  1. Maybe the same way it was determined that neanderthal, denisovans etc were deemed human? DNA maybe? I voted "yes". Very little upside for ""the government"" if the cat got out of the bag.

  2. hiflier, you have the classic near field-far field conundrum. Ferns or trees? The Spypoint trail camera that you have changes the IR output. It has automatic adjustment of the infrared illumination. English: the back scatter from the ferns, near field, decreases the IR output and the far field doesn't get much IR.. Otherwise, the ferns would be totally was washed out. I put some images through edge detection. I used a dark contrast. The anomaly does not have detail but is in front of a tree. The enlargement 'blob' does not have any detail. The unknown aerial visitor could be a squirrel / bird.

  3. 5) The tissue and blood samples were first examined for DNA by Dr. Todd Disotel. He could find NO DNA and said he thought it had all been degraded. Then Dr. Nelson (a microbiologist) tried his hand at it, concluded that something was inhibiting the testing, and isolated out the galvanizing substance from the screws. Then he was able to obtain DNA and sequence it. His finding was for human, but with one variance that appears in chimpanzee, not human, DNA. Dr. Nelson said that he will perform additional tests over the next year, and that he thinks perhaps his results may show Bigfoot to be some sort of human. Meldrum was not quoted at all on the DNA results. https://frontiersofzoology.blogspot.com/2013/11/former-report-on-bigfoot-dna.html From the Snelgrove Lake incident. Messy floor indeed. Although I think there may be more than one genus/species out there.

  4. It’s all gray area. Right now it’s legal to own another great ape. Civil rights only applies to Homo Sapiens. So Sasquatch would need to be Homo Sapien. People like Huntster argue that civil rights would apply to anything in the genus Homo. Which may end up being the case? We just don’t know. Sasquatch is bipedal, it’s undoubtedly closer to us than a chimp. But how close? It’s my personal opinion that Sasquatch who does not seem to flake stone tools or start fire? Would be excluded from the genus Homo. Regardless of its place in biology, once discovered? It’s should be protected.

  5. Ha...generally doesn't differ. But, I was just answering the question asked.

  6. Apparently the "object" was behind a small 9ft sparsely limbed spruce tree which is why I think the "pattern" looks so broken up. Behind that sma]spruce is an open space about 10ft deep between that and the trunk of the ash tree behind the object. The ground is very spongy back there so there were no impressions that I could detect outside of it looked like maybe bears had been grubbing around the general vicinity in spots.

  7. Thanks, 7.62, I've just seen a lot of paredolia discussion but felt this was different because it doesn't need a red circle Nonetheless, it still isn't proof but there are elements....here's a bit closer shot of the area:

  8. I voted "yes" on the poll. I can't speak to the others, but as for "where" I am as relates to this discussion....frankly, I got bored. Now don't take offense, but here we are at 13 pages and that's a bit much considering it appears to me the discussion has degenerated into ...what? Three or so members going back and forth, repeating themselves if not word for word by in general gist of their positions, and not saying anything that should be said like, "This is tedious so we should agree to disagree." Especially when you get into the territory of taking carefully worded pot shots at each other. Criminy, if we were at the local tavern, I'd tell you both to change the subject because you're getting nowhere with each other and order another round so we could discuss something less prickly like politics.

  9. The 800 lbs Gorilla in the room (no pun intended) 1) The last picture of the dark figure. 2) The journal entry “the snowman lives” 3) The hasty flight from the tent. 4) The picture of the Menk warning on the tree. 5) The report from the locals the Menk was active that year. 6) The blunt force trauma of many of the victims. 7) One victim had her tongue removed. The Menk reportedly loves reindeer tongue. If it wasn’t a Menk? Was it a Bear? The natives? Gulag escapees? I think without a doubt the Menk was on their minds. People with hypothermia don’t make journal entries about mystical animals. They stopped and took a picture of the Menk warning sign. It’s quite possible they were just scared of nothing and fled the tent, but we would have found them all dead from exposure. SOMETHING was there, something crushed ribs and exploded organs. A fall? Look at the topography….
