After the whole official UFO story dropped? Things must have gotten kinda weird over there for the ole JREFers……poor buggers. Lots of screaming and wailing and then……3 points

I'm actually featured in this series for anyone who didn't know, Joe Perdue. Anyways, I remember when this happened. Les messaged me shortly after this incident and sent the pictures. It predated Doug Hajicek's sebum sample collection project and by what I remember no data other than the video and pictures were collected. The hand print was much larger than les's and in unusual locations. It was an interesting event for sure, what it was that touched that vehicle remains an unknown and another human can not be ruled out completely in many of these areas especially where the vehicle was parked.2 points

It might have begun right here on BFF 1.0. Years ago there was skeptic named Saskeptic (who later joined and participated on the James Randi Foundation forum as Shrike, which later became the International Skeptic Forum) who claimed to be an ornithologist and university professor. He and I would get into lively debates. Of course, one of my beloved positions is that government has a responsibility to put some effort and investment into determining if sasquatches exist, and I posted my suspicions regarding government behavior regarding the phenomenon, especially the PG event. We debated that often. Lo and behold, he opened a thread regarding government responsibility and said that he held a symposium of some kind with government wildlife management personnel at some sort of conference. I can't seem to find the thread now. Maybe that's because it was BFF 1.0. Now, I'm not saying that his symposium changed USFW policy, but I'm pretty convinced that the internet, and BFF in particular, was a wake up call for government to coordinate their responses and develop boilerplate BS for inquisitive bigfoot hunters. Loose lips sink ships..........2 points

Yes, if the govt has a position then they could and should explain how it was arrived at. However when it comes to the govt I’ve long believed in the adage not to ascribe to malice that which can be explained by ignorance.1 point

I don't believe the government is involved at any cover up level on anything bigfoot. There are 3 interesting scenarios I can think of about the concept of bigfoot and government: 1- What happens in a city, county, state that passes a law about 'you can't kill a bigfoot' if someone actually did kill a bigfoot? 2- What happens in a city, county state if there was no law on the books and someone killed one? 3- What happens if someone believed fanatically bigfoot exists and shot one only to find out it was a case of mistaken identity (hoaxers, practical jokers and so on)? In these scenarios I wonder how the government would react? Would a DA prosecute? Would a DNR guy take the animal for having no tag? Would the law fine the person for killing a bigfoot since the law in that state said you cannot? Again, I 100% don't believe the government is involved in Bigfoot to the extent it has one or has proof of one. I don't believe the government is making bigfoot in some scientific experiment and I don't believe they are visitors from another planet or dimension. If that is all true and if bigfoot exists, those 1sts two scenarios might happen at some point. The 3rd one sadly could happen any day now.1 point

Agreed, recreational status is assigned to humans. I don't think that they have 'semi-acceptance of existence'. Hunting, fishing, birding, geocaching, orienteering, mineral prospecting etc are recreational activities. Snipe hunting conducted by adults is also recreation. No license needed, maybe parking permit and no bag limit. The only recreation that Sasquatch have that comes to mind is scaring humans. A huge hurdle is the lack of Linnean Taxonomy for Sasquatch at this point in time. I don't think that 'unclassified biped' will fly. hiflier, I could not open the JPG of the email that you posted. The message was 'unavailable'. You might be on the bad boy list. Now, I will preach to the choir. Lose the 'Bigfoot' term if you are proceeding with nasty grams to Federal people. The term 'Bigfoot' is a journalistic word that evolved from the Ray Wallace hoaxing of 1958. The media swallowed the stomper tracks and the term stuck. 'Bigfoot' is from California. I don't know the term that the indigenous groups of Maine use. Please use Sasquatch. 'Sasquatch' is from S.W. British Columbia. It is from the Salish language. 'Sasquits' or Sasq' ets. Europeans anglicized the word to 'Sasquatch'. Small steps.1 point

This is precisely what we should expect from a government trying to hide what it knows, and it also screams of internal discussion on how to officially treat the issue.1 point

I’m with Huntster here. If you think you have the “smoking gun”, the ultimate “gotcha” against the gov’t based on “recreational activity” then post it up here! It ain’t like the gov’t don’t have what they sent you! It’s from them! Starting a thread that’s cornerstone is a gov’t statement, then not putting it out there is worthless. We are how many pages in and you are the only one that has all the information. Context means everything. Holding it back makes this whole thread worthless. There is no discussion to be truly had if you are withholding the key piece.1 point

And the ESA requires study to determine if a species qualifies for ESA protection. Since the government *presumably* cannot show any study whatsoever of the species, as suit could require them to perform one. Remember that any official proclamation of either existence or non-existence puts the USFW Service on the hot seat. And I answer again: Because this is the legal position they have taken which doesn’t require acknowledgement, action, or the denial of activity to bigfooters, which would generate resistance. And I repeat again: They are under an ESA ruling. Until that comes, the USFW Service is free to treat the issue like the military treats the UFO issue. Correct. And when presented with the question, under oath, on whether or not they’ve studied the reports they and others receive, and the evidence presented that suggests that they do indeed exist, they will have to admit that they have not studied it, or present their study results, or lie about any knowledge that they have. The recreational status applies to bigfooters, not Bigfoots. This activity allows citizens to look for the creatures, and actually indicates the department’s semi-acceptance of existence. They won’t respond to anything until a federal judge tells them to respond. That is the precise reason why the ESA exists and was written the way it was.1 point

So. It's kind of another Catch-22. Because it's considered a recreational activity it doesn't come under the jurisdiction of USFW. And the it's not under the jurisdiction of USFW because they consider it a recreational activity. This is similar to the scientific Catch-22 where science isn't allowed to investigate the Sasquatch because there isn't enough credible evidence. But there's no credible evidence because science isn't allowed to investigate the Sasquatch. In other words, gov-speak. And also gov-rationale because their arguments loop around and fold back on themselves.1 point

A tip? Yes. Ask your research partner. He might just still have it safe in his possession, and ready to return it to you any time you like. And when and if he remembers to.1 point

Here is the second video. This one is from from West Virginia. I wondered if any of our West VA. people on here might be familiar with this already and maybe know something about it. The prints and smudges were on the back of a truck belonging to who I think is the founder of West Virginia Crytids and Strange Encounters. He starts talking at 52:34 about how he had discovered the handprints on the back of his truck. Fortunately he says just where he is. He was on Bickle Knob, in Randolph County.1 point
