positive ID, you simply saw it and have eliminated many possibilities .. which is not the same thing. Did you mention eye color? I don't see where you said .. and that would be interesting. I don't think you'll ever truly know what it it was. You can come up with some possibilities but you'll never know because you didn't turn that flashlight on. I'm not ridiculing .. I had a similar situation, not identical, a few years back and though I was prepared, in the moment I decided to just let prudence be the better part of valor. I had decided if anything happened in camp I'd stick my hand out and see what happened. Push really did come to shove, which I really didn't expect, and when it did, I decided "eh, maybe next time." Color me chicken. PS: Welcome to the forum.
