Guest Divergent1
Researchers really ought to be more familiar with the fauna in their area rather than creating a big deal out of normal.
bipedalist Posted September 8, 2014 BFF Patron Share Posted September 8, 2014 get the 40 buck 3 ft. human skeleton on Amazon and leave it at that....... keeps you from doing the hirsute alligator drill.....
Guest ksu4
At least this was addressed in a timely fashion by all involved. I have zero issues with the way this was handled--I wish more of the proffered BF evidence was wrapped up so quickly.
Teegunn
As expected. An "arm" with BF and Skunkape originally attached to it as descriptions. Iffy, vague and and leading info given combined with missing (they new from word GO this was iffy at best to even be primate) info in the hopes that this would create attention and hits for about a week. Just a joke IMHO - pretty easy to tell early on things didn't add up. BTW, Disotell looks like he has a big brownie pasted to the top of his head in that picture/video above. Cotter
Researchers really ought to be more familiar with the fauna in their area rather than creating a big deal out of normal. Plussed, but it should really read 'enthusiasts'. Researchers are indeed familiar with the fauna. BTW, Disotell looks like he has a big brownie pasted to the top of his head in that picture/video above. LOL! What on earth would possess someone to sport THAT? Drew
Should change the Title of the thread to "Reptile Leg Found." or "Crocodilian Leg Found". Edited September 8, 2014 by Drew
Guest
Researchers really ought to be more familiar with the fauna in their area rather than creating a big deal out of normal. Plussed. I've seen it stated so many times by "researchers" here on the BFF that they are unfamiliar with local fauna and flora, yet make fantastic claims of BF. Lack of a thorough understanding of the proven natural history of an area can easily lead to confusion when you are searching for something that may or may not exist. WSA
Experience told me to be cautious about this one. Plus, I can count fingers. Oh well... interesting discussion nonetheless, but Mr. Brown has a stain to scrub off his record, by my lights. A leetle Quicksdraw, I tink. Bring something good and all is forgiven as far as I'm concerned.
Teegunn
Not sure why Disotell has to wear the "Huge brownie on top of the head" - it is the I'm pretty fricken Rad look I guess. Each to their own, but honestly if you are a professor and want to be taken seriously (especially in something like bigfooting), pasting a big brownie on top of your head isn't gonna help. I found it distractingly funny at times on the show he was on. Guess it's part of the "hey look at me" thing that is so prevalent to garner attention anymore. EDIT - I can never figure out how to actually quote other posts on this site. Hitting the quote button doesn't work, so there must be another step I am missing. Incorrigible1
BTW, Disotell looks like he has a big brownie pasted to the top of his head in that picture/video above. You're welcome to be as offended as you wish. As one that had shoulder-length hair in the early seventies, I swore to myself never to give crap to anyone about their music nor their hair. Your mileage may vary.
kitakaze
Not being taken seriously is about the last thing Prof. Disotell needs to worry about... He's had a mohawk, likes punk rock, has tattoos. This is something that Bigfoot enthusiasts get hung up on, and very few others. Certainly not NYU. Seriously, Bigfootery, look at yourself. Google "Todd Disotell mohawk"... https://www.google.ca/?gws_rd=ssl#q=todd+disotell+mohawk The only people complaining are Bigfoot enthusiasts. Everyone else does not care. This is bizarre for a community that is supposed to encourage open-mindedness. You're welcome to be as offended as you wish. Teegunn
You guys are taking things far too seriously from my last couple of posts. But I will stick to my point that it doesn't help him look like a bonafide researcher to some peoples eyes. It doesn't mean he isn't the best in the world at what he does, or not, his hairstyle and music likes (etc) have no bearing on that - but perceptions can matter on fringe subjects like bigfootery. Still, I was 99% just having a little humor thrown into the thread.... And as far as being "offended" - please do not put words into my mouth that I never said or posted. Sheesh. Lighten up Francis. And BTW, I am very open minded. But yes, I am not a huge fan of mohawks. Does not effect my "open mindedness". At all. Too many people going with cliche'd thinking and assumptions. If a person doesn't like mohawks, they are close minded. Got it. Edited September 9, 2014 by Teegunn
Incorrigible1
So as not to put words into your mouth: You're not fond of Disotell's hair-style, but find need to point it out.. Mmmmkay. Clear as mud.
Teegunn
It was made clear as mud (complicated and taken far out of context) when words were put in my mouth (that I never posted) and making assumptions which are beyond cliche'd that had no basis in reality to what I posted. I made one small sentence about the brownie on top of Disotells head - you have made it out to be far more than it ever was, which was just a wee bit of funny posted on a message board. Like I said - lighten up Francis. BTW, this subject matter of this thread is a joke - an alligator arm spun as primate/BF/Skunkape. The lack of information was purposeful and baiting. And the delay in releasing the info so they can shoot a video clip on the matter (for attention). That is the joke, and one which anyone who wants honest and forthright research done on this enigmatic subject should cringe at.
Guest Divergent1
I'm with Teegun..........bigfoot community + well respected scientist, who actually does good work, but looks like "Side Show Bob"....it's probably not a good thing. Doesn't the community have enough of those characters already? And they are talking about an alligator leg that they thought was a baby bigfoot body part initially. My point is made for me under the circumstances IMO.
