It’s not that we dont like the topic. I find it silly that Hiflier thinks this is some kind of “Got Ya” moment on the government. Like all things Hiflier, he will push and cry about this agenda until he “quits” the BFF again. Then he’ll be back 3 weeks later with a new agenda. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.4 points

I must be missing something, I've seen the picture of the creature's left side and it bending over with it's head on the ground, but no more of the creature itself. Just the pictures of deer/bear at the same feeder and the scaled pictures with the photoshopped images on them, other than that I've never seen any more.2 points

I think I laid out my thoughts pretty well on why this line of reasoning will fail. There just isn’t anymore to say. We cannot build a house without building a strong foundation first. That foundation is proof the species is real. Once we do that? We can then interchange an owl species for a primate species and sue the USFWS for X,Y or Z…. Until that day comes? No matter if we like it or not? Bigfoot IS a mythological creature. And the powers that be will treat is as such.2 points

It’s not belittling, it’s calling out your repeated behavior. It’s a pattern. Do you forget how just a few days ago you made your return, as I predicted, and your first post back is instantly chastising the board for not acknowledging the PGF anniversary? Was that for a good purpose?2 points

A drooling permit is probably closer to being accurate1 point

Thank you, Huntster, I've definitely learned some good things from you about this stuff. And thank you, too, DrPSH and georgerm. I have to admit, sometimes I get a little burnt out from such efforts and need breaks. But this thread has been one of those really interesting and, I hope, positive in it's subject and direction. On the DNA side, since I prefer winter research to look for a trackway to sample, including solo camping in my camper shell depending on how far my travels take me, so far I have not found anything to get from snow prints. This winter is supposed to be more active weather-wise so who knows- maybe something will show itself. Norseman, you are right about the permits to STUDY wildlife. But something "mythical" wouldn't qualify for a permit. They wouldn't dare issue you one for such purposes so the field is wide open in regards to our Hairy Friend I also think Twist's post about Bigfoot being flesh and blood or spiritual was great. Either case would be a good discussion and both characteristics rolled into one would go deeper still into both of those concepts. There has been much already covered in each of them but Wild creatures do seem to have a very precise way of reading their habitats so flesh and blood AND spiritual, though it may not be a true spiritual thing would be a fascinating talk. For instance, Wendigo IS a spiritual concept involving a personification of insatiable greed. Huntster's post above says it all.1 point

It's both. This was one of the best books I've read in my life: https://www.amazon.com/Make-Prayers-Raven-Koyukon-Northern/dp/0226571637 It explains aboriginal Koyukon spirituality perfectly. A chapter on the woodsman (sasquatch) is included. It's required reading for anybody wishing to understand native spirituality. Check the Amazon reviews My thread on this from 2004:1 point

I, for one, appreciate the passionate discussion in this specific thread. @hiflier, kudos to you for not giving up. @Huntster, dude, you have the most amazing life experiences! Not sure what you have experienced in your past exploits with the ESA (you have probably shared that with the forum and I just haven't found it) but you have me leaning into the potential for - at worst - a robust discussion in a court of law about something that could be the start of some actual action from the feds in terms of boots on the ground supportive research. OR...it is possible that both of you are the world's best method actors playing a courtroom scene back and forth. Regardless of which it is, I appreciate the opportunity to 'read along' with this discussion. I can't offer legal expertise and I'm not sure I have ever met someone from the FWS (closest I've come is meeting some nice park rangers, NOT the same but like I said, they were very nice). Life is 'life-ing' at the moment, I can't promise that I can keep up with this dialogue in the short term, but just wanted to say thanks for taking my mind in a different direction on the topic of our mutual favorite furry friend.1 point

Exactly there is no smoking gun photo that shows the creature as a Bear….. There is no photo of a mangy Bear that replicates what is seen in the pictures for that matter. (Mange simply causes hair loss and muscle and tissue density loss, due to starvation, poor animals, from mites) I am more than happy to be wrong. And I will re-examine my position if new photos are produced.1 point

As a distinct species, yes. But then that calls into question what exactly is a modern human, and that can vary due to hybridization. I like to tell people I'm mostly human.1 point

Yep, once verifiable proof of existence (body/tissue samples) are produced I'd imagine federal/state wildlife agencies would move quickly to establish protections and authorize studies. Until then you're banging your head against a wall taking them to court no matter how clever your arguments. In a way you can't blame them, and wouldn't surprise me if there were a number of people in official positions who thought there might be something to it. But if they'd authorize what would probably be a minimum of tens of thousands of taxpayer $$$ 'studying bigfoot' safe to say they'd be roundly lambasted from all sides and most likely lose their positions.1 point

I went out for a late afternoon run up Dewdney Peak today. It frames the west side of the entrance to Norrish Creek watershed, the location of my sighting and trackway find 40+ years ago. I guess I keep hoping that lightning will strike twice in the same area, lol. There had been a fair bit of logging on the slopes of the mountain in the last couple of years, so the steep access road had been in fairly good shape, but I discovered today that the road had been recently aggressively cross ditched to prevent longitudinal washouts, so the 6 km climb now takes about 90 minutes of careful driving to avoid damage to my 4x4. This also indicates that there probably wont be any more logging up there for the next few years. It was a very clear fall afternoon, but cool, about 5C (40F), with great views in all directions. When I reached the end of the road, overlooking the upper Fraser Valley, I met a young couple and their 2 sons, both under 10 years old, enjoying a campfire after riding up in their SxS 4 wheeler. We chatted for a while, and after mentioning my old Sasquatch encounters in the creek valley, the young man mentioned having heard very heavy bipedal footsteps in the upper reaches of the next valley to the east a couple of years ago. I'll probably head up that way in the next few weeks. I saw no wildlife at all during the entire trip up and down, and no tracks in the few small patches of snow in the shaded areas near the summit. Here are a few pics of the views from the logging road; zoom in on the first one, and the far ridge shows the snowy peaks of Mt. Cheam on the left, and Mt. Slesse on the right, with the city of Chilliwack in the valley below. It doesn't look like much from up there, but it's a rapidly growing city of about 50,000.1 point

2 BFF members are currently discussing this. The other 1,286......are not. Such as it goes.-1 points

Cut the crap and belittling, Twist. Your serving no good purpose here outside of trashing me and doing your own brand of pushing and crying...again. Grow up and knock it off schoolboy antics..-1 points

I come back when discussions get serious about discovery and the truth. Or I have something to present. Your self-imagined predictions are a crap shoot because if I had nothing I wouldn't be here. And I will chastise this Forum as I do for its shortcomings. And yes, acknowledging the anniversary was for a good purpose. New members as well as seasoned ones need to keep it green when it comes to the Bigfoot subject seeing as this has been a Bigfoot Forum for 20 years and sometimes runs out of steam. The short clip in the slider on the home page of Patty walking is there for a reason. And the anniversary of that day should be recognized. There is so much on this Forum about it and STILL so few that have acknowledged it. Sad really since the PGF is best thing we have thanks to Bob Gimlin and Roger Patterson. And I think recognizing the day helps keep the Forum on track. 'Nuff said. Anything you have on this thread's topic would be welcome. In fact, you saying anything on any topic to get you off my back would be a good thing. Maybe a question that YOU would like to ask a USFWS defendant in a court of law? Could be a good start-1 points
