Guest Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I guess it depends on how you look at it. I have done plenty of solo investigations over night in the sierras mostly near where the sierra sounds were recorded. The solitude is good for the soul As long as you tell others where you're headed and when you expect to back.

Guest WldHrtRnch Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 You guys are brave too. My riding buddy and I have camped, with the horses, just me and her, not too terribly remote but somewhat. It was nice, just us and the horses. Of course I hadn't researched into Sasquatch at the time either.
Guest Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Thank u wld and ronn Thats why i loved yellowstone. The 2 months i spent there was theraputic for my soul.
Guest Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I would hope that every single person would have the opportunity and pleasure of camping in a remote location, on a beautiful fall evening, far enough away from manmade lights on a moonless night to go to sleep looking at the sky. And quiet enough to hear the sounds of the forest, desert where they were. Most youngster and a lot of oldsters don't really know what the milky way is. There is so much light pollution now many have never seen the full glory of the night skies. I am saddened when I ask youngsters if they like to watch for meteors, planets, and most of them dont live in a place where you can tell the galaxy is even there. But anytime on a clear night and especially in the meteor shower periods in the fall, it is a awesome blast to lay on your back in a soft sleeping bag and have to do nothing more than open your eyes to see all the cool stuff up there. And, if you have late night visitors, that of course would become an even more extraordinary night to remember.
Guest Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 (edited) Our Milky Way has billions of stars and the nearest Galaxy (Andromeda) is 2 MILLION light years away. There are an estimated 200 BILLION galaxies in the universe..the farthest are over 10 BILLION light years away. BTW..our SUN is 8 light Minutes away. The universe a BIG place folks..and were not alone. MILKY WAY>>> Edited February 28, 2013 by ronn1
Guest Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I admire those who have the fortitude to go out and camp by themselves!! I agree, I have not gone camping in many years. Since alone now just wouldn't do it alone. Even when I go Hiking I get no cell service in the areas I go. Right Now I tend to hike around White Memorial in Litchfield CT. Lots of people around. One of the things I love is they have Wooden walkway around and over the Marsh area. Its really Pretty. http://www.whitememorialcc.org/maps.html I am on the hunt for a New Cattle Dog to go hiking with. I just always feel safer with a sturdy dog going with me.
Guest WldHrtRnch Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I have that gorgeous milky way up above every night. I live rurally, with a little over 20 acres that are in a National Forest, with the wood-line only 35 to 40 feet from my back door. I've had company that camped in the yard out here to enjoy the big sky. It is truly beautiful. I often give thanks, noticing all the wondrous beauty, while locking the gate to my barn. Many never get to enjoy this, and I am grateful I have it each and every night that it is not cloudy.
Guest Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I see the Milk way every day as well. Every time i walk by my works Vending Machine....
Guest Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Question: Anyone know If Musky has been approved yet for the forums. It would be great to ask him some questions in here.
Sasfooty Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Another question: If he was approved, would all the posts calling him a hoaxer & a liar, & revealing his real name have to be removed & the people who posted them, have to be banned?
Guest Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I don't know Sasyfooty - why don't you send the Administrators a PM and ask. Also, it should not go un-said - I think you are talking about Musky. Musky has made himself a "public figure" - as such - he is held to a much higher level of scrutiny than the average person. He is claiming knowlege of a situation - that is (in our community and maybe to the world) important. So - I don't see how people discussing his name (real name) is a horrible thing. Yes, he has not been truthful - as Eric Dahinden has stated he still has all of his fathers papers. I don't know that I would call Eric a liar.. The rules of the BFF are their own - but for people to say outing Muskys name and info is wrong --- well then he shouldn't get involved in high profile situations. He opened himself up to the search for the information behind the man. Happens all the time. Why do you think you will never find anything online about me and what city I live in. I keep some information off the internet.
Guest Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I wouldn't think Past Things on the Forum should be taken into account. Its already been read and seen. I don't think Musky would care either at this point in time. Just think it would be great to have more questions to ask of him. In what he can answer Directly. Now according to RL he said another bigfooter is also going to be seeing the Body when Derek does. I wonder who the possible other person is. CLIFF, CLIFF, CLIFF !!!
Sasfooty Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 (edited) I don't know Sasyfooty - why don't you send the Administrators a PM and ask. The rules of the BFF are their own I think I can wait & see. Some people have more patience than others. And as you said "The rules of the BFF are their own", & we all know what they say about attacking other members. So if he becomes a member....we'll just have to see what happens. It would be surprising if he was approved, & he'd have to be one tuff bird to even want to be. Edited February 28, 2013 by Sasfooty
