I had read every word of the correspondence exchanges between the SGP and Nature's peer reviewers when everything first came out. And a lot of Nature's statements still grate on me to this day. I don't pick stupid battles just for the sake of lashing out at ghosts or simply to display any skills at debate. The paper that was first submitted did need revisions and revisions was what it got- as was asked for. But it was obvious from the beginning that the paper was doomed. Not because it wasn't "scientific" enough, but because it was based on a subject that couldn't be allowed to have a scientific audience or credence in any way shape or form. As far as the BF community was concerned? It wasn't good enough that the paper got rejected. Nope, let loose the hounds anyway to make sure that Dr. Ketchum and the study was so vilified, and so brutally, that the level of the attack itself became suspect. To this day I truly am convinced that it was an organized effort aimed at making sure that the science of Sasquatch, no matter who conducted it, was slated for destruction right from the get go. If folks today STILL don't think that the subject of Sasquatch existence isn't a dangerous topic then read the entire SGP presentation and then think again. An enormous amount of power and effort has gone into slamming the study and attacking D. Ketchum that it should be obvious that NO ONE, Dr. Disotell, Dr. Meldrum, Dr. Mayor, or any other researcher or Sasquatch study won't get the same treatment to themselves or their careers if any of them ever gets as close to the truth about the reality of the creature as Dr. Ketchum did. My advice to everyone is to THOROUGHLY read through ALL articles in the SGP and they will see the obvious purposeful dismantling of the study. And for no other reason than that it threatens billions if not trillions of dollars in revenue brought in from just about every outdoor activity one can think of- whether its corporate harvesting or recreational activities of all sorts. Say what you will folks. The scientific DNA study results are there. But the BEST way to get folks to not look at them is to trash the authors of that study. An effort that has never ceased in its vehemence at every moment and every chance that the subject comes up. But I see no one slamming the results of the Washington nest DNA results? I don't know why that is, because as far as I can see those results are basically corroborating Dr. Ketchum results. BOTH the SGP and Dr. Disotell are saying HUMAN. BOTH of them. Ketchum had 130 samples, Disotell had five. But BOTH came out Human. And yet only Ketchum got vilified? But of the two, Ketchum and Disotell, which one SHOWED THEIR WORK? Which one was a five year double blind study across 12 independent labs? Which one presented papers to NATURE? Which DNA outcome went PUBLIC? Which study was the most courageous? And then which one got the worst backlash and STILL gets the worst backlash to this day? Time to wake up folks because we have vicious wolves in the herd who work hard to stifle truth and discovery at every turn. Rant over? You bet it isn't.3 points

When it comes to Ketchum? I’m thoroughly NOT convinced. Can you stop beating around the bush please? Are you talking about the US government? As I stated before. While the government may or may not interfere? Melba Ketchum would be the least of their worries. In fact it’s so bad? She may work for them…. Let’s start with the fact that she has never denounced Matilda and the Erickson project for starters…. this hoax could have been perpetrated by a couple of kids and a Star Wars costume! Standings muppet heads are better and that is saying something.2 points

"Attacked"? I didn't even disagree with YOUR attack on Ketchum. I agreed that she made huge mistakes in several ways........just not technical in her dna work. I simply stated that the dna work, performed at several labs, much of it blind, and it all confirming the various labs involved pretty much stands uncontested. The very first words in the first round of peer review from the first peer admitted that he/she wasn't a geneticist and wasn't qualified to review the work. I quoted that peer and provided the reference. So that is an "attack" on you? And for that brazen offense, you drag the very beautiful and ultra sweet Mrs. Huntster into your scientific review with aspersions regarding her purity? My, my, Larry. Looks to me like you exemplify the very problem here. You're not a scientist. You're an ideologue defending his ideology, and doing so with viciousness.2 points

I have not seen this guy's channel before but yesterday, YouTube's all knowing algorhithm suggested this video for me. I don't want to taint any responses so I won't say much yet, but I'd like to know what you all think. Start at 1:161 point

The most tragic part of the Ketchum story, like so many before her, is the resulting precedent and stigma. We can see this with the PG film. First, Science largely ignores it, government completely (and conspicuously) ignores it, the producer of the evidence is attacked and discounted, and the few qualified scientists who publish comments write that it just has to be a hoax, but they have no idea how it was done. Over the subsequent years, as people analyze it and bring up pertinent facts, the skeptic industry mobilize to drive a stake in its heart with a Greg Long style fabrication which then becomes the newest reality paraded by the media. The whole while that same media machine makes bank with bigfoot cartoons, commercials, and silly movies. Ketchum screwed this up big time. They don't even have to stir up a Greg Long or Margaryan to finish this off. It's over.........except for her published data. They can discredit her and even attack the data, but they cannot make it disappear now. Will sasquatchery be arguing about Melba Ketchum 50 years from now? Oh, you'd better believe they will. There are two main reasons for that: 1) Government, even more than the high priests of Science, simply cannot allow these creatures to be discovered. They are every bit as dangerous to government as little green men from outer space. So this mystery continues on beyond all our lifespans. 2) Over the ensuing years, more and more data supporting the Ketchum study will be produced by others. Each entity who does so will be destroyed like Ketchum or quickly countered like Sykes was. But the reality will eventually take root: These creatures are human. Homo Somethings. We won't be going back to "apes", regardless how badly some folks want to.1 point

Look people…. We are not your enemy. And we are not the people you need to convince. Most people here are proponents of Bigfoot, myself included. But Melba Ketchum needs to convince the scientific community that her DNA study is valid. I’m pretty sure if that happens I will hear about it. I’ve said my peace and warned people about giving her money. 👍1 point

The BFF DB, look at the top of the forum website, there's a tab for SSR. "SSRS" is a mistyping because there's another FLA four letter acronym called SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Service) that I type far too often, as I'm not a SQL Server DBA, and it just sort of spewed out onto the keyboard. It should read "SSR Database". Save it to a local file, save as a CSV, open up your terminal program and run: cut -d"," -f6 SSR-All-1-1-2022.csv | cut -d"/" -f3 | sort | uniq -c | sort -nbr | sort -k2,2 LOL been on the command line in Linux since Slackware in 1994, so parsing text files, especially things like CSV files, is a piece of cake. Any row you want data from after an entry that has quoted comas, like "1 - Single, no evidence" requires special handling with a tool called awk, but still not a huge deal. I sliced and diced for giggles, and did the same summary but class A/B/C per year, or any of the fields: SSRID,Classified,NED,AGPS,Date,SDate,US POP,US POP (M),longitude,latitude,altitude,Hour,Minute,Duration,Season,State,County,Type,Witness,WActivity,WAge,WGender,WFeeling,WOccupation,BFROClass,Terrain,Zone,EyeShine,Odor,Lore,PhotoEvidence,FootPrint,PrintLength1,PrintLength2,Stride-ft,Stride-in,Height-ft,Height-in,HairColor,Skin,Blood,Dermal,Feces,Hair,Remains,Tissue,Eating,Food,Hunting,Knocking,Speech,Objects,Road,Standing,Stalking,Vocalization,Whistling,Swimming,TreeBreaking,Growling,Squatting,ActOther,Aggressive,Curious,Indifferent,Scared,Surprised,Crawling,Gliding,Jogging,Running,Walking,OnAllFours,Sunny,PartlyCloudy,OverCast,Rain,Sleet,Fog,Snow,Wind,ClearSkies,Organization,Researcher,Confidence,repscore,URL like if you wanted to see the # of sightings where weather is mentioned as clear skies, it's just a field # away. Mostly, I got into the SSR data because I wanted to see if the Lat/Lon followed a pattern during the year. Specifically the latitude. Does the average latitude of sightings in a particular state change over the seasons? or Altitude. But frankly, it would be some tool like PowerBI that will expose more interesting stats from the DB as it's designed to map data, hopefully spot patterns. Chat GPT is probably a better analysis method, but since each report in the database is essentially unrelated, you can't exactly track a single entity through the seasons, further analysis on things like average altitude, average latitude and whatnot kind of becomes moot with the large deltas between each sighting.1 point

Hello all, I hail from East Tennessee. I was raised in NW Ga. I have memories from childhood of what I now believe were visits from the creatures. Shadows with movements in the dark open windows, chattering voices and feelings of being watched. I never mentioned this to my parents, but i think my Dad was suspicious as well. At one point he removed all of the shrubbery near the house. All the trees surronding the house were cut to the ground. With no explaination... My mother thought he was having paranoid episodes. Our flock of chickens was getting smaller and smaller. We stopped shutting them up at night because the door would be opened in the morning anyway. He told us to let them roost in the trees. I have had those feelings of being watched into my adulthood....now I'm obsessed to learn all i can. I'm glad to be here.1 point

Pepper's ghost. It's fraud, the guy has a pane of glass between the camera and the trees, and he's off to the side moving, and what we're seeing is the reflection.1 point

It's the only data there is to work with. It goes without saying there are sightings that never got reported to any organization. There may also be reported sightings that were submitted but never reported by a sasquatch group for whatever reason. I know of multiple sightings, and their approximate locations, told to me by people who pass my veracity test and none of them has ever reported the sighting to any of these groups. Almost everything related to sasquatch is anecdotal. As such, any conclusion drawn about any issue or question is probably hazarding a guess at best. Nevertheless, I think reasonable people can draw reasonable conclusions with available information. Dr. Henner Fahrenbach's studies and conclusion about sasquatch foot size are an example. A conclusion I've drawn relates to the best time period to be out sasquatching in my area. I used the SSR and pulled reports in my areas of interest to discern the most likely time to have a sighting/encounter. Well I'll be darned if it hasn't aligned exactly with my own experience (or mine with it).1 point

Your 3 paragraphs are pretty spot on... A lot of us knew at the time but I dont think the players in this study expected the levels or weight that was coming and thought if they really had the goods they would win the day... but this information was never going to be allowed in the main... under no circumstance. I have to wonder if the Doc would have given up longer ago if she had not also had her experiences with the SSQ. Having the moles in her circles did not help either...1 point

Rant on, Friend. I wish I could stamp that post with three or four crowns. It was perfect. Yup, Nature and their hand picked "peers" were assassins, and they await the next fool who dares bring this up again. Sykes was no sooner in the grave before Margaryan rose up to shoot up Sykes theory on an earlier migration out of Africa. Zana had to be a common slave, even though there was absolutely nothing common about her. The fix is in, and it's here to stay.1 point

LMAO! It was a discussion that you would never be a part of which is fine by me. Mainly because you're simply too busy with your childish whack-a-mole games. So carry on, my friend, and have at it, you're doing just fine Leave the science to the big boys.1 point

@JKH It is very much puzzling. I joined to ask a few questions, hoping researchers or others who share the same experiences may know the answers. Also, to give the same researchers information about the activities here. I do think some of you pay close attention to details that people report. I hope that my information contributes in some way, something to think about.1 point

I feel like I am being cheated…. If you’re gonna hoax? Please do a good job! Can we elevate our game to a B rated horror film? I demand that I be scared for at least 2 seconds! I don’t want to look at your video and pretend I have two trick or treaters in Walmart ape masks looking back at me! CMON!🥱😴1 point

Not all of it. Belief didn’t get her in hot water with the state of Texas, neither did Bigfoot. I don’t understand why most of us will not give Todd Standing a pass, but we will give Melba Ketchum a pass? Explain that to me? This hero worship of charlatans does absolutely nothing to help our cause. As a community we are better off with competent, honest representatives that have real peer reviewed results! 🤷♂️1 point
