These are fairly rare down this way......the beautiful Cecropia Moth (male), unfortunately was squished a bit.

Here's a limb break that looked a bit out of place and deliberate. These two 6" limbs that are 10' feet off the ground, were pulled down to block one of my trails that I use. No damage to any other limbs, it just looked a little weird, and much more so in person. Trial marked with line.

Still enjoy reading your thread Bigtex! I was all over Lake Travis yesterday in a fishing tourney.....we mostly fished from Pace Bend up the Colorado.....impessive wilderness for sure! I was thinking about your thread and looking around the whole time...

Hey Bighunter43.......hope you won! There is a sighting that took place in Pace Bend. Some main power lines cross the Lake there, which the big guys seem to be using, and are the same ones that go through our town. I really believe that power lines are major highways for BF migrations......path of least resistance. A picture of the power lines North of town looking South, Pace Bend is South across the River, and directly across from my town.

Thanks BigTex...(we didn't win)....but I hadn't been up the Colorado Arm of Lake Travis in many years and didn't remember just how rugged that area really is! Keep up the great research....(I'll be back out there in July and again in Oct).....as I was driving thru Pace Bend at 4 am I sure kept my eyes open....but no luck!

Here's an interesting print, and looked like some kinda huge wolf creature at a glance, but is a perfect example of a double-print, two K-9 prints over lapping that appears to be one large one.

Some neighbors found it, were all freaked out, and called me to come over. Hated to disappoint them though:(

Speaking of doggie prints.......here are some Wolf paws. I've noticed that when she lays tracks, especially on a softer surface, her toes splay out like in the photo, and leave a very distinct & huge print.

Last time I couldn't put a book down, it was The DaVinci Code. Just caught up! Wow! Bigtex, you can add me to your list of faithful followers.

I love your dogs, your pool, and your archeological finds. I enjoy your adventures, and I'm perfectly happy to hike via pics and stories.

So sorry about your loss, though. I'm sure you have wonderful memories to carry you through.

Keep 'me coming!

I'm going to have to poke around the interwebz and see what I can find out about the history of that area. Just fascinating!

Thanks Elaine, very kind words.....and keeps me out there!

Very unusual weather this week, 45 degrees.........better enjoy it while I can.

Here are some prints & impressions from the last few days; first, an interesting impression, might be a knuckle down print as there was some low brush, and required the same all 4's down for me to get through. Picture with and without my hand.......mine is too small to fill it up. What appears to be a juvie print, about 10" long, Lucy doing her wolfy thing, and a very cool cave.
