Excellent play by play synopsis. Well written, brief, informative and easily understood. If you had a " MOUNTIES' ALLEDGED BIGFOOT CAPTURE UPDATES BLOG" I would surely check several times a day as the drama and suspense and entertainment continues. And probably a lot of others as well lol

I know waiting is always the worst part, That seems to be the one universal complaint. Why wait to show it to the world if you have a body/specimen.

This has not been discussed by me with any of the participants other than DW. This is MY opinion only, but it makes sense.

A few years back I was working with a lawyer, He is a family friend and is aware of my bigfoot hobby. His wife at the time was a Legislator, She sat in on the conversation I am going to relay to you.

I asked the lawyer, What would you do if I were to retain your services if I captured a bigfoot, or found one dead? How would you as my lawyer proceed to protect my rights to ownership?

He said first make sure the animal is in a safe place, purchase a commercial freezer if it is dead, and contain it if alive. But under no circumstances do you tell anyone outside of those involoved and your lawyer of course.

Letters and phone calls would have to be made to the interior department. Fish and game department, Forestry department...and he mentioned several other government agencies that I don't remember.

He said first you have to make absolutely sure to secure the specimen/body "Legally" for you to have any rights to it. No matter who had an interest in the specimen, you can and have to secure your rights as the discoverer and owner.

It would take some time, even with all these things in place pre-capture, It would still take time before you could even reveal it's whereabouts, or it probably will be taken under all kinds of statutes. But you would have rights, and most things would be negotiable, even with the government, once and only once all legal documents are secured by you. It would be you and your lawyer's responsibility to get all that done. And even then, it is still going to be a tough difficult thing to accomplish if the government wants it.

I thanked him and got up to leave, He said call him if this ever happened. lol I had never ever really thought of the ramifications of all these things that would nee to be in place before bringing it out. But everyone always speculates that the MIB or government agency would swoop in and take it, after this discussion, I am sure of it.

Remember, this is just my opinion, and my lawyer's too. But it only makes sense. It takes time.

Nope, I didn't find it snarky at all, thats why I thanked you for the clarification. My second paragraph was for anyone who might be finding my "play by play" repetitive. I just wanted to make it clear as to why I am posting it that way. I actually welcome corrections, because my word isn't the be all and the end all, and I do get a little confused sometimes and/or I may perceive something the wrong way. So like I said, corrections and criticisms are welcome...

Its great you are doing this, my only comment is that it lends the whole thing more credence than it deserves.

Well, if this makes sense, then why would this 'group' even leak a rumor to begin with? You'd think if this were true they'd be tight lipped, especially since these 'members' have been tight lipped save for this one guy that has no direct knowledge of anything posting on an internet forum.

So, we're led now to believe that the pattern of a typical hoax is not a typical hoax, and folks are slowly being convinced that this one is somehow different.

If this were real, we wouldn't know about it. So unless someone has some real evidence, it should remain a hoax. And this guy Ed should have known better, what does he gain by posting this? And wouldn't this 'group' be really mad at him about leaking it? And why would they talk to him again?

I love how, we the members of this forum, are making the news. Bigfoot Evidence has just posted this story, hours after it was first posted here.

After JRid posted this radio show archive I said "Considering this interview is from 2009, and it is consistent with what Driveroperator told us a day ago, I'm somewhat intreagued as to the validity of this entire "Daisy/Ed Smith/Quantra(Original-6)/MABRC" situation". This is basically what the good people at Bigfoot Evidence said in their story.

Here is something about the real Ed Smith and sorry for posting about the wrong, weird Ed Smith. This Ed seems to be the real deal. Hope they really have captured BF, and the government doesn't take it.

I have refrained from saying too much, Because I did not want to muddy the waters. The fact that I am an MABRC member means you will give me little to no credit for saying this, But I will say it anyway.

Ed Smith is a real person. I have visited with Ed Smith, Had dinner with him. Got an in depth look into their operations down in Oklahoma. I did see some evidence that secured for me the fact that Ed was into something big. The limiting factor for most researchers to not be successful, is funding. Even the big money researchers like BFRO are woefully underfunded. Ed Smith and his group does not have that problem.

The scale of their operation would boggle your mind. It involves leasing lands and long term 'hands off approach' with their set-ups. Engineered triangulated sound towers to locate precise locations of tree knocks and vocals. 24 to 36 ft angle iron towers topped with the type of thermal camera's you see on the bottom of helicopters, with the ability to zoom in for a mile or more. Ground sensors placed in area's of observations of travel, along fences etc. all fed into computers to give real time feed back as to whether or not something walking is bipedal or quadruped. fed back at the same time a thermal video is taken. Then after a video was taken, while the image was still on screen, not moving the thermal camera's they can overlay a man standing in the same spot for size comparisons. Some of the video shots also resulted in hair, tissue and even blood from briars found from the travel path of the bigfoot.

Ed was the first to show us how to collect samples and document. First, you video the whole process, use packaged tweezers, packaged q-tips, and rubber gloves to take samples and bag them and seal the bag. All video taped.

In the beginning, some of the labs would not have taken on the job of DNA study without the video showing how the samples were retrieved and not contaminated.

The details go on and on...It all started years ago when these 6 guy's who were all friends, were in college together. All working on higher degree's. One night they were discussing things as young men do, and the topic of bigfoot came up. To make a long story short, 3 of the 6 men had encounters with a creature we know as bigfoot. Ed's encounter is quite amazing, as he was hiking alone along the Illinois river in North Oklahoma, I believe he encountered 3, and got hit in the back by a rock from a squatch standing knee deep in the river while he faced the other two....he vacated quickly back to where his vehicle was parked and was escorted as some people are when they have a wooded encounter. Because of the sighting by 3 of them, they started playing around with the idea of why there has been no evidence....much like we all have pondered. After college at some point they put their plan in motion, Lots of money ( i believe a trust fund was some of the money used)

They initially had a 10 year plan, Ed Smith got ansy, and wanted to replicate their findings from their research with other researchers in different locations...they needed this as part of the scientific process. Ed started posting to the MABRC and revealed to us what they needed. So we tried to help. This was 4 years ago.

So people ask WHY? is the MABRC who Ed chose to contact. Well, because it was located somewhat close to where Ed lived, had 200 researchers they could have help to replicate their experiments. You can't really belong to a group and not develop friendships, so that is where we have progressed to now. Ed was always the one pushing to share their info to get to where they wanted to get to, after 10 years he was getting tired of the 2 week stretches in the command trailers on location ,manning the thermals and computer equipment. The other 5 guy's were not as eager to share as Ed was. So they clashed sometimes about releasing content. So then this past year there was a change of business plans, Ed was tired....and then all of a sudden, here we are with what has transpired.

I am sure some will not be happy with me sharing this. I hope it gives you a better understanding. believe me when I tell you, this is only a speck of the depth of all they have done and documented, I just can't put it all down in an appropriate timeline. You will just have to be satisfied...surely some here have read some of the Ed Smith threads of research over at the MABRC.

Mounty, No disrespect by the first thing your timeline had is reported in Bigfoot Evidence blog and that just is not accurate. It was first reported on the MABRC forum and on Facebook hours before it made Bigfoot Evidence. All their info mostly comes from Facebook or forums like this and they don't deserve credit and didn't scoop anything.

• Report was of a text message leaked by Ed Smith.
  
• The text was sent by a member of the Mid-America Bigfoot Research Center, Quantra Team (The Original 6), whatever that means.
  
• The text stated "Daisy is in the Box", which is a code phrase for a Bigfoot (possibly Female) has been captured.

• Dec. 27, D.W. Lee does not deny the capture, and states that it did not happen in Oklahoma.

Unless these guys are kicking it old school, you would think they would have a web page for their project to post updates, etc. If everything is what Ed Smith says, the Mabrc site is way too slow for something like this ; 0 )
