  2. Along with Revillagigedo Island (the island that Ketchikan is on), POW has a very long, deep, and documented history of sasquatch reports. Rob Alley did an excellent job documenting the area's history. Also, like Norse wrote, it has an extensive road network created and left by the logging industry, era 1920's-1980's, thus it's cheaper and better access than paying air taxi operators or trudging through montane rainforest. Finally, I'm very confident that rainforest habitat free of brown bears is better sasquatch habitat than rainforest with those monsters constantly hunting your baby sasquatches.

  3. Your idea of eDNA for the handprint is an excellent one. I didn't think of it as I was watching. Curious why they didn't extract it. It would be interesting to know why they chose POW Island. Apparently there are no coastal brown bears there, only black bears, which is surprising. Maybe it was chosen because it is a relatively large island with very little human population (only 6,400). That affords the opportunity for a sasquatch to move about with little intervention. Two islands north, on Admiralty Island (aka Kootznoowoo), there are the largest brown bears on earth. I think when Bradley Trevor Greive, Johnny Legg and Alvon Johnson did their expedition they found, measured, and documented a fresh 23"-24" rear footprint of a bear called Grandfather. Now that's a bear!

  6. I’ve read several accounts of hunters having them in their sights, only to walk away because the creature looked too human.

  7. IIRC, Terence Hill is from Italy. You have to appreciate the use of olive oil on the skin to get that all-day sweaty look for the camera with Hill's movies and spaghetti westerns. I looked over a few old files. In this century, a Washington State senator tried the cryptid angle. In 2017, SB 5816 : Designating Sasquatch the official cryptid or crypto-animal of Washington. The bill did not advance to floor vote. Interesting approach in the way of using 'cryptid'. There are several counties in Washington that prohibit the hunting/shooting/killing of Sasquatch. In 1970, Governor Dan Evans wrote a proclamation designating "the Great Sasquatch" as the state monster. The 19 page file that has background on the proclamation is a good read. There are poems/songs that are kind of a hoot. Good for 1970. Humans will contaminate the samples.

  9. I'm in West Virginia on vacation. Cruised an old forest service road that leads to an abandoned fire watch tower. No bigfeet in sight. Had to cross three creeks. The main river is called Blackwater becsuse the tanin from all the trees seeps into the water, it looks like black cofee.

  10. I think every single bear that visits my bait puts his nose on my game cam. I don't know about sasquatches, but bears most certainly know that game cams are interesting.

  11. I compare Sasquatch to Ninja. Ninjas were supposedly magical, they could disappear into thin air, walk on water, stop sword blows, and climb sheer castle walls. They did all of these things, but they just were not magical. Just a lot of practice, planning and execution. The Viet Cong had a somewhat similar reputation. Another that comes to mind are the Apache. Masters of desert warfare. Modern snipers and ghillie suits. And many many other historical examples. I have read reports of Sasquatch standing up after a hunter had glassed an area for hours, thinking the creature was a stump. I’ve read reports of Sasquatch walking on logs or in cricks to throw off trackers. Maybe like the Ninja or the Viet Cong they are primarily subterranean. We still discover new caves all the time. I mean for all I know Sasquatch could be getting beamed up and down to Earth by a UFO.🤷‍♂️ BUT as MIB said, humans typically fill in blanks in knowledge with mysticism. There could be a lot of behavior that is conducive to their survival that we just don’t understand. I don’t even think our ancestors understood it fully. As most cultures ascribe a sort of boogeyman status to it. They wear a brown ghillie suit 24/7. Roll in some mud and some leaves? You’re gonna hide in plain sight. Be mindful of your tracks, don’t use fire or tools, move often and travel light upon the land. And don’t go where humans congregate. This is how I would attempt to allude humans hunting me. And if Sasquatch is not flesh and blood? It’s some sort of ghost? There is nothing I can do about that. At that point we might as well be a cat chasing a laser pointer. I personally am just not ready to accept that. The tracks I saw were real, my father saw them, something in this material world made them. But with aliens and alien craft now apart of the congressional record now? Nothing would really surprise me anymore!
