  1. Shouldn't have missed sasquatch class that day, Hiflier, simple as that!

  2. Curiosity works on many animals. A simple example is a house cat and large paper bag. Funny to watch. Animals have to watch, follow/track, smell, lick, scratch, and bite/taste to name a few tactics so they can learn. Unwashed horse blankets and unwashed horse tail hair. Simple low cost obtainable olfactory signaling. Not species specific though. I tried this years ago in a 3 camera setting. The major problem was that I was busted putting up the first camera. Watched from over 90 feet away. I did not know until I checked the trail camera images on slide show mode. Despite being busted, I tested the local animal inventory. Buying horse blankets and horse tail hair off of ebay and craigslist gets laundered items with less 'horse effect'. I unraveled the horse blanket and made a wad of horse blanket fiber in a block of ice. The block of ice concept was to deliver a scent with a variable drip rate. The drip rate at night is slower due to cooler temperatures. Warm air flows uphill during the day and cooler air flows downhill at night. The idea was to olfactory signal uphill--downhill in a ravine. Your results may vary. Seemed like a good idea until the time came to hike uphill with a block of ice. My audience of black bears went crazy. They smelled horse, knew horse but could not find horse. All animals watch horses. Patty watched horses. Horseplay is good.

  4. It's been noticed that the "Events" list isn't often checked, so here goes this. Also, there are signs this gathering will be very well attended by numerous Bigfoot people. Make hotel reservations. A Memorial Celebration of A Fortunate Life will be held for Peter on Sunday, September 17th 2023 from 2-4 pm PST at the Kiawanda Community Center (34600 Cape Kiwanda Dr, Pacific City, OR 97135). Friends can record their remarks/wishes on their cell phone and send to lmprods@gmail.com in order to be part this celebration. Remembrances: A journalism scholarship has been established in Peter's honor: The Peter Byrne Endowed Scholarship Fund in Journalism for the Talent and Love of Writing. Checks or funds may be sent payable to the Nestucca High School, PO Box 38, Cloverdale, Oregon 97112. Contributions can also be made to the International Wildlife Conservation Society which was founded by Peter in 1968. Please send your tax-deductible contribution to International Wildlife, PO Box 703, Pacific City, Oregon, 97135. The photo by Joe Beelart was made in October 2007 after Peter invited Joe to the coast to investigate a Bigfoot sighting in which the Bigfoot was walking and eating clams on an estuary shore. The van is one made to order by Peter in the 1970s and was modified into a camper. It has seen service in Nepal, India, and throughout the Pacific Northwest.

  5. Nice rig! Here is mine. My son built it for me. We got a award at the IOX event in Bonners Ferry this spring!

  6. Norseman, how we forget. The PGF images that we see are an Ektachrome copy film of a Kodachrome film. The exposure for the Ektachrome copies was lightened up since Patty was a black hairy animal. The exposure change was an attempt to show more detail. I get dizzy trying to keep track of the PGF copies. There is one person who knows the copies. The most abused frame is VFC frame 354, a.k.a. frame 252---- the look back frame. The look back frame is from American National Enterprises PGF copy 8, with 4 times zoom of the film frame. I am uncertain if the ANE copy was a contact or optical print. We can't use the 4X image to determine the color of Patty's hair. The non zoomed copies show black hair and the images are over exposed. Considering the over exposure, we can successfully speculate that Patty had very black hair. I tried to keep the PGF copy details straight and if I erred, some one will jump in with corrections. And Norseman, if you want to stir things up, jump into the resolution conundrum of the Ektachrome copy film resolution on top of Kodachrome daylight film resolution. Can of worms.

  7. My heart dropped seeing that. I have never seen that bust before. But that is nearly exactly what I saw. I added a photo with markings. The brown was the shape of the head, it was more round. And the teal was the huge tree it was peeking out from behind. Mind you, I was this through binoculars. And after, I stood there and took a picture of me in its location. It’s head was at least twice as big as mine.0

  8. I don't know... You can walk in the woods for free, but is it going to be in an area with verified Sasquatch activity, led by someone who is somewhat of an expert on them, and who is also a moderate TV celebrity? I can see the value in him charging people to go in the woods with him if it's a spot where there is activity. Similarly, Cody Lundin, who is also a minor TV celebrity from the TV show, Dual Survival, offers to take students into the woods and teach them basic survival skills for $695. https://www.codylundin.com/essential_abo.html
