Makes sense but it's also common where I'm at to put out salt for legal hunting purposes. I'd say mainly as an attractant for your nearby game-camera so you can assess the animals that frequent the area. A block works, or just bags of water-softener salt. Like @PNWexplorersaid, once it's gone they will lick at the ground for years afterwards.1 point
