Here is the rub…. Until someone drags one in? Everything is pure speculation. How smart it is. How closely related it is to Homo Sapien. Does it have language? Does it have night vision? So forth and so on….. Right now Bigfoot resides with Pixies and Gnomes. It’s not a primate. It’s not a mammal. It’s a monster from folklore.1 point

All of that is true. That's why this crime will never stop: there is no punishment for it. And that is why this society is going down: crime has less and decreasing downside, so it will continue to degrade the social/cultural fabric. Again, that is yet another reflection of the society overall. It is collapsing. It has failed. It is ill. And there is no effective treatment because the treatment is rejected.........like how you have rejected the prosecution of cyber crime.1 point

Norse, you compared their intelligence to that of a cougar. I disagree and the fact that there is no body on a slab should prove that to you. No matter the method. Have you ever looked into the stories surrounding Patty? There is a tale of dogs being used to track it. Not sure if you've seen it, but I thought it was interesting. You are squarely in the kill camp, and if I remember correctly, you've never had any kind of experience with these creatures before. I am squarely in the do not kill camp and have had multiple encounters. I wonder if these things are related. Sorry to hear that your health is bad. I like the vast majority of what you are about but diverge from your viewpoint on one critical idea. That doesn't mean I don't respect you and like you. I hope you get healthier than ever and mule kick the health issues right back.1 point

@Huntster A flare gun is a brilliant idea, especially if it is known to have startled bears and actually stopped or prevented attacks previously. And legal to carry as well! Maybe even legal over here in England too, I will have to check as although we (obviously!) don't have bears and other apex predator animals, there are plenty of other dangerous 'creatures' here these days to necessitate some sort of self-defence plan just in case! ** Update** I've just checked, and nope, it is also illegal to carry a flare gun in the UK unless you are currently bobbing up and down on a boat on the ocean! So other than a a plastic spoon (!) looks like it's back to the drawing board on that one. But excellent idea to buy one when travelling in America, many thanks for that!1 point

Oh! BTW! This is the best hound collar out there. https://marshallradio.com/ww/product/728/ It’s got good range, takes regular batteries, has a cool magnetic on off switch that cannot be bumped. (In which case your up a creek without a paddle) And has a tough aluminum housing. I still have one left laying around here somewhere. I gave two of my dogs and some gear to two Indian boys from across the river. They could still run hounds on the Rez. Buck and Amy are probably dead by now. Two red bones full brother and sister. I talked with the one boy one time and he said Amy outstruck every one of his dogs on the strike platform. (First to detect the scent and bay) And Buck who was always aggressive grabbed a black bear by the butt as it was climbing a tree and tried to rip him off. Good dogs! And I trained them, but only so much is training and the rest is pure instinct. And some dogs out of the same litter just will not hunt.1 point

To be honest, I think you are a complete psychopath who wants to shoot and kill something that countless people have described as nearly human. You can keep stroking your gun barrel to the idea of hunting one of these creatures, but you won't ever get a single shot on one because they are far smarter than you give them credit for. Thats a good thing in my book. Your ego is involved that that is preventing you from knowledge. You have a long way to go and I doubt you will get there. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Best of luck.1 point

And why is that NorCal? Have you ever trained hounds? Do you have any Sasquatch scent I can soak on my drag to train my hounds? No. And the people that have supposedly tried with Sasquatch end up with a cowering dog that won’t track. I have no idea how they train a search and rescue dog to track on a leash. But with redbones, blue ticks, etc you train them on a drag with the scent of the animal you’re targeting, when they are puppies. And if they run anything else? They are punished. It’s called breaking them from running trash. So you don’t start out on a Cougar track and then end up running a deer for 30 miles. Because somewhere in the chase a deer crossed the Cougar track. Also? The game is to tree the animal your chasing. Most black bears, most cougar, most raccoon when stressed and chased? Tree. If they turn and fight depending on how far the chase is and how big the animal is? You could have a lot of dead dogs. Thats why running Grizzly Bear never worked well. Cuz a Griz wouldn’t tree. If you can get there with a gun quick? So be it. But if your dogs are two hours in front of you? Your probably gonna lose all your dogs. What does the size of the animal have to do with tracking? They also get Sasquatch on trail cameras, and iPhones and 16mm film. Nobody believes any of it.1 point

Somewhere on par with the great apes, any higher and they would be in charge and not us. But if it's a number game 0 since I don't believe they exist, but hey they're as intelligent as one wants to pretend, they are.1 point

A flare gun. * It's cheap. $83 * It also serves as a signaling device. * Larry Kaniut, in his "Alaska Bear Tales" book series, notes that in all three cases that he could confirm where a bear attack was countered with a flare gun, the bear (suddenly on fire with an effective "Willie-Pete" round) left the scene in a hurry and the human victim was left without a scratch. I carry a flare gun kit during my own Alaskan adventures. It consists of an Olin 12 gauge flare gun and a handful of flares in a Pelican waterproof case. It's small and light. It's not a set up for 24/7 instant at-hand personal protection, but I carry a handgun for that. I carry the flare gun for signaling from a troubled camp or broken down off road rig, but if I had it at hand when a troublesome bear got too close, I wouldn't hesitate to light his rump up with it.1 point

Bear Spray. Be cognizant of the wind direction, so your not eaten with burning eyes. Ok, don’t laugh but this has probably killed more animals in history than a gun has. A boar spear. https://www.amazon.com/Cold-Steel-95BOASK-Secure-Ex-Sheath/dp/B004N0KVTS Not to be confused with a javelin. A Boar spear is designed to thrust with repeatedly. It has a cross guard that limits penetration so it can be pulled back out and not get stuck. And your last line of defense should always be a knife. Buy a full tang knife. With a decent point for stabbing. A slice is easy to defend against and a straight stab is not. And the point makes a great defense against things bull rushing you. https://www.amazon.com/Knives-Hunter-Finish-Leather-Micarta/dp/B0D9R5Z2ZJ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1DY0XIH00NYNJ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.VmUMtBTBo9RnpL8zlqd8Mvs7kqXkoUSG-YMlTQIIKR_FLgoTFd3d_ULfc226d12nuMwaOG480gD2rsUTRxeH5YNiXGR21QJgf5rSW9OAck1bj3f_E1fJWYeFV_frpT7md-xFkAq92Aw3tqHYlFpLmXOQfI1TZdk8XXBmkgrjWaWeyjsv4Rpy0WJlT_Kz-Q-C5CWsLT09ff3RnUoT50oidxSDKVDN35XuqOK4OntFIdkyxQpfimhZf3bmkTvEsEyUWEc_6u2UXXTdUEm_w1a-NLWP71LSSC9tMm1KKpT3vk4.jtoJyJAmN7rydVXcNES9V0eNunPq9Qch63CuMmHAbN0&dib_tag=se&keywords=pig+hunter+knives&qid=1723132796&sprefix=Pig+Hunter+%2Caps%2C160&sr=8-31 point

I don't care if science investigates it. Science is burdened with dogma and their contribution to the subject won't be significant. I am of the belief that it is closer to human than to animal and killing it would be akin to murder. You can't listen to all the encounters and pick the half that call it an ape, while ignoring the half that call it nearly human.0 points

correct. identity theft insinuates stealing personal data like credit card #, ssn, etc. DOS is when one overwhelms a service provider's system and crashes your ability to use the internet altogether. Stealing logins, which have no monetary value, is not a cyber crime. There is not a single prosecutor in the country who would take this case. It is harassment, but probably doesn't meet the legal standard for actionable offense.-1 points
