  1. The account Branco posted in, I think, the "A Few Field Reports" thread mentioned a gentleman who dozed off in front of his small campfire only to awake to a roaring fire, fueled by a stump clearly transported while he snoozed from a nearby embankment. That certainly speaks to a passing kniwledge of combustion...not to mention a playful sense of humor.

  2. IMO, utterances such as the above serve to illustrate the ignorance and ego in play and to postulate science as the catalyst for such is not only disingenous but fraudulent as to actual motives.

  4. ^ Yeah, you need that notch. You also need the ignition tools, dry wood of different sizes, a birds nest properly put together and of course good skill. Maybe that's what the bigfoot howls we hear are? Cursing cause they can't get the fire lit!?! t.

  5. It is always the same Statements of "I know this and I know that" No matter what the claim is, the minute you ask for evidence you get the same tired responses It doesn't matter if it the "pearls Before swine" response Or "Why should i. I do this for myself?" Or Any other variation that they use It all boils down to the fact that they have no evidence They are free to make any claim they want, just as we are free to judge it for ourselves You presume too much I did not think for an instant that you would care what I thought. And just so there is no misunderstanding here Anything you have to say is of no further interest to me

  6. Nobody said they definitely use fire. The debate started because Norseman said "creature that doesn't understand how to create fire or stone tools" & I said "How do you know that they can't/don't make fire?..... Bonobno...... etc." There is no debate about whether or not they actually USE fire.

  8. If for some reason I have given you the erroneous impression that your opinions about what I "have" or what I have learned about BF is of some concern or interest to me, I certainly must apologize; nothing could be further from the truth. Please don't waste your valuable time.

  9. That "perennial lack of proof" is in itself a perennial distortion of fact, and always used by those who have never seen one. (If anyone has clearly seen one or more BF and can't consider the sighting as personal proof of their existence, that would be very odd an unusual.) Would you consider it proof of their existence if you were fortunate enough to see one at close enough range and lighting conditions that would discount it being any other animal, including a human in a costume? Would that be using logic? Could you give some examples of "conspiracy panders" who derive income from such activities?

  10. Thanks for the concern Northfork. I will go back with someone for a while until I can assess how aggressive they really are. I keep saying to myself that I want to provoke one into a full visual bluff charge but after this experience not sure my ticker could take that. The gun thing is a quandary for me. The two that did the chest beating thing, or whatever it was, were probably too far away to see that I was wearing one. Once it started raining before the second thing, I had my fleece shirt over the gun to keep it from getting wet. By the time the one did the chuffing thing, I was in the go home mode, it was raining hard, and I had taken the gun off and put it in my truck. I was just standing around hoping to get some audio with the recorder in the truck and unarmed at that point. So maybe that is why the chuffer thought it safe to do his thing. Who knows. But if a gun is displayed will anything happen? I don't know. I just went through the entire audio tape. Where I think the first chest beating thing, infrasound attempt, or whatever it was, happened the wind was picking up as the rain storm was coming in and the wind noise in the recorder totally covers up anything that happened right then. The rain hit shortly after that, and I covered the recorder up with a baggy to keep it from getting wet. From that point on, you hear a lot of rain on the bag, my footsteps and not much else until I got back to the truck. I may have been walking and not stopped soon enough when the second one happened too. If I am walking my foot steps pretty much cover up anything else. That second one scared me more than the first because it was in behind me and on my way out. I had one flank me one time and know if they are doing that, they using tactics humans used to trap or attack an enemy. It is not passive behavior but something used in an aggressive manner that could be part of an attack. Distract in one direction and while one comes up behind. I did not really plan to do a lot of hiking that day because of a previous knee injury and just wanted to scope out this area more. Normally I would not even go with a chance of ran like that. I carry around about a 1000 worth of camera and recording gear and do not want it to get wet. Are people hearing the chuffing? My computer has a special audio card so not sure a garden variety computer can play like it does. One guy said it sounds like a crow to him. Sure does not to me. Sounds more like the chuffing thing that Norseman posted with the gorilla. Notice how the pitch goes up and down for each chuff? Sounds sort of like a saw sawing wood only different size pieces of wood with each saw stroke. That sort of rules out bird to me. For me the chuffing experience pretty well nails down ape. That and the chest thumping thing, just does not seem like any human behavior I know of in any primitive culture. Of course what do we know about Neanderthal behavior? They could have beat chest and done all manner of vocalizations to intimidate a stranger.

  11. You are right; I'm not spilling my guts on an internet forum about what has taken me forty plus years, driving tens of thousands miles and spending a lot of money, and a hxxx of lot of days and nights in the field to learn a little bit about these critters! Why would I, or any of the rest of the guys and gals who have done the same thing all over the Southeastern U.S.? To provide some no-nothing, trigger happy yahoo their nonsensical chance to be the "first" to put one on the slab for science? These animals have been here a long, long time. One only has to see a few of them to know they are our nearest kin, and to know that they are MUCH more human than any other ape. Many who frequent the forum - most who never post - know that what I have stated is factual. Doesn't matter a whit that most of the "regular internet Bigfoot researches" don't care to believe what I have written, but Bigfoot is only an enigma to those that have not made the efforts to find and interact with them. Anyone who is naive to believe that the government with the most sophisticated surveillance equipment in the world does not know that these creatures exist on government lands and military bases, and understand that at times bodies some of the creatures had, for one reason or the other, to be removed, does not have reasoning ability enough to ask for proof of anything related to Bigfoot. Just remember what I have said in the previous posts. BF needs no more help to survive; they'll still be here when humans have wiped themselves out. Feel free to vent your spleen, I'm too old to give a hoot.

  12. I'm surprised by Norseman saying that these things are about as smart as Chimpsa and Gorillas etc and I've said it many times before that I think people grossly underestimate the intelligence of these things. IMO of course they're smarter that other higher primates like Chimps and Orangs etc. Look at us being here writing what we do every day and the existence of this forum for proof. If they did have regular animal intelligence, or even higher primate intelligence like Chimps etc, this subject would have been nailed a long time ago. These animals utilise their environment to their benefit like no other animal on earth, clearly.
